Nice acquisition avatar_UK @UK, I need to get ahold of this figure one day!
Also did you paint it your self? Nice work to you and or the artist

Amazingly my only Invicta figure now.

:D Now that's a beautiful repaint. Adorable! Very nice find. Does this talented figure painter do more?

Blackdanter

Congrats on that Invicta UK. Whoever did it, it's a stellar repaint.

Gothmog the Baryonyx

Some more lovely figures. I quite like the Crystal Palace dinosaur bronze statues you have there.

I have no artistic talent I'm afraid. I found it for sale on eBay and grabbed it. It looks far better in the flesh.

There is a timpo stegosaurus for sale on eBay John avatar_Blackdanter @Blackdanter. Pricey but reflects the rarity of it.

I did chase down many figures from Japan but not to your standards.

Sorry but it looks like a one off sale Helge.

Hope you're well.

Finally found some space for my Favorite diorama, great for the Dawn of the Dinosaur figures.

Blackdanter

Do Favorite still market those Georamas? Always wanted one but could never find an affordable (to get to the UK) seller.

Thanks for the heads up. Might just be tempted.

For years the Black Hills Institute sold these - several types in fact, but gradually fewer and fewer. I just checked their site this morning and I couldn't find any, so perhaps that's that.

Indeed. I used to regularly look at them on their online site but the cost to get them to the UK was just not worth it. :O(

Favorite Georamas were discontinued long ago.
Like any resin model, even those dioramas were extremely fragile and really hard to ship (and, of course, expensive..).
Black Hills Institute had last of them on sale even after they were discontinued.
Now they're gone also on BHI and the only way to buy one could be Ebay or second hand stores..

They certainly were unique, special products. Since I have the Favorite Soft line from beginning to present, but not one of these dioramas, I sometimes wish that I'd acquired one or more of these, but space was always an issue I guess, and the cost, of course. As avatar_RobinGoodfellow @RobinGoodfellow states, the shipping would have been something else..

It cost me an arm and a leg John. And despite amazing packaging, it suffered some issues in transit.

Customs had their share and parcel force their fee to collect the tax.

Must have been £300+ in total with the display but it does look great and it's a solid piece.

Gothmog the Baryonyx

I love the diorama, it is beautiful, like something out of one of those old textbooks come to life. And the scenery is excellent.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

SidB

As enchanting as I find these dioramas to be, I don't expect to see their like anytime soon, in view of the limited demand and today's shipping costs. I tend to regard the landscaped base, such as Rebor's recent release or the one's formerly provided by PNSO with their museum line as the latest and more economical expression of that phenomenon.

UK

Just a rehash of my shelves this morning. The Antidiluvian miniatures go quite nicely on the diorama.

Kiss is the only new comer to the collection.

SidB

Now that was an unique trip, avatar_UK @UK . Thanks for showing us this perspective of your collections.

I adore that diorama!  :)  I really wanna work with resin some time in the future, but it requires a lot of time to get into and new materials and tools to buy and learn about...
