the smaller of the two -

1/35 Futabasaurus suzukii  ( フタバサウルス ) 2024 Ver. :

4 Parts : main body, lower jaw, upper jaw and base -

Built and ready -  The previous Futabasaurus ver. had a calm, floating pose - while this one charges foreward with a gaping mouth :

This is the painted version as described by the maker :

With some other Futabasaurs - Happinet ( ハピネット 大恐竜時代 ), Sega ( セガ 古代王者 ) and 2 small Favorites ( Old & New ) :

BrontoScorpio

And the bigger one of the two -

1/35 Predator X ( プレデターX  )  -

7 Parts : main body, four flippers, lower jaw and the lower set of teeth - this kit is huge :

The back side :
As you can see, these two kits are some kind of hard PVC Polymer made.
The material is hard and 'hostile' to work with and the spare projections are difficult to remove.
Also the sockets for the part attachments are not nitly fit whatsoever.
This kit is not recommended for the unexperienced.

But none of that will deter me -
and when it is finally done - the result is more than enough to compensate for the hardship endured -

I think I'll use the Futabasaurus' base ...

The other side :

Watch those strong front flippers -

And the hind ones used for navigation -

With the strong big tail for propulsion -

At some 33 cm 'fin span' - this would mean 11.5 meters from side to side :

I am reminded of the BBC sequel of the Predator-X as it glides through the water -

steering its massive body -

Capble of abrupt changes of directions from left to right -

Equipped with those fearsome rows of teeth -

Charging forward with a gaping mouth -

Next to a close relative - The Liopleurodon by Invicta and Toyway -

And here are three sample colors by the maker -

BrontoScorpio

And finally - both my assembled Tokyo-modeling kits together - The Futabasaurus doesn't look so brave after all ...

As they were presented at the fair - the Wonder Festival 2024 [Summer] ( ワンダーフェスティバル2024[夏] ) -
As you can see - maker is mostly concentrated on Marine creatures :

DinoToyForum

Some interesting design choices on the Predator X (=Pliosaurus funkei these days). Thanks for sharing so many pictures!

BrontoScorpio

And for another big aquatic creature -

Came in a big box -

Packed carefully as should with Resin statues -

The two signs on the front and under the pedestal says it all -

Carolata ( カロラータ ) 2004
Whale shark ( ジンベエザメ ) Resin figure
Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan ( 海遊館 ) Churaumi Aquarium (  美ら海水族館 )

I know it's not a dinosaur - although it is as big as ...
But I just could not resist - after searching it for so long ...

It seems it was manufactured specially and exclusively for the Aquarium event -

37 cm from head to tail -

The under belly is just as impressive -

With some smaller Resin versions - The Kaiyodo AQUALAND whale sharks -
No, I don't have the small PVC Colorata whale sharks for comparison- and I don't intend to have them either

Took something away - so to clear space at my Aquatic shelf :

Anyway - moved them all away from the Kits cabinet - for a new place ...

Joliezac

BrontoScorpio

They have also a white Shark - but both are very rare.

Next item is just a book -
but it is actually one of the more impressive Expo Official Catalogues ( 公式図録 ) I have seen :

Ueno Royal Museum ( 上野の森美術館 ) Special Exhibition ( 特別展 ) 2023 -
"Dinosaur Encyclopedia: Imagining/Creating a Lost World" 「恐竜図鑑 失われた世界の想像/創造」

The entrance to the Exhibition :

The Crystal Palace Iguanodon is installed at the entrance and is a photo spot.
This is a 3D scan of the old model on display, enlarged and replicated, and Araki adjusted the details.
Finally, we took a commemorative photo with the curator

At the venue there are many notable paleo art statues collected from all over the world

But most notables are the numerous famous drawings from the early days to masterpieces by contemporary artists -

Burian, knight

And even much older -

I can only guess these are the originals ...

===========================================

And now for some examples out of the Catalog - with old painting and statues we all know and love -
It follows a chronological order - from old to new -
First are some drawings :

some old figures :

And statues - most we would never have any chance on getting -

Most collectible is probably that one -
Kazunari Araki/Kaiyodo Ceratosaurus model kit, 1978, from the Hiroshi Tamura Collection -
Probably Araki's first ever model kit issue :

BrontoScorpio

Four new Alva Metal Dinosaurs - Corythosaurus, Trachodon, Stegosaurus and Iguanodon :

Joining to my Alve Brontosaurus :  ( and the rest will follow shortly )

The new look at the left corner of my shelf - with the SRG's ( Big versions ) -
All my metal American Museum of Natural History ( AMNH ) dinosaurus :

BrontoScorpio

...

Libraraptor

Honestly, those SRG and Alva figures make me drool. Beautiful!

ceratopsian

I like the look of the Alva figures too.  They transport me straight back to my childhood.

BrontoScorpio

Thanks.
I just wish my proxy service in the US had packed them more carefully after they repack them -
If you see those color cheeps ...

Next,
The third and last bunch of Dinosaur Resin kits from the  ' Wonder Festival 2024 [Summer] ' ( ワンダーフェスティバル2024[夏] )  -

BrontoScorpio

First there are these two beautifuly packed Resin kits by hiroshi ogihara -  a freelance sculptor/illustrator :

Allosaurus (  アロサウルス  ) and Nasutoceratops ( ナストケラトプス )  issued together at the 2024 Wonder Festival :

Starting with The Allosaurus model :

A high quality 7 parts kit :

Both sides - with some injection scraps for me to cheap off :

This one was easy and fun to build - maybe the arms posed some difficulties ...

It could stand on its own as well - but the base is nice enough ...

As in other cases - I do love calm, closed mouth Carnivors ...

For size reference - with the PNSO Allosaurus :

With some of my other unpainted Resin Allosaurs :

Moving to the Nasutoceratops kit :

Somewhat less impressive 4 parts kit  :

Where much of the material lays in the base ...

Cleaned and assembled :

And with some other Nasuto's for size reference :

Both on display :

It looks like they feel quite comfortable with each other ...

A more recent color application by the maker :

And the former color example - on which it use for the Festival stand :

The Display booth up in close -

This seller also sells many T-shitrs ...

Along with the Oviraptor and the lying Spinosaurus :

BrontoScorpio

Second, in this 3rd and last bunch of my 2024 'Wonder Festival' loot -
Are four 3D printing garage kit of TGM resin by Noboru Yanagi ( ヤナギ ノボル ) -

1st is this 2 parts non-scale 15 cm Triceratops :

Cleaning away the stumps has had its marks -

Assembling needed to handle only one contact area -

All together it's a fine looking model with length of about 15 cm -

With a dosile expression and a closed mouth -

With the modeler hand for size  reference -

When paining is done - by the maker :

2nd & 3rd are these two 8 parts non-scale Pachyrhinosaurs ( パキリノサウルス ) garage kits - Big ( 25 cm ) and small ( 15 cm ) -

The Bigger one :

And the Smaller one :

Cleaning away all stumps needed to have used some destructive tools and protective gear - but finally it is done -
All cleaned parts for both Big and small models, respectively :

And the smaller :

When all work is done - the Big one is a real Behemoth that carries with it an Impressive presence -

The other side - yet again with mouth closed :

And the dosile mini -

Standing firmly on 3 legs - this one does not shake ...

At last - both next to each other - I really can't seem to find any difference in the mold ...

When paining is done - by the maker :

With some of my other Pachyrhinosaurs  - PNSO , CollectA and JP Showdown

4th and last is this 10 parts non-scale 35 cm Juvenile Carnotaurus ( 幼体カルノタウルス ) garage kit -

for some reason a part of the items are already cleaned ... I wonder why ... could it be a returned item ...

Cleaned away the rest of them -

And Yes ... It turns out my fears were justified ...

I got two right legs - and no left leg ...
I asked that seller is to be contacted, let's see how it plays out ...
( And the seller responded - and I got the other leg )

No wonder the model has a vicious smile on its face ...
When painting is done - by the maker :

A parade of all latest four 3D Print models :

I kind of like this small group, although not Resin made, and not considered as a Vintage collectible - the sculpts are really nice -

BrontoScorpio

Just One group shot of the 3rd bunch :

And a final complete look at my 2024 Wonder Festival gains :

- The prelude
- 1st package
- 2nd wave
- 3rd Bunch

From above :
( I'm quite happy this time - I 'disciplined' myself and didn't fall to any needless poor quality models I'll grow tired of after a short while )

May I ask which criteria you use for choosing resin kits? I see that you have a focus on Japanese artists.

BrontoScorpio

Thank you for your interest -
I found that Japan is where most of the 'company-made vintage limited collectible real white Resin kits' are.
also I don't believe there are many 'wonder festival' kits anywhere else.
As for western high quality Resin kits - you have mostly Independent makers - and I do search a small number of those -
And for those that are still retail available - I wish I had more space for them.
I also try not to have kits bigger than 1/20 scale - these should better left out for museum displays and not in one's private house.
Finally - I try to avoid the new wave of Chinese kits - as a matter of choise.

Thanks for explaining your collection philosophy. Have you looked into the De Clay resin models? They are from Vietnam and you can order them directly from them through their website. I just ordered their Triceratops and Torosaurus assembled and painted. They also sell unpainted but I do not know what color their resin has. It is traditional cast resin from what I have been told.

I did also get a few 3D printed models from Dinosauria Creatures. Maybe this would be of some interest. They are willing to scale any model to your preferred size.

BrontoScorpio

Thank you for suggesting - I already know this studio but they are not on my scope.

p.s.
As it happened - just 2 days ago a Japanese kit that I was looking for was sold -
The Resin version of the 1/35 Kaiyodo DINOLAND T-rex v.2 by Shinobu Matsumura -
But I did not go for it - since it was already build - and what's worse - already painted -
you might as well buy the cheap Vinyl version - who could tell the difference in this state ...

so, I discovered even to myself another thing about my preferences ...  :)
