This is my perspective also.  I've never ordered a dinosaur I NEED, so there's no rush to get any of them.  My concern would be collectors putting pressure on creators, directly or indirectly via the distributors, such that the figures get sped up and the quality suffers.  No one benefits from that.  Plus, the longer these take to come, the easier it is to resist the next new thing.  :)

Look my perspective is that when I order on day one but my stuff is not shipped more than a week after stuff of others is shipped who ordered on the same day or even later I just want to know why. Therefore I take the liberty to ask. And when I get a reasonable explanation everything is fine. This has nothing to do with how long one needs to wait, just with the fact that I want to know what is going on.

As far as I can remember it has always been clear that HLG 129 & the Special Version would be shipped first and after these HLG 130 & 131. It's too arduous to find that concerning post but I'm sure there was information.

ceratopsian

I think that is a good perspective.

Quote from: Sim on November 14, 2024, 09:56:09 PMI hope the Haolonggood Utahceratops is released soon, I'm eager to have it!  Also, I hope V @vampiredesign requests what we'd like from Haolonggood for next year, I'm not keen on what's currently planned (Hungarosaurus, Udanoceratops, Torosaurus, Mosasaurus, Shantungosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Brachiosaurus) and I have hopes for what I'd like from Haolonggood... such as Futabasaurus!  Mosasaurus surely won't be their only marine reptile, right?

Well, it seems you got your wish already, the Utahceratops will be out soon indeed!

Out of those species, the one I'd be most curious about is Mosasaurus. And even then, not really, because I have CollectA's 2023 one, which is fantastic. Will Haolonggood's or PNSO's be impressive enough for me to replace CollectA's? We'll see about that. CollectA's is hard to beat.

The other genera I'm confident I won't be interested in.

A priori, I doubt they will be making more marine reptiles. I think they only considered Mosasaurus because its fame is comparable, or exceeds, that of many dinosaurs (and also, because it's big enough to be doable in 1:35 scale).

I agree with Elasmosaurus being a poor choice for a figure (just like Therizinosaurus, and companies keep making it). Especially when there are relatives known from more complete material (true in both cases).

That Utahceratops is looking mighty fine

Sorry it was not always clear that these would be shipped first. Lana Time Shop just posted at some point that they had received these two variants and expected the others to come few days later. But apparently these few days later turned into more than a week. This can happen of course due to some unforeseeable reasons, but the key as in so many aspects of life is honest and open communication.

The bottom line is that this is an expensive item and the pre-order scheme means that we pay that substantial amount of money weeks before the products are manufactured or completed. We give them a lot of credit money wise and therefore I think it is perfectly reasonable to expect that they inform us about any potential delays in getting our value for the money.

So it is just the Styracosaurus and Einiosaurus left now as far as those on the poster goes. Wonder what they'll do after them (aside from the random Argentinosaurus that popped up in between).

Love the eyespots on the frill of these Utahceratops. Hope to see more of that in future ceratopsians.

T @thomasw100 I don't think it has anything to do with any manufacturing order. because i pre-ordered 001 and haven't got any updates about shipping after paying the fee (which i also had to remind them)

Argentinosaurus wasn't so random, no? we had silhouette poster too, so i think around New Year time we will get Brachiosaurus

Yep, only those two left as far as the teaser goes!

As for what taxa we could expect after those two, I'd say these ones avatar_Sim @Sim mentioned:

Quote from: Sim on November 14, 2024, 09:56:09 PMHungarosaurus, Udanoceratops, Torosaurus, Mosasaurus, Shantungosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Brachiosaurus

Actually for me the most refreshing aspect of this Utahceratops is the pose with the head facing downward. And I agree that the eyespots on the frill look nice. Do we have any idea how long this figure will be?

Actually the only complete surprise was the Triceratops. Maybe they have more complete surprises in store.

Oh right I forgot about the Triceratops as well. I meant random, as neither the Argentinosaurus, or Triceratops were on the 2024 poster, which were pleasant surprises I did not expect.

The caramel sundae one looks great!  :P
One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.

Flaffy

Similar criticisims to the PNSO Lokiceratops, the frill pattern looks a bit artificial. Other than that it looks great! Happy to have more chasmosaurs on my shelf given the centrosaur saturation.

Samrukia

yellow frill? yes, please  :))

Flaffy

The brown Utahceratops in particular looks like a refined version of the Xenoceratops.

Joliezac

These look like a big improvement! Can't wait to get one. I think I like the brown version more.
