Flaffy

New render of the Ingentia. Has a very gentle expression.

Thanks Flaffy....Hmmm. I want that species but I have never been a huge fan of CollectA's theropods. I'll have to ponder this one.

For me it's usually their choice of colours. A bit too similar in palatte to their Deinocheirus.

But IMO the Gallimimus is a very worthy addition to any scientific collection. The only other feathered version on the market is the Schleich one I think? Which while having the more naturalistic colour scheme, has the far inferior sculpt.

I'm really liking that Gallimimus. And I'm really liking that we didn't get a legitimate leaked list this year. Surprises are nice.

I think Gallimimus might have been the most hotly anticipated figure from anyone this year! This is the first excellent ornithomimid I've seen in a while.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I could have used that a few months ago.. lol

Was it Struthiomimus they made previously? All brown?

Yes. Not the greatest colour scheme, and many copies have very sloppy paint. I had to sift through many specimens from multiple (physical) stores before finding one that was acceptable.

Looks beautiful! I'm quite liking the diversity in their line up for next year.

Yeah I am sure I'll end up getting it, since it's such an interesting and iconic species.  :)

Oh my! I've always wanted some ornithomimisaurs in my collection, so I may just pick a few of these up along with a few of the old struthi, so I can have a nice pack to fill out various dioramas

Yes that's him, I had it and gave it away to a friend. I think mine was ok? I don't really have anywhere local that stocks CollectA.

I'm excited to see this Gallimimus, which I anticipate using along with my Struthiomimus flock as adjuncts to my tyrannosaurid dioramas. So far this has been a terrific series of introductions by CollectA, as far as I'm concerned.

avatar_crazy8wizard @crazy8wizard What about the Kaiyodo CapsuleQ Ornithomimus released in 2022?

Anyways yet another pleasant surprise from CollectA. Much better wing feathers then their previous ornithomimosaurs, and even if the colors are similar to their Deinocheirus, I still find these appealing. It's nice to see it given another figure after Schleich's attempt.

The colors on this new figure also reminds me a little of the Jurassic Park Gallimimus with the blue and reds (think Kenners toy, or some of the recent Mattel ones all based Crash's artwork). Just obviously not applied the same. That said a repaint of this figure done up like in either JP coloration would be neat.

Mattel figures with the exact colorations I mean:

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin that's the last one I've seen in a while, yeah. With how many figures all these companies produce in a year, one figure out of six in a line that released two years ago seems like a while!

Gallimimus! We have finally have one!

1/40 scale also, I can work with that.

Pd: forgot schleich made one, no wonder why...

Thanks for the alert avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy ! The more I look at it the more it grows on me.

I'm actually wondering if it might be able to stand without the base? It actually looks possible.

thomasw100

This Gallimimus looks a bit like an oversized chicken with long legs. Very funny actually.

ceratopsian

I would say highly unlikely it would stand for long. The feet are very small by comparison with the bulk of the beast itself.  And I suspect the beast is front heavy.

Elengassen

Seems a bit small, but I'm very glad to finally be getting a good, accurate Gallimimus figure.
One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.
