Sim

I've acquired the following:

1. Haolonggood green and brown Amargasaurus.  I've ended up feeling the PNSO Amargasaurus is too big for me, so I decided to try the Haolonggood Amargasaurus, which also has a more accurate neck.  I couldn't decide which colour version of the Haolonggood Amargasaurus I preferred so I had to get both to see them in person.  I ended up preferring the green version, so that's the one I'm keeping!  It's a very satisfying figure, and it replaces the PNSO Amargasaurus in my collection.

2. Wild Safari Saltasaurus.  I decided to give it a chance.  It's... okay.  It would make a great children's toy, but it's not for me.

3. Wild Safari Postosuchus.  I finally bought this figure and the unit I received was painted terribly!  However it was able to show me that I don't want this figure, even if it's painted well due to how small its tail is.  A new, accurate Postosuchus figure is needed.  I'm hoping CollectA produces it.  I was surprised by how disappointing the Wild Safari Postosuchus is, given its popularity.  The Wild Safari Prestosuchus is a much better figure!

Three new JP/W arrivals, of varying shapes and sizes (and qualities):

Haha, I always forget that HC Scutosaurus exists.

Well, I got a BOTM Yutyrannus, which has left me in financial ruin since I'm not really working anymore, but it was worth it. I don't get what the beef is with this figure, it's really beautiful.

The extremely limited articulation on the head and neck I believe. So similar issue as their rexes. Thankfully later waves fixed these issues, particularly on the Wave 3 large tyrannosaurs like Gorgo and Alberto.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I think for a line of poseable dinosaur figures they are generally not very poseable. That's not stopped me from collecting the ones I really like however, including that Yutyrannus who looks great in the snow if you have any nearby..

crazy8wizard

I do recall reading back in the early days that the articulation is limited by the range of motion of the actual animal, but I'm not sure if that's still being considered or not. The range of articulation seems to get better with each wave, however. Despite being similarly built and sized, the Allosaurus has considerably better poseability than the Yutyrannus.

EmperorDinobot

Yeah it's a bit stiff, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. Lythronax is just as stiff. The more slender builds like Teratophoneus and Quianzhousaurus have more range.

The ceratopsians are always going to be royalty.

More new JW acquisitions. Gotta love the pink Ornithocheirus and the trippy Einiosaurus.  ^-^

A couple of new Mattelsaurs. Genuinely shocked at how much paint there is on the Tuojiangosaurus. It's got fully painted plates and tail, multi-toned patterning and even a cheeky flash of colour along its dorsum. Certainly shows up the almost unpainted Chasmosaurus.

Also can't help but feel the Jakapil should've been in a two-pack with another small species. It's weird seeing it outsize the Stegouros.

Faelrin

Feel the same with you on the Jakapil (though awaiting its arrival), and the upcoming Hypsilophodon. Though I suppose they'll display better with the older Protoceratops, etc.

If Mattel doesn't plan to return to the two-packs, then I'd be a bit annoyed that the Stegouros and Guanlong are so small. Guanlong especially as it wouldn't have looked out of place as a regular sized attack pack figure.

I decided to try my chances with the Yowie chocolate eggs today while shopping; thankfully the odds were on my side!

I nabbed not only the Atopodentatus, but also the therizinosaur Suzhousaurus (which I'd never even heard of prior to this line), thus obtaining the two figurines I really wanted. I can't even complain about getting double ugly-rexes.

Then as a surprise bonus, I came across one lone Mattel Poposaurus hanging from the hooks. I'm mostly weaned off of Mattel by now, but I'm glad I managed to acquire this one.

Now to eat all of these chocolate eggs.....

Wow. Absolutely gorgeous... With a forested background it would look straight from the movie!

Yesterday I made a short detour on the way home to a Value Village store in north western Toronto. I have to say that collectable dinosaurs now come up only rarely, and that's a state of affairs that's persisted for several years. However, in the toy section I was pleasantly surprised to find a somewhat rare Papo Chilesaurus and a classic Invicta Megalosaurus.  the Megalo seemed to be somewhat different from the darkish green one in my collection of Invictas, so I bought the bag, just keeping these two and putting aside the cheaposaurs to return to the store later. Sure enough, the Invicta was a slightly different shade of green and glossier than my old one.

new one on the right

From what I understand, Invicta wasn't always very consistent in mixing their paint batches, so minor variations did occur. This appears to be just such. It's a keeper, to illustrate that point. Invictas are so hard to come by anyways around here nowadays.

The Chilesaurus

Handsome little figure. I've got one already, on which one pronated hand was corrected to a proper supinated position, so I think that I'll hold onto this one too for a 'before/after' purpose.

Paleo Flo

Always a pleasure to see an Invicta model! Congrats!

Thanks. It was an unexpected find, they've become as scarce as rooster's/hen's teeth (excepting chickenosaurs, of course) in Toronto. Ten years ago, finding an Invicta was almost a common occurrence. I gave away at least a couple of dozen duplicates at that time, probably some that were minor variants that I'd now happily keep. Oh well ... .
