Papo reveals have long happened in December.

I find the detail work immensely unappealing on the Ampelosaurus.

Between Kaiyodo's, Schleich's, and now Papo's, Anhanguera has received some figure attention now. Why is it that it's gotten these "many" figures, and Tropeognathus hasn't? I'd have figured Tropeognathus would be the more popular genus, considering its appearance in Walking with Dinosaurs as "Ornithocheirus". But it apparently isn't. I know there is Toyway's version of the animal, but it's just that figure for Tropeognathus, as far as I'm aware.

Why is it that Anhanguera is "this popular"? I'm curious about that. I like it, anhanguerids are amongst my favorite pterosaurs, I simply find it surprising it's apparently more popular than Tropeognathus.

I don't know much about pterosaurs, so if anyone could enlighten me I'd be grateful.

That's the only species that could interest me out of Papo's lineup. Edmontosaurus is also a genus I'm interested in, but a priori I don't think it could top HLG's or PNSO's versions, and in any case, I'm waiting for Eofauna's first ornithopod, because I think it'll be an Edmontosaurus.

SUSPY:

Yes, I was in a hurry and posted it in the wrong thread.

I wanted to wait till a review video was out before commenting, and after just watching it, I can fairly say that this Ampelosaurus creeps me out.

There's something about it that just looks uncanny. Perhaps it's the face with the almost-carnivorous teeth, and those growths on its flanks... Reminds me of barnacles, but rocks. Looks to me like a zombie dinosaur more than anything. Sorry Papo but you should have placed this under the fantasy creature line... together with the Concavenator.

Your description makes me think it would make an excellent Schleich Eldorador figure with a different paint job!

I like the sculpt of thi figure in every regard except the osteoderms. They don't look quite as disgusting as the clams embedded beneath the skin of the concavenator but they definitely look like an afterthought. I've decided if I do get one of these I'm gonna shave off the shoulder spikes and sculpt over the pebbly back scale cape and turn this thing into a Haplocanthosaurus.

This means that papo only works with resellers, and never sell directly to a regular customer.

Weird, we are in december and we still doesnt have any sight and early reviews. I though it would come along with the alpha dragon.
Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Conan, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!

I still haven't found the alpha/king dragon for sale.

I don't have any Papo dinosaurs yet but the Anhangura is a 'maybe' depending on how inaccurate it turns out to be (I don't mind minor issues).

EDIT: Maybe Yangchuanosaurus too, for the same reason, just to add some manufacturer variety to the shelves lol.

Wow, all four of those are must buys! Well the Rex is a maybe but I like the concept.

suspsy

The T. rex looks like a digital model as opposed to a physical toy. Hopefully we get better images soon. I'm liking what I'm seeing, though!

Wow, they look pretty good! :o Papo is back to the game again!! Good looking sculpts and colour designs. They all have their minor flaws but they follow pretty nicely the Papo aesthetics.
The Anhanguera would look amazing repainted as the flying WWD Ornitocheirus.

The arms of the yangchuanosaurus look very GOOD: not pronated and with very nice long claws.

It's very curious they gave long feathers to the tail of the tyrannosaurus, a nice but not very probable concept (the kind of feathers) as I explained here in other post but the sculpt looks WOW.
