British Museum (Natural History) by Invicta

Just a quick question: How much would an Invicta Stenonychosaurus be worth?

I've seen people ask well over $100. I don't personally think anyone should pay that much.  It is, however, rare and unusual (even if it doesn't really look much like a troodontid) and so is still very collectible.  When up for sale, they seem to sell fairly readily for up to about $40 or so (or the equivalent in other currencies). Higher than that, and they don't usually sell.

Although, since I have one ($10! with postage! 8 years ago) I don't pay that close of attention, and the prices may have started to rise in the last few years.

I'm not asking because I want to sell one, but because I want to buy one. Unfortunately that one just was bought by someone else....But if i'm lucky, I might still be able to get one for a good price. Alongside some of it's friends...

I so badly wanted these dinos as a child. They were also sold at our museums in Oz, and I remember that many government schools had sets of these for teachers who were doing lessons on dinosaurs. My mother bought be the plesiosaur, which was my favorite "dino" at the time. I otherwise had to make do with Chinasaurs (HonKisaurs they were) from the local supermarket. Ironically, I now collect Chinasaurs, but if I ever decided to go for a more lifelike collection I'd definitely go for the Invictas.

They belong to the museum of course. I suppose they were once of educational value, not quite so much these days, I'm not sure what to do with them. They will probably just hang around the office looking pretty

Well spotted. It is another version of the 'Dinocrats' plesiosaur. But unlike mine, the text on the tummy says 'Toyway'. Anyway, this is taking us off topic! Perhaps a 'Dinocrats' thread is in order.

The funny thing is that it was meant to be an Inpro figure (there were mail-in offers with it pictured) but it never actually got included with the set. I have a blue Toyway one myself.

It's prices on eBay for this Natural History Museum,London model that make me realize that picking it up in the Maryland Science Center when it was new in 1991 was the right thing to do,especially since later that year,the whole Invicta line would no longer be sold in the U.S.

No, I have all the figures but not the mountain.  I don't know of anyone who ever had the mountain, but it does proceed the Carnegie Mountain.  I just think it is something for wish list.

This morning, I have looked my lost figures of Invicta and more figures of other companies. My T-Rex, Megalosaurus, Scelidosaurus, Iguanodon, Stegosaurus, Glyptodon, Pteranodon and Woolly Mammoth. I am happy  .

I've got the unpainted Megalosaurus (one of my favorite Theropod toys), Mammoth (one of the tusks fell out), Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus, and Stegosaurus. Shame they're so rare. I can't think of any other companies that made to-scale Megalosaurus and Cetiosaurus. They did Liopleurodon before WWD made them cool
