avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector Would you be able to replace the images for these two Mojo Fun figures with these new ones? White background instead of the black background to be more consistent with the rest of their figures.

Edit: I'm in the middle of updating the older Paleozoo models and adding the new 2024 ones. I realized there are different versions of their models, such as with Charnia and Tiktaalik (while browsing the forum's posts and the website with the wayback machine). I was in the process of getting the Tiktaalik ones updated and added, when my laptop's battery died. My cord is in a pretty bad state and sometimes it works while I'm working on things, other times it doesn't. Well with the past hour or so it was one of those times.

I'll make another edit once I can resume work and finish it. Could be about an hour from now while it charges up. I'd highly recommend folks update their collections and wishlists with it all. Oh and I got the Meng Zhuchengtitan up earlier today after adding the unpainted Sanctum models.

Edit 2: I'm mostly finished updating the Paleozoo things. As far as the different Charnia and Tiktaalik versions go, they are all added now. Partway through adding the 2024 things, etc. Problem is the battery on my laptop ran out again. Cord seems to have given out for sure this time. Might not be until another week before I can get another new one or so. So uh that sucks and it will be a bit of a wait before I can resume things.

Concavenator

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector Have you considered the possibility of letting users suggest images for the figures?

I like the sound of that! :)

Sim

Just in case they had been forgotten about, the Eikoh infinity(?) Stegosaurus and Mosasaurus are still not on the dinotoycollector site...

Faelrin

avatar_Sim @Sim Not forgotten. Didn't get to it yet sorry. Laptop still has a dead battery and I still have those and more to add to the site (new PNSO, Mattel, etc). Still waiting for the new charger I ordered to arrive. I couldn't even finish adding the 2024 Paleozoo stuff before the cord went out and the battery died on me.

I think it makes no sense to list all those HAOLONGGOOD designer editions. They're all one of a kind repaints and only Americans can buy them.
In the near future there'll be dozens of different paint jobs for each species, this will make the listings confusing.

I would fully agree with that. Even some MuSee studio or Linghu studio resin models have better availability. They are at least produced in numbers of a few hundred pieces which have the same paint design.

Chasmosaurus

But this will ensure that these figurines never fall into oblivion. The site also serves as an archive of what may have existed, even if very few were produced.
Man is only interested in what he invents while what surrounds him is made in a much more extraordinary and complex way

I do understand your point. But where do you draw the boundary? For obvious reasons one cannot list every model individually painted by a paleoartist. Also not every individual repaint of a mass produced model. Also not every 3D printed model as there are now quite many 3D paleoartists that produce printable models. How many of these designer editions of the Haolonggood models are actually produced? Are these 10 or 100 or more? Do they all have the same paint designs or do the designs vary? Just yesterday two different paint variants of the Tlatolophus appeared. This boils down to what would be the criteria for being listed and not being listed in the database. I simply do not know the answers to these questions.

I have been adding them to archive them despite their extremely limited nature. I didn't really think about some of those things at the time, so my apologies. Perhaps they would be better archived in like a thread here instead.

I don't think I have a way to delete entries anymore after the new database editor redesign. I'd like to first back up the ones added on there before they may be removed however. I can hold off adding any new ones in the future though.

No reason for apologies and my comment was not meant as a criticism. My intention was to initiate a discussion on the criteria that you use for adding a model. The dinosaur figure and model market is undergoing some significant changes right now with the appearance of new companies like Haolonggood and new paleoart studios and individual designers and this leads to having to reevaluate what should be added and what should not be added to this database. Criteria that seemed useful a year ago may not be that useful any more in light of recent changes, like for example now several paint variants of these Haolonggood designer editions surfacing. At former times they appeared rarely and only one variant, now we get more and very different ones. Not possible to foresee this in any way. I would really be curious how many copies of each of these are actually produced.

Same here. Nobody could know that HAOLONGGOOD would start releasing different paint schemes for each figure.
If they'd only do one per figure it would make sense to list them.

I finally got my laptop charger and it is back in working order now. I fixed a few things and added the PNSO Tyrannotitan. I was digging through the thread and taking notes earlier today of everything I need to finish working on, fixing, adding images for, etc. I still have quite a lot to still do, but will address that as I have the energy/interest in it (I don't have much today).

I will try to get the Mattel 2024 stuff updated today as well (mostly images I think, and a few sets need added maybe). Maybe the rest of the 2024 Paleozoo (and older in case I've missed any prior to the laptop charger problem) if I have the energy for it.

Gwangi

Are there any plans to add the Captivz to the site? I think they're the only part of my collection that isn't on there.

Faelrin

#935
avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi Yeah it is also on the to-do list.

Edit: Okay nearly all of the 2024 Mattel Jurassic World figures have been added now. Some missing codes and/or high quality pics were added, while others will need to wait. Only ones still need adding are the Series 2 Minis, and the Crushivores, but I think I can do that tomorrow or whenever. So the new Chaos Theory sets, etc are up.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Thanks for all the work as per usual. Just realized the new BotM releases can now be added, since preorders are up and pics of the finished figures are now available: Allosaurus fragilis, Deinonychus, Dilophosaurus and new Zuniceratops. And the first BotC release, the 1:12 Smilodon!

Faelrin

So I'm the process of still researching the Captivz figures. When I'm done that and get those up, everything will resume for every other request, etc. Just so folks know I'm not leaving them hanging.

Much appreciated. I didn't know it was you who ran the site! I only recently joined it and haven't been visiting this thread until now.

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi That would be avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector. I'm just one of several editors who has a lot of free time on their hands, per being disabled, so I do a lot of the work on updates and recent additions (sometimes old as well).

Edit: I'm nearly done compiling a list of all the Captivz releases since their initial launch in late 2020, but images might be another thing. Well I'll make a list of those once I got the stuff up on the site (including images I did manage to find).
