Ugh Haolonggood stop. I can't decide which paint scheme I like more!

Flaffy

Looking good! I'm partial to the blue version, but the cyan highlights on the yellow one are quite attractive too.

Blade-of-the-Moon

The sculpt and pose are great, I'm just not loving those teeth..

Paleo Flo

Now we are talking! I like the sandy one of the Majungas a lot. I was never that much into that genus but I guess now you can't pass it.

Im more of a fan of the yellow one but both of them are amazing, i might get both tbh

The Majungasaurus seems quite improved compared to some of their earlier theropod figures, although the Dilophosaurus pair that came out about a year ago was really nice. I think it was a good idea to let go on the articulated jaw, because this always creates seam lines and places some limitations on the design.

Turkeysaurus

Their eye colors are different too.

Loving them both! Probably going to pick them up down the line.

ceratopsian

Even this non-theropod collector might succumb to one of those. The yellowish brown perhaps.

Turkeysaurus

Where is my vivid colored Styracosaurus, Haolonggood?!

Totally agree with you on the articulated jaw T @thomasw100 .

Ok, well I have Safari's Majungasaurus but I might have to get this one too.  :P

I was thinking of getting the Safari one  which looks great to me but I prefer this pose although I wonder how well will it balance on its own. I have to check how it compares with Safari's size wise but I'm tempted.

Now that I see pics of the Manjungasaurus on the DTB, it looks better than I thought. Still, sticking with Safari's.

Elengassen

I think I'm still going to wait for the Wild Past Majungasaurus – I prefer its colour scheme to either of these. It also has lips, whereas this one looks like it doesn't (granted, it's a bit hard to tell at this size). As I understand it, the first production batch of the Wild Past has already been completed, so it's feasible that they will be released at some point.
One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.

suspsy

I would have been all over this toy had Safari not already put out one that I really like.

Safari's Majungasaurus is fine, but it is way too big to scale with most of my collection. I wish Safari Ltd. would pick one scale and stick to it.

Haolonggood's model has much finer sculpting as well, and I prefer the pose to Safari's.

I wish Wild Past would have released their Majungasaurus sooner, even though I'm not sure their paint job would have done that terrific sculpt justice.

I like it. The green one sort of reminds me of the JW Chaos Theory one (though clearly not the same).

It's a great figure, and I'm glad to see another option for it on the market aside from Safari's beautiful one. I think this is Haolonggood's best theropod after their Megaraptor and Dilophosaurus.

The Styracosaurus is okay but not the most exciting for me. Gonna need more pics. That said I am pretty spoiled by both Safari's and the BotM gorgeously colored ones.

Yes, there is something about Styracosaurus that seems to demand flamboyance.

Quote from: SenSx on December 04, 2024, 07:31:10 PMYes but honestly I really blame the lack of good promotional images for the green, that is why I was begging to get some, I did not want to spend so much money without beint absolutely sure of what I was getting.
Also the green isn't bad by any means, it's probably the most natural of all the color variations, it is just lacking complexity in the application.
I was wondering if an improvement was possible instead of a complete repaint, maybe with a pro artist like dinosaur_model_artwork in Europe.
Your description of the grey version with some sort of cracked scaled skin you would expect on an old animal is really on point.

I have already a good connection with Dinosaur Models Artworks and actually have talked to him about this possibility. He has done some really amazing repaints of Haolonggood figures for me, including a full repaint of the Haolonggood Alamosaurus in the style of the PNSO.

I actually wonder if this is possible to improve some of the accuracies of the figure, like adding some sort of bump at the top of the tail like Argentinosaurus is supposed to have, and removing the teeth and make new ones in number, closer to each other, smaller. and will a better shape.
But the mouth might not be accessible enough, and even a pro artist could refuse such a tedious commission.
