I actually do really like this one but I'm more than happy to wait until there's at least a 25% off sale going on. Target seems to have those frequently enough.

Quote from: MLMjp on June 22, 2023, 10:30:15 AMNow the question is...

Does mattel creations have figured out the issue of allowing international orders despite not shipping internationally?

Because I don't want to pay for the gates just to receive nothing because they don't ship to my country, like what happened with the Ray Arnold set...and I had to call their customer service to get money back because they ignored all my mails... >:(

You could have them shipped to me and I can forward them to you?  Just an idea, I do a lot of international shipping.

avatar_Carnoking @Carnoking Same here. I'll save up in the meantime for it (concurrently for the Cyberzoic kickstarter).

avatar_Blade-of-the-Moon @Blade-of-the-Moon I kind of want to wait and see if there's more to it (fences, etc). I already have the 2001 (mostly complete) set so not sure I need one (which also had a nice wash on them), if it is only the gates (even if true to scale since the one in the film was massive after all). I'm more interested in a Visitor Center (similar to the Captivz or Lego way of doing it, exterior, and interior being the famous rotunda).

avatar_SpartanSquat @SpartanSquat I knew about the 2 coming in August, but the others are new. Glad we are getting another wave or 2 before the end of the year. Wonder what they'll be. Another Legacy reveal in November as well.

The august, september and october are new, we dont know what they will be.
My bets:
August/September: Probably 2 medium size dinosaurs or 2 small ones (dinosaur and humans). Mines here: Nasutoceratops,Sinoceratops, Juvenile Allosaurus from FK, Indoraptor or Carnotaurus. And if they want a non canon dino: Edmontosaurus. In the small ones I want a Roland Tembo in humans and in dinosaurs Im between Stygimoloch or Pyroraptor.
The october release: Im between Spinosaurus or Indominus.

Nasutoceratops, Pyroraptor (with wings this time), and Spinosaurus, and TLW buck Tyrannosaurus are at the top of my HC wishlist. Really need a new size class for things like Allosaurus, Carnotaurus, and Stegosaurus.

Here's where we stand as far as species (and major variations) from films and Camp Cretaceous:
Spoiler
Jurassic Park:
-Brachiosaurus
-Dilophosaurus
-Gallimimus (based on JW viral website design)
-Parasaurolophus
-Triceratops
-Tyrannosaurus
-Velociraptor (JW head sculpt)

The Lost World: Jurassic Park:
-Compsognathus
-Geosternbergia (cut concept design, missing pycnofibers)
-Mamenchisaurus
-Pachycephalosaurus
-Parasaurolophus (based on JW film design)
-Pteranodon
-Stegosaurus
-Stegosaurus baby
-Tyrannosaurus doe
-Tyrannosaurus buck
-Tyrannosaurus baby
-Velociraptor male

Jurassic Park III:
-Ankylosaurus
-Brachiosaurus
-Ceratosaurus
-Corythosaurus
-Parasaurolophus
-Pteranodon (technically done, through the prior AC series)
-Spinosaurus
-Tyrannosaurus male
-Velociraptor male
-Velociraptor female

Jurassic World:
-Ankylosaurus
-Apatosaurus
-Dimorphodon
-Indominus rex
-Mosasaurus
-Pteranodon
-Stegosaurus (can't imagine the beak-less dragging tail design is popular though, but is a major redesign)
-Triceratops (much different then the JP design, and not as popular as it)
-Tyrannosaurus
-Velociraptor Blue
-Velociraptor Charlie
-Velociraptor Delta
-Velociraptor Echo

Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom:
-Allosaurus juvenile
-Baryonyx
-Brachiosaurus
-Carnotaurus
-Indoraptor (original super posable is like the original HC figure)
-Sinoceratops
-Stygimoloch

Jurassic World Dominion/BaBR/Prologue:
-Allosaurus adult
-Atrociraptor Ghost
-Atrociraptor Panthera
-Atrociraptor Red
-Atrociraptor Tiger
-Baryonyx (prosthetic arm)
-Carnotaurus (adult demon, and juvenile)
-Dilophosaurus
-Dimetrodon
-Dreadnoughtus
-Giganotosaurus
-Iguanodon
-Lystrosaurus
-Microceratus
-Moros
-Oviraptor
-Nasutoceratops (male, female, BaBR and Dominion baby variations)
-Parasaurolophus (three major color variants)
-Pyroraptor
-Quetzalcoatlus
-Therizinosaurus
-Velociraptor Beta

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous:
-Ankylosaurus Bumpy (adult and baby)
-Baryonyx Grim
-Baryonyx Chaos
-Baryonyx Limbo
-Carnotaurus Toro
-Kentrosaurus Pierce
-Monolophosaurus (green)
-Monolophosaurus (black)
-Monolophosaurus (orange)
-Nothosaurus
-Ouranosaurus
-Parasaurolophus lux
-Scorpios rex
-Sino-spino
-Sinoceratops (grey)
-Smilodon
-Spinosaurus
-Stegosaurus (two major color variations)
-Tarbosaurus
-Tyrannosaurus Big Eatie
-Tyrannosaurus Little Eatie

Wonder if we will see a sneak peek of those in SDCC (silhouettes). Is Mattel attending this year?

SpartanSquat

Very highly. Mattel always attend to SDCC, so this year we will see the new line and new hammonds.

They could do add ons I suppose?  Some jungle pieces, maybe some fencing?  I just don't know if we would get a full visitor center. That seems reaching? Though maybe if these others do well?  I'm not sure how they would go about it even?

YesIAmaDinosaur

I would be shocked by a full Visitors Center unless it's kind of bare bones, but Mattel doesn't typically do 'bare bones' anymore. If we do get that, it'd have a lot of electronics and bells and whistles which would definitely up the price point.

With that said, if it's the gates and a bunch of fencing, I am ordering multiple. I would go out of my way to load up on fences here and just sell off what I didn't need. Sounds like a dream come true, but we'll see!

I'd also expect more than one of the tiers to be either a human or a dinosaur, obviously.

A full blown visitor center would be huge too. Remember, a T. rex could fit in there with ease!

I guess they could just do a version like the command compound? slightly updated for 200.00?

I am debating heavily on whether I should pick up the HC Brachiosaurus or not...

The paintwork and articulation are leagues ahead of the original Legacy Collection one. But I feel that the proportions are better on the Legacy version, the HC one potentilly having an oversized head and tail. The head sculpt is certainly more refined on the HC, and closely resembles the SWS animatronic; compare that to the Legacy which is more reminiscent of McCreery's concept artwork. Very tough decision, and that $85 price tag is certainly not cheap.

For anyone who needs to refresh their memory on the JP Design:

For me the head sculpt sold it. That's head we saw when Grant and the kid's fed got up close and personal, it's friendly and has the right character.
The additional detail, improved paint and ability to stand upright are all bonuses.   I might eventually get a second one when it goes on sale and add the the little slick lines of snot on it's head.  Watching Collect Jurassic's review I kept kinda wishing there was a feature for you spray water in a mist out of the head lol   The only other thing that could really plus this would be sound.  Maybe we'll get that with the Super Colossal Brachi ?  ;)

Gwangi

I feel like if you're not actively playing with the articulation and photographing your toys then you probably don't need the HC Brachiosaurus. As much as I love the Hammond Collection they still spend 99% of the time standing on a shelf. For that purpose, the Legacy Brachiosaurus is fine. Personally, I don't fiddle with these toys enough to spend $80+ on it. If I didn't already have the Legacy then I might make an exception.

Keep in mind that there are always sales to take advantage of. The HC Brachiosaurus will eventually go for 25% off, maybe even more.

I got a bunch of pictures for my HC Ankylosaurus review today, which I finally unboxed today, including a group shot of the Legacy Spinosaurus, HC Ceratosaurus, HC male raptor, and the AC Pteranodon. Will need to update it once the Corythosaurus is on hand though (pre-ordered through Entertainment Earth). Maybe I'll hold off on finishing and submitting the review until then.

Still debating if I want to pick up that JPIII female raptor set or not yet either, which of course would help complete the available JPIII selection. I wasn't particularly a fan of how the female raptor was handled, but that may be an easy fix (really it is just the inaccurate belly paint that bothers me most, other then the issues with the sculpt, but I'll get to that below). Grant and the included accessories are really nice though, but I don't particularly need them. Having them would complete the JPIII selection though, and would be great for a fuller comparison pic. What do folks here think? Yay or nay on picking that set up?

Debating if I'll do a review for the HC male JPIII raptor as well, but I did take some pics of it. I ordered it alongside the HC Concavenator on Entertainment Earth months back/early in the year (FOMO with that one was bad at the time), and it arrived like a week or two ago. Of course the sculpt still has wonky proportions (huge feet, short tail, quills, etc) of the previous HC figures, but in hand it's a not as bad as my first impressions of it from reviews and whatnot. I mean I was really disappointed, even angry, after some of the first in hand pics and video reviews came out of it, when it looked rather good in the promo pics to me. Some of those earlier samples had particularly bad QC in regards to how the yellow paint on the belly and tail connected, which didn't help matters with those first impressions, but on my sample it seems improved. Rest of the paint QC seems fine as well. Only the jaw is a bit wonky on the left side, similar to the older AC raptors, but it still closes for the most part. Somehow the squinty eyes don't look nearly as squinty in hand either, but well I know they still are. The quills are still disappointing, and the ones on the electronic raptor were done far better, if not the recent green and yellow mainline Atrociraptor, with actual rubber quills like on the older AC figure. I also think the way the paint was applied on the head of the electronic figure is much better too (aside from the inaccurate slit pupils). Here's some pics of what my sample is like (forgive the lighting, have to make do with interior only lighting as a result of my current living situation):

Didn't think to grab the original quilled jumping raptor sculpt out of storage when I was there the other day for comparisons. That said not in any particular rush for reviewing that figure with my backlog, and if anyone else wants to review it, then be my guest. I did grab a comparison today between it and the bigger electronic one, just in case if I do it, or if anyone else wants to do it, I can give them the pic. Come to think of it, I forgot to get a comparison between the original AC figure (which is on hand, though still in box), and this HC one. I can do that tomorrow or whenever.

Edit: Forgot to add this quick comparison between the HC Ankylosaurus and Bumpy too. I really hope we can get a HC Bumpy. The tail articulation on this one is really fun.
