At this point I feel TNG deserves its own 'New for..' thread as these images of prototypes of upcoming models clearly shows they are original sculpts. And what do you know? More Cenozoic mammals among which a long awaited, much requested Megatheriid! The Arsinoitherium looks pretty spectacular as well. Exciting stuff!

I'm not entirely sure if some of the stuff seen here was for 2023 or not. Haven't seen a good bit of it released yet. The ones with images are the only ones I saw listed on either ebay or Aliexpress, found through search engines, and some aren't available anymore.

Feel free to use that info for the op if need be.

is there a way to view their online catalogue as I feel they're also doing modern day animals as seen with the snakes in the background

avatar_JimoAi @JimoAi Closest would be checking out the brochure in Andys's video in the post I linked above, unless more info turns up. Most of the extant stuff is your standard fair that like every company does though.

I think the figurines in the brochure are distributed in China.
But as the aliexpress retailers had pre-ordered them. I think they've stocked up on the ones that were pre-ordered a lot and taken the others out of their shops.
But that's just a guess.

Thanks avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, I'll have a look at it.

Stuckasaurus (Dino Dad Reviews)

I am curious about the distribution of some of the ones we haven't seen much of yet. Fortunately, the best-looking models seem to generally be the most readily available. Wasn't there an expo photo floating around somewhere that seemed to show a therezinosaur in the lineup?

avatar_Stuckasaurus (Dino Dad Reviews) @Stuckasaurus (Dino Dad Reviews) You can see it in the first post of this thread. Some of the aliexpress listings have that image as well.

I'd love some of those massive snakes, are those offered anywhere?

Like their trike - they even seem to have nailed the fore limbs and toes. Will be on the lookout for one.

New pics of the Megatherium and the Arsinoitherium, posted by Paleofiguras:

I'm not an expert on prehistoric mammals, does anyone know how accurate are the Megatherium's manus and pes? I've seen several reconstructions that differ in this aspect.

Neither am I, but from what I can see the digits & claws on the forelimbs are too equal in size and length. A shame because anatomical diagrams like these exist. Particularly egregious is the oversized and overdeveloped digit V. Feels more like what pop-culture expects Megatherium to be rather than the actual animal itself.

The Arsinotherium doesn't look as refined as the previous mammals IMO. It just looks rather smooth lacking much muscle definition. Still, I like it better than the two retired ones by CollectA and Safari.

Anyone know who made those Cambrian figures? The Opabinia, Wiwaxia, and Hallucigenia on the blue stands. There's two more off to the side from them, but not sure what they are. Any guesses?

Wait woah how did I miss that. Was too focused on the mammals that I glanced over the main event! Would definitely like to see TNG branching out to Cambrian critters. They've done some good work on their extant inverts, so I'm hoping the (potential) Cambrian stuff holds up as nicely!

The Hallucigenia Opabinia and look like the Trilobiti Design sculpts to me.

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Thank you for the explanation, though I'm not sure I understand it... sorry, anatomy is definitely not my thing.  :-[

Based on the first image you shared, what I understand is that the pes of Megatherium only has one claw (on DII)? Based on the caption.

If that's the case, then the figure appears to get that right.

When it comes to the 2nd reference, is DI the innermost digit? If that's so and DV is the outermost one... I don't see it in the pic, to me it looks like its being obscured by the angle of the photo. Perhaps you were referring to DI being oversized instead?

Again, sorry for the possibly dumb questions.

Also, which do you think has better manus and pes anatomy, the TNG or the Kaiyodo?

Also, I hope the TNG Megatherium does have a tail lol. Based on the WIP posted at the beginning on the page, I see no sign of a tail on the sculpt...

I definitely want a Megatherium for my collection. I'd rather have the TNG because of scale and lack of base, but if the Kaiyodo is clearly better I might go for it instead. Well, there might be one from BotC too...
