Quote from: Libraraptor on September 14, 2023, 07:39:31 AMI have seen the Compsognathus "corallestris" in an old 70s book, so it was not inspired by the future is wild.

That would be "Die Welt der Dinosaurier" by L.B. Halstead from 1975...which was available in German stores till the early 90s. Wow. But then again, I've seen worse examples.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

avatar_Libraraptor @Libraraptor If that was in response to my post, I think you misunderstood what I was meaning or trying to convey?

In any case I will try to clarify hear/be more clear. When I said "or After Man which certainly served as inspiration for it", I meant that it had served as inspiration for The Future is Wild series, as Dougal Dixon worked on both. I did not mean to convey that the 1970's Compsognathus reconstruction was inspired by either series or book. I had only meant that the 1970's Compsognathus reconstruction reminded me of the wacky stuff in that series, or the prior book.

This project reminds me of (but clearly unaffiliated with) that "company" in Central or South America that had lots of renders of classic retro dinos including the Crystal Palace dinosaurs but went radio silent and nothing ever materialized.

Hopefully, this Kickstarter is nice and successful and shares nothing in common with that, as I'm really impressed by the style of these! Would be great to see the underappreciated niche of retro dino reconstructions get some love, just for fun.

Hey avatar_Ankyloranodon @Ankyloranodon , that would be the Mesozoica project. I was very disappointed when that didn't go ahead. I'm fully invested in making this work by all means necessary  ;D

Mentioning failed/scam kickstarters in relation to a new project is major bad luck, so I drew you a good-luck-osaurus to bring the project good luck and restore the balance.

Here's a little update: a size comparison of the 1:35 scale 1960s Iguanodon against its vintage counterparts.

Libraraptor

Seeing a picture like that, honestly I have to curb my emotions.   :o  :o  What a stunning trio that is!

What a fun shot! I can't wait to see more.

Gorgeous Iguanodon! Love how this is materializing, looking forward to more and the project's hopeful success!

Different Mesozoica. This one never had a Kickstarter or even materialized a means of accepting money. Lot of work went into doing the sculpting and prototyping, showing them off to the public, but then the whole project went radio silent. Tragic loss of potential, but no apparent scam involved.

Well @&$#.

I just realized, I'll have to get TWO sets, so I can have one painted up full color.

That Iguanodon is majestic.

avatar_Over9K @Over9K Thank you very much! The best way to make sure you'll be able to get them is to spread the word!

Halichoeres

So, front to back, that's the Invicta, the Kleinwelka, and yours?

Here is another update. The prototype 1:10 scale 1970s Compsognathus:

Newt

The Compsognathus looks great, I love the horseshoe crab on the base. What a fantastic idea for a series! I look forward to seeing what else you come up with and will definitely back the Kickstarter if finances allow.
