Thry are at the point where their figures make me feel visual discomfort. Like a "grey area" but for dino figures lol

Libraraptor

I have to hold the Dilophosaurus in my hands before I form my final judgement, but for now it really looks quite decent.

EmperorDinobot

Same.

And yes avatar_Federreptil @Federreptil, the monstertoyblog will be filled with those types of creatures.

PrimevalRaptor

I love how Schleich picking unflattering catalogue images is a trend that never seems to die  O:-)
Not sure how the head stacks up with the newer papers but wow, from that angle it almost looks decent, the lips do help a lot.
Think if the Carcharodontosaurus had those too I wouldn't even wait until a sale to pick it up.

Though the hands seem to be pronated (amazing that after all this time that mistake continues to be made). This is an error that can be corrected with a bit of careful surgery (which I've done more than once).

Halichoeres

The hide looks a bit like a dry lakebed.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

EmperorDinobot

Blegh. I'll get it because it is Dilophosaurus. Nothing else.
Why must I do this to myself?!

Has anyone bought the schleich Dakotaraptor?
You can never have too many dinosaurs

It seems Schleich's new figures for 2025 are already reviewed by a german youtuber.

Some remarks:
Diplodocus:
Anatomy: proportions NOK, head too big, torso too short, neck is also short, but seems longer due to the chest, elephant legs, front fat legs (same size as back legs), tail curves 180 degrees in an imposible position.
Sculpt texture: lazy cuts, some bumps here and there, I think the sculptor put a little more effort in the Bajadasaurus which was already low quality. Also the tail is glued to the legs...strange choice, perhaps to fit the box better when it it shipped ?
Paint: nothing special, decent, but it is shadowed by the overall bad sculpt.

Velociraptor repaint:
Anatomy: No comment, same as before
Sculpt texture: No comment, same as before
Paint: in previous release it looked like a parrot, now it has some lazy tiger stripes and some dry brushing.

Carcharodontosaurus :
Anatomy: proportions are pretty good, no shrinkwrapping, head is a little big for the body, but there are no holes in the head due to fenestrae like for the Tarbosaurus (this is a plus), also the head is narrow and the proporions of the skull are ok for Carcharodontosauridae (I think it is the best therophod skull Schelich has ever made), torso is a bit short, hands are not pronated and thumb claw is bigger, the legs are really good, no clown feet for stability (smallest ones done by Schleich until now), tail in natural position, kind of short, but ok for what it is. The lizzard crest on the back was added for the monster effect, but not too distracting.
Sculpt texture: Nice sculpt, the detail is lower than on the tarbosaurus, but it is still ok and much better than on the other 2025 dinosaurs. Diffferent sized scales can be observed: bigger on the legs and head.
The Carcha looks really good when looking on the right side, but on the left, the back leg and I focus only on the thigh, it is not well defined compared to the torso, I understand it is in a moving position, but it just looks like the Charca has a lot of loose skin and is wearing a pijama.
Paint: nothing special, some dry brushing would have enhanced the sculpt details.

Dilophosaurus:
Anatomy: from the side, the head is really good, it also has lips, tail length is ok, torso is long as it should, but then the problems appear, clown feet, bunny hands with equal claws, head is to wide at the tip, lizard crest on the back, torso is too short vertically, it should be closer to the knee, or the legs should be shorter.
Sculpt texture: a bit lazy compared to the Charca, but much better than the Diplodocus, the head is the best sculpt on the figure and only from the side.
Paint: simple paintjob, again the head is the best, but not the inside of the mouth with smeared white on the tongue and gums.

Steinticeratops:
Anatomy: Fantasy creature, cannot comment. If we consider triceratops as base then proportions are really bad.
Sculpt texture: lazy cuts, some bumps , I think they were trying to make it seem as a rock monster. not really achived.
  Paint: just some dry brushing.

Frost Mammoth:
Anatomy: fantasy creature, cannot comment. If we consider a wooly mammoth as base then proportions are ok.
Sculpt texture: really nice, the icy back and tusks are made of a translucid plastic and mimic ice well. The fur on the head and back is nicely sculped. Going down to the legs the details are not as well done as the fur, but it looks like chuncks of snow are stuck to the fur, perhaps this is the image they wanted.
Paint: simple and effective, less is more in this case.

I kinda dig the Diplodocus, but I might use it as Galeamopus because of the skull

The day before yesterday I saw the Diplodocus in person in a toy store. It has got a godawful, shrinkwrapped head. I simply do not dig why it almost always degenerates into (in my opinion) ugly figures. Can't the ratio of pretty to ugly figures simply be the other way around?

Pliosaurking

I think this figure is alright not great not bad either. I'll grab this figure as
Carcharodontosaurus is debatably my second favourite Dinosaur, and it's not made too often.

..well, to be honest, almost every major company have one: Safari ( 2 version , the old Wild Safari one and the new one from 2016) , CollectA (Deluxe line from 2014) , PNSO ( n.50 "Gamba" ) and GRToys/HaolongGood ( the PVC one from GR and the resin one from Haolong ).. even Mattel has one ( available in yellow or blue)..

Crazy to me that the safari Carcharodontosaurus was released just one year before the significantly larger (and cooler) Giganotosaurus

That is true. I actually have nearly all of them, still I for one won't complain about another Carcharodontosaurus.

Other then the pronated wrists, it's pretty decent for them. An improvement over their last one.

They did that figure so badly with their promo pics. It doesn't look as bad as I thought it did.
It reminds me a lot of the Walking with Dinosaurs Arena Spectacular animatronics, does anybody else feel me on that?
