Nobody is going to talk about Urvogel. Its German for archaeopterx.  And saltriosaurio, italian for saltriovenator.
In hindi, stegosaurs could be called "Varmasarat" and Dinosaur"Bhimasarat"

This is a fun game. Here's some of my ideas:

     Spinosaurus = the greater spined dinocroc
Ceratopsids = frill beaks
     Torosaurus = lesser three-horned frill-beak
     Triceratops = greater three-horned frill-beak
     Pachyrhinosaurus = thick-nose frill-beak
     Psittacosaurus = quilled spike cheek

Can I stretch this discussion beyond dinosaurs and into other prehistoric animals? Several prehistoric fish have informal common names.

Xiphactinus is the bulldog fish, for instance, and Enchodus is the sabre-toothed herring.

Another fish, however, has no common name: Gillicus.



So, suggestions for Gillicus, please! I need one for a project I'm working on.

Reviving an old thread, Inaturalist refers to Allosaurus fragilis as "Fragile Allosaur" and Acrocanthosaurus atokensis as "Acro". They are rather uncreative common names but it's interesting
