Turkeysaurus

I find the frog too boring to pay even if it's top quality.

Still hoping this comes with a baby dino to much on.. that would make it different enough.

Many individuals throughout history have employed this exact same apathetic sentiment as an excuse not to stand up and speak out against all manner of bigotry, injustice, and wrong. It's a pity.

Quote from: suspsy on September 19, 2024, 03:24:55 AMI'll say this about Rebor as well: I've never cared that much for their products and I've really never cared at all for their arrogance and their lack of professionalism, maturity, and courtesy. Right from the get go, they behaved as though they were the greatest thing to ever hit the dinosaur toy collecting community. They blatantly copied Jurassic Park designs. They denigrated other companies and other artists. They praised their own products to the sky and lashed out at any and all criticism. They encouraged their fans to rating bomb reviews on the blog. They constantly teased new designs that never, ever transitioned off the screen and into physical form. They feuded with manufacturers. And now there's this post, the proverbial rotten cherry on top.

If they really do go under, well, I'm genuinely sorry for the artists who will have to look for new employment, but I reckon the dinosaur toy community will not suffer all that greatly at all. For one thing, Nanmu is still around to satisfy all the hardcore Jurassic World fans. And for another, between PNSO, Haolonggood, Eofauna, Safari, and CollectA, there's no shortage of high quality, scientifically accurate prehistoric toys to choose from.

Sorry, I can't take you seriously.

The truth is never vitriolic, sorry. And I'd dearly love to see you show me one single statement in that quoted text that isn't factual. Indeed, I dare you to try. Or are you just going to try and blame all of Rebor's bad behaviour over the years on an AI again?

QuoteSorry, I can't take you seriously.

Because I don't adhere to the credo of purposely ignoring bad behaviour from a company so long as I still get to buy their products? That's rich.

Or just drop it altogether. People can get so confrontational on this forum. They're just dinosaur toys.

Though that does not excuse REBOR's past behaviour. Even if the recent accusations by the W-Dragon sculptor are made up, there is still a good amount of evidence of REBOR behaving unprofessionally, and treating other sculptors and members of their fanbase poorly. I just hope they change/have changed their ways. Despite their attitude, it would be a massive shame if they went under, no one deserves to lose their source of income like that. Also, it might be a little reductive to say they've lost their place in the hobby to the newcomers in the Jurassic Park and the "accurate" dinosaur niches, since there is also a secret third thing, so far unique to them; the 90s-2000s awesomebro-style. Exemplified by their "Saurophaganax", Triceratops, and Stegosaurus. I'm not hugely keen on their JP or "accurate" models, but I'm quite fond of their more "awesomebro" models. Wish they'd invest a bit more in that direction, if they make it out of their current predicament.

Seriously though...
Anyway, I quite like the frog, but it could definitely use an accessory or something.

I disagree, REBOR made that happen to Vitae.  And talked about it as if it was justified.  It's disgusting.

CarnotaurusKing

avatar_Sim @Sim sorry, could you please elaborate on that? Curious to hear what they did.

Sim

Vitae expressed sadness due to sellers not wanting to stock their products and that they (Vitae) didn't know why.  After that REBOR posted on this forum that they had advised Vitae not to collaborate with a particular factory owner that REBOR had a bad experience with.  Vitae didn't stop working with that factory, and REBOR went on to say that as a result they (REBOR) told sellers of animal figures to boycott Vitae.

Check out my customs thread!

Primeval12

I'm sorry what? SO they're partially responsible for the downfall of Vitae?!

They are entirely responsible for it.  I clearly had forgotten the "backstabbing" part, although REBOR never explained what they meant with that and it's hypocritical that REBOR has behaved so badly to numerous others and then when Vitae "backstabbed" them, REBOR told sellers to boycott Vitae.  I wonder how REBOR would feel if someone told sellers to boycott REBOR?

suspsy

And that's precisely why I wouldn't mind at all if they folded. I'd feel the same way about CollectA, Safari, or any other company if they pulled that sort of chicanery.

We have Rebor to (partially) thank for these Vitae prototypes never seeing the light of day. ::) Every time I'm tempted to get a Rebor model, I'm reminded of their piss poor behaviour.

I think actively sabotaging another company warrants at least some attention.

I don't understand how you can rationalise Rebor's poor behaviour when they themselves have played dirty.

suspsy

I'm especially aggrieved about the sea reptiles, the Achelousaurus, and the Charonosaurus.
Untitled by suspsy3, on Flickr

Sim

I'm sad the Achelousaurus never made it.  Hopefully someone else will make it at some point...  And who knows what else Vitae would have made.

Carnoking

This may have been addressed elsewhere and it's off topic to this particular thread but is there really no chance of resurgence for Vitae? Stranger things have certainly happened. Look at PNSO, they seemed to disappear for years and now they're one of the premier model production companies on the market.
