He did make a good point about the stripe on the leg, which is kind of a bummer, but I think that's probably really the only issue here, which will only be a problem for certain poses in like toy photography, that kind of stuff. Comparing some of those other Blue figures/raptor sculpts, it looks like the leg joints on the HC figure start higher up on the hip, so having the stripe on the leg might be a compromise. It's probably an easy fix to re-adjust the stripe around with some grey (or some kind of paint remover like acetone I think), blue and white paint.

After watching both Marco's video, and the Beyond the Gates video, the glass eyes do look a tad too dark in some of the lighting, but well that might be a lighting thing. Hopefully it will be brighter in more neutral lighting. Rest of it is looking good, so I'm looking forward to getting it. I even considered pre-ordering it, but having a date so far out I don't see the point in doing so now. Besides I tend to prefer picking these up in hand anyways, when at all possible.

avatar_Prehistory Resurrection @Prehistory Resurrection Wow I'm surprised to see pics like these out there already. Wow what a difference those changes made. Now they really really need to fix up the previous three HC raptors.

Edit: Okay something else I just realized. Yeah it shouldn't have a white jaw either. All their previous Blue figures had the proper grey jaw. Hopefully an easy fix with some grey paint. Edit 2: Also the glass eye in that one pic makes it looks pretty soulless. Definitely gonna need to see this one in person, to see how it functions on display.

Blade-of-the-Moon

it's definetly better.   I'm just starting to wonder if I should for the 35 Anniversary for even better ones? ;)

Gwangi

The stripe through the leg and white jaw are unfortunate. I don't understand how Mattel can make mistakes like this while simultaneously trying to improve their products.  Two steps forward, three steps back. In this case maybe one step back, because the pros do outweigh the cons. But yeah, for a character like Blue that Mattel has made countless times and is featured on their packaging, any mistake is a head scratcher. The glass eyes do give a vacant, soulless look to the figure too. Odd since they're supposed to do the opposite of that. I'll still get it though.

Oh wow that raptor sculpt is a massive improvement. Makes me excited for a future tlw raptor (and hopefully a remade jp1 raptor cuz yeesh)

Looks to me the bright folks at Mattel decided to go for the Camp Cretaceous design of Blue rather than the infinitely more popular one portrayed in the actual movies ::) .

That being said, very glad they decided to touch up the HC raptor sculpt. I've always been an advocate that the original was atricious, with the clown feet, poorly designed jaw and odd proportions. I'd like to see the (eventual) TLW raptors using this body sculpt too. While a guy can dream, I highly doubt they'd bother giving the TLW versions new head sculpts. Same goes for JP1 raptors if they ever decide to reissue it in that deco on this new sculpt.

The shrunk feet are a very very welcome change, would like to see anyone try to defend the original's clown feet after this point O:-)

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Wow that explains all those "issues". Those being the subtle crests/ridges on the skull, the white jaw, and the maybe the stripes on the legs (though they still look a little too far down to even that design). Good catch there. It's the same thing that happened with the mainline Savage Strike Echo (which I guess makes sense, as the line it was part of, was tied to the show), and also the Amber Collection one (which didn't make as much sense).

Honestly I kinda like the white underbelly and jaw a bit more. Breaks up the design a bit and makes it more visually interesting. I always thought the JW raptors were pretty boring to look at and this helps a lot. Probably in the minority with that opinion but hey

Another new reveal from Mattel for next year; Mission Mayhem Truck Playset, featuring a vehicle with Capture claws and a repainted Einiosaurus. Part of the Epic Evolution Line for next year;

Gwangi

Another shot at the Einiosaurus is nice, I guess. I really don't care about the vehicle though. Missed opportunity to make another Lost World vehicle.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I do like we get the opportunity to get these rarer dinos again without paying a ton. Vehicle is certainly based on the Lost World. I have a feeling we will get a proper release of that one too though eventually.

Faelrin

Nice to see a repaint of the Einiosaurus. Looks nice.

Carnoking

Pretty good looking repaint I must say

Eatmycar

Car looks great, dinosaur looks great.

I would've preferred if we got a Biosyn Jeep Gladiator to be frank, but this is good.

It's shocking that they didn't put one out for Dominion. Opinions about the movie aside I found the Biosyn Jeep Gladiator to be a really cool vehicle. I plan on getting the Jada one eventually.

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi There was the Matchbox RC one, but it weirdly had the Jurassic World logo on it, and not the Biosyn one.

Isn't there a remote control one by Mattel that came with a Dracorex?
*Edit: Faelrin posted that same comment while I was typing this.

Gwangi

I forgot about that one. Must not have grabbed my attention since it had the wrong logo.

Eatmycar

I don't hate the RC one - I don't own it FYI. But... it looks too RC for me proportion-wise. The tires seem too big, and I'm not sure if you can strip it down and gut it to make it more like a proper car, which is frustrating.
