Quote from: Faelrin on July 06, 2023, 06:54:56 PMI agree with avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi it would have been nice to see the most recent (if not previous) CollectA Mosasaurus included, but understandable if you do not have it on hand.

Also man Safari Ltd is way overdue for a new Mosasaurus. Schleich's is far from accurate, but even so it is way more up to date then Safari Ltd's older take on it.

That Safari Mosasaurus has been around since I got into this hobby in 2010. I didn't even like it back then. It's amazing how many amazing sculpts Safari releases and then retires vs. how many mediocre ones stick around. Is this thing really a good seller? I can't believe it.

I took a look on their website and there's still quite a few dated/older models that are not retired yet, so they must sell well enough to keep around, for better or worse.

-Allosaurus 284929
-Baby Brachiosaurus 301229
-Brachiosaurus 278229
-Brachiosaurus 300229
-Dilophosaurus 287829
-Dunkleosteus 283329 (good for the time, but really needs an update)
-Mosasaurus 287629
-Pteranodon 279229
-Pterosaur 299729 (not sure if outdated, but is an older model)
-Rhamphorhynchus 300329
-Stegosaurus 284429
-Tapejara 284229
-Tyrannosaurus baby 298929
-Triceratops 284529
-Tyrannosaurus 298529
-Tyrannosaurus 300729
-Tyrannosaurus 100423
-Velociraptor 299929

Edit: I've greatly expanded this post here.

It's funny that right after I completed editing that episode and Jorge had already left for a month for a expedition - we received our CollectA shipment that contained both the new #88975 and the old #88677 CollectA Mosasaurus figures.

So upon his return, we will do an episode 3.1 to update that video with all 6 figures.

What unlucky timing but we will get all the info out there.

Thank you for the feedback on more info is better.  We have a few more episodes to release that were filmed prior to his
departure, but once we start filming new episodes will go that route.

All feedback is appreciated.

That's frustrating, but I'm happy to hear you'll be stocking the new CollectA Mosasaurus.  ;D

Good to see you plan to update it, despite the earlier poor timing. Hope it isn't too much trouble for you guys. It's great to have something like this out there, aside from the occasional Your Dinosaurs are Wrong video anyways.

Kronosaurus Time.

Happy Hen Toys has hired a Paleontologist to review the figures for accuracy
as judged against the fossil record that exists.  Here is the link to our fourth episode.

In this episode Jorge has to politely correct my ignorance - you may find it funny.

Man, Schleich has really nailed the high-end knockoff look, haven't they?
Sorry if that sounds rude; but that Edmonto comparison just reminds me how embarrassing of a difference there is. Likewise with the Mosasaurs.

Speaking of the Mosasaurs, the Papo and PNSO figures easily outclass both the Schleich and Safari figures, in presentation if not in accuracy. I echo avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi's sentiments that Safari's figure is bad and has always looked bad. I'm a person who almost always favors Safari Ltd. first out of all the brands, but that Mosasaur was a total misfire out of the gates. I look forward to the revised comparison with Collecta's two figures.

Jorge and I were back in the studio this weekend and filmed the revision.  Just need to get the editing done which is the longest part.  We are introducing a "mugshot" section in the revision.  Hopefully it will add value.

Thanks for the feedback.

I noticed through an email, that you are now carrying the Beasts of the Mesozoic figures, which is great news. Going forward will you be able to include these in these kinds of comparisons? Like I think the previous Microraptor one would have benefited from including the BotM version, but you didn't carry it at the time.

Based on the BotM genera currently available, and thinking of those specifically with enough figures to make these comparisons worthwhile, from BotM and other brands, maybe Diabloceratops, Pachyrhinosaurus, Protoceratops, Psittacosaurus, and Velociraptor are good picks? Of course there's T. rex too, with good options from BotM, PNSO (Cameron and Wilson), Rebor (Tusk and Kiss), Safari Ltd, etc. Eofauna also has one coming out, but like no idea when. Would it be worth holding off on doing a comparison for just that one though?

Gwangi

I watched the second Mosasaurus video and really liked the format of that one, with the comparison pictures and chart.

EmperorDinobot

Is there a guide for playsets and trees and that kin of stuff?

Fembrogon

I also liked the format of this new video; the detailed breakdown of different features is great for assessing the pros and cons of each model.

CollectA is definitely at the top of the game for this genus.

Not yet, but a good idea - will put it on the list.

We will include the BOM where applicable going forward now that we are carrying the line.  We have GR dinos coming also and will include those also.  Thanks !

Yes, I was perusing your wares, the other day. I'm thinking about buying some Schleich playsets, trees, etc, but not for a while, as my pc broke completely. I've ordered a bunch of mini PNSO figures, though. I'll get the former during the fall.

I just wanted to mention that this comparison shot from the latest guide episode is marvelously illustrative (and lowkey hilarious):

Thanks for the shout out.  We have started doing "MUGSHOTS" in all our videos - and not just faces - any key comparison features gets a mugshot.  We have not been posting to the Happy Hen Toys website because we are moving to a new tech platform - but will catchup after the migration is complete.  Thanks for watching the video and please spread the word.  HHT

We recognize that money is tight.  If you are on our email list we typically have a store wide coupon in October.  If you can - sign up and wait for that.  We also are adding Haolonggood right now - so those will be online by then.   HHT

Oh, hey, that's fantastic news! Makes it so much easier to have a Haolonggood distributor in the States. Looking forward to picking up some of those before the end of the year.
