Your preview of the Battat Terra  T-Rex repaint looks stunning and I like how the color scheme co-ordinates with the new Safari Triceratops. It vaguely reminds me of the old Brian Franzak pattern on the original Battat Tyrannosaurus' versions 1-3, but vastly more subtle and improved. I look forward to seeing your finished work.Well done!

Thank you all for the kind words!

The raptors are from Khurasan Niniatures.

They do a few other dinosaurs that are really neat. I have the Triceratops pair, the Rex, and the Anky (which is my favorite). I think the Edmontosaurus are new... I'll need to pick them up at some point!  O:-)

Too beauties!
I already knew, which ones the male and which ones the female, before looking at the single pics! :)

Could you show us, how small these are?
They look soooo tiny! ^-^

They are quite small! Here's a pic of one in my hand:

They are in 1/100 scale.

In other updates, I finally started on a build-a-raptor kit.

With any luck, it will come out looking like the ref image:

Mini Minmi

Ouh! I'm looking forward to that one, it already looks off to a great start towards that image!

Beegfood

Wow, that is tiny!

Your Raptor already looks good! Kind of like an arctic predator

Paleodude

I can't wait you to see the finished product! The rusted undertones combined with the dark markings will really make it yet another excellent masterpiece from you. Do keep us updated.

Been a while... wish I was working on these thing a little faster, but whatcha gonna do.

Did one of the lovely shapeways Paras:

And a very early start on the liquid eye neanderthals:

That Parasaurolophus is so beautiful!

And it's awesome to see that you decided to go through with that build-a-raptor, the feathers you added on are such a nice touch! I was excited to see how that design would look on the raptors, it looks fantastic :D

Nice work! How is the paint on the raptor holding up? Can the dinosaur be posed without scraping away the paintwork?

Oh, and what do you do with the others heads/tails etc. from the build-a-raptor?

Thanks! Its ending up way more colorful than the reference image, but I don't have much vibrant stuff so I went wild with it. Still  have some finishing touches that need to be done, but I'm getting close  ^-^

The paint definitely chips away at the joints, but my solution to this was to keep the areas around the joints painted very dark so I can easily touch them back up. Nothing has been sealed yet, so I'm hoping that will help, but I'm not overly optimistic. I probably should have cut out some of the plastic around the joints, but I didn't see that tip until after I started.

I still have all the other pieces, minus the extra set of arm feathers which I used for the legs. If you (or anyone) needs extra bits, I don't mind getting rid of them.

Mini Minmi

That raptor is so colorful, I love how you mixed in orange and magenta and tons of different shades of red, it makes it very vibrant.

That parasaurolophus is beautiful! I love how you combine spots and stripes of black and white. You did something similar on your triceratops, it's not a pattern I have seen often on figures but it looks so natural and plausibile the way you do it.

Thank you! Admittedly I'm a bit of a one trick pony when it comes to color pallets. It like beiges, earth tones, and black. But I'm trying to branch out more. It just sort of worked out that the folks making the Prehistoric Kingdom game posted an image of a Para that exactly mirrors my sensibilities  :o

Aww, that's a shame. I see you're using Citadel paint too, which is probably the best paint you could have chosen. Paint chipping is the reason why I'm so hesitant to purchase these kits. I'd hate to put so much work into it only to see it chip off.

ZoPteryx

Amazing work on these!  I really like the way you added the feathers to the raptor's thigh, very inventive!

A million years later and this big guy is finally done  :o

Deinonychus resin model by Nick Fonseca
I'll try and get some better shots of the underside and tail. They have different patterns and look pretty neat, but its about to rain here so I needed to snap these quickly.

ceratopsian

Beautiful work. I love the gradations within the colour that you have achieved.

PhilSauria

This model is new to me but great paint work though. As the BOTM figures have shown feathers can have brighter colours and not look odd on these impressive animals. They really should stop calling the Raptors in the JP / JW films Raptors - these are Raptors!
