Quote from: crazy8wizard on October 08, 2024, 10:50:53 PMOn one hand I'm elated we're finally getting a really up to date argentinosaurus from a great company, but on the other hand I'm wondering if the rigorous approach to staying in the 1:35-1:40 range is kind of making accurate figures of big sauropods a little less accessible to the average collector due to size and cost.
Not saying this is a bad figure by any means, in fact it's a really spectacular one, I'm just noticing the trend of bigger and bigger sauropod figures.
well in terms of 1/35 I guess thesis as big as were getting

Bruhathkayosaurus next year?  :P
One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.

Turkeysaurus

There are plenty mid size sauropods for those who don't have enough space or money. There are also alternative companies who make large dinosaurs at smaller scale.

We can always save money for Argentinosaurus by collecting less amount of other dinosaur figures.

I am on the fence about this Argentinosaurus. I really like it, and it's a new genus/species for me. But, I have the CollectA Mamenchisaurus, Ruyangosaurus, and Dreadnoughtus and the PNSO Alamosaurus. Eventually, these all start to become minor variations on a theme, especially given the amount of space they take up, my major limiting factor these days.

suspsy

I have zero interest in acquiring any further gargantuan sauropod toys.

That's pretty much how I feel about it too. Which is why I prefer small and mid-sized sauropod genera with distinguishing features, like  Brachytrachelopan and Shunosaurus. Once you have your basic giant diplodocoid, macronarid, and titanosaur they all start to look the same. I like sauropods but they might be my least favorite dinosaur group to collect.

With titanosaurians, they tend to look the same because they are generally fragmentary and have their gaps filled in the same way.  That's why I don't get why people have kept asking for titanosaurians...  The CollectA Ruyangosaurus and Dreadnoughtus are basically the same thing, I think it's weird CollectA made both and made them look essentially the same.

Apatosaurus isn't thin at one end, by the way.

This has got me excited! A true 1/35 scale megasauropod. Now please lord let it be under $200. I really like this color scheme too. Something about sauropods with horizontal color bands really does it for me. Too many vertical striped paint jobs out there! This sculpt is a vast improvement over their Alamosaurus IMO, for some reason that sculpt had a very awkward esthetic to me and made me go with the smaller PNSO Alamo which is still the cream of the crop for elegant sauropods.

Sauropods have always been among my favourite Dinosaur groups to collect - just like thyreophorans, ornithischians, ceratopsians & theropods ;D .

Honestly I have no true 1:35 scale sauropods. I do have a couple sauropods in other scales but I definitely need to get more 1:35 scale ones. I definitely want to get this monster, depending on the price. I'm aware it's going to be expensive and shipping due to where I live is going to be terrible. I just hope it's not a half grand...

With international shipping I don't think that's possible. The Alamosaurus was $138 to Europe, shipping included.
It's a huge size difference - I mean the package (Argentinosaurus' tail is streched out). Huge packages tend to cost a lot unless you're willing to accept shipment per ocean freight, which I dislike.

Gunnersaurus

Seeing that next to the already gigantic alamosaurus  :o

I dread to think of how much this will cost.

Are you questioning Anne Elk's Theory on Brontosauruses?

Quote from: TlatolophusJuanorum on October 08, 2024, 08:21:44 PMYou could get into a Shaximiao's stegosaurid pack: Huayangosaurus,Chialingosaurus,  Gigantspinosaurus, Chungkingosaurus, Yingshangosaurus, or Bashanosaurus. They are some good remains in at least three of them, so that could do it. That would be a fair solution for smaller species that are relegated due to their sizes.  :))
No mention of Tuojiangosaurus makes me sad.  It's the largest and most impressive of the Shaximiao stegosaurians and it really needs an accurate figure.
I was unaware of the scale issue with PNSOs Tuojiangosaurus, but I dissagree with being the most impressive. I think Gigantspinosaurus deserves some love, the CollectA one is akward, to say the least.

*Ahem*

This might be the ultimate Sauropod toy. I'm a fan of 1:35 scale so I'll definitely be getting this.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Lana Time Shop has shipped quite some large packages to continental Europe using railway shipping with reasonable shipping costs. Of course you have to wait then for 4 to 6 weeks. So far this has worked quite well, but it seems that there are problems with this option now. Lana has therefore advised me to choose EMS shipping in the future.

Has there been any speculation about an HLG Dreadnoughtus in the future?

I have not seen any mentioning of a potential Haolonggood Dreadnoughtus, but after they have completed Argentinosaurus and then also Brachiosaurus there are of course many options. Personally I would think that a large diplodocid like Barosaurus, Supersaurus or even Maraapunisaurus would be a good option, not least because these look quite different from the macronarians they have produced and also from the Mamenchisaurus. But then Dreadnoughtus or Patagotitan may also be a good option.

Flaffy

Would it be possible to get some close up shots of the Argentinosaurus? Especially the head. V @vampiredesign

I'd like to have a comprehensive view of the sculpt and paint before committing so much money.

THOMAS100:

Thanks.

I was hoping for a Namu JURASSIC WORLD Dreadnoughtus because a paleontologist from my alma mater discovered a Dreadnoughtus neck bone, but a Nanmu Dreadnoughtus doesn't appear to be a sure thing, so I am hoping for an HLG Dreadnoughtus.

I also would like to see an HLG Astrodon because there's full-size replica of an Astrodon next to a skeleton of an Acrocanthosaurus in the museum about a mile from my alma mater

I would like an Astrodon too, even if there isn't much material for it. I live in Maryland where it's the state dinosaur.
