Torvoneustes
Iani smithi
Dentaneosuchus
Rugops primus

Just names for now. Iani and Dentaneosuchus were both just described in 2023, so they are yet again quick to ball here with more recently described animals (after Stegouros, and Jakapil, maybe Moros too, since it was leaked prior to Dominion getting delayed). For anyone unfamiliar with these first three (Rugops has been done before, and is an abelisaur), Torvoneustes is our second metriorhynchid, after 2023's Dakosaurus, Iani smithi is a rhabdodontomorph ornithopod dinosaur, and Dentaneosuchus is a sebecid crocodylomorph (and the second Cenozoic animal, and pseudosuchian at that. Edit: Or third. Forgot about Purrusaurus earlier).

Anything remotely close to a crocodile ends up nicely done by Mattel, so I approve of Dentaneosuchus.
These are absolutely bizarre choices! But I love that.
That being said, I wouldn't really mind them to do something like Deinonychus or Ornithomimus or whatever, we're still waiting on a Smilodon too.
Do you wanna know my crazy pick? Arthropleura. I don't know how it would articulate, but I would love to see it.

I'm going to rename Farlowichnus into Vespersaurus.

Very valid reclassificaiton. I'm almost tempted to acquire all three of Mattel's noasaurs for that reason:
- Masiakasaurus
- Elaphrosaurus
- Farlowichnus (Vespersaurus)

Interesting selection! Excited to see the crocs given how well Mattel's handled their recent Poposaurus, Rauisuchus and Dakosaurus.

I hope Rugops will be a resculpt to properly depict the paired crests, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a repaint.

Iani will be nice if it was more in the style of the Callovosaurus rather than cartoonish like the Stegouros.

I am going to review Elaphrosaurus on the weekend, avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy

The Dakosaurus never showed up in these parts. Hopefully the Torvoneustes will.

Hammond Collection Troodon. Seems to be a mix between the Telltale game design and the Jeanie animatronic puppet?

Blade-of-the-Moon

Definitely looks to be more based on the game version which was pretty popular. Still an odd choice.

Needs the red under the belly like the previous version, and the spotting should be black. Not a fan of it stopping before the end of the tail either. Otherwise kind of close I guess. Though I still prefer the previous figure.

andrewsaurus rex

A new year, any rumours about of a new big sauropod figure from Mattel?  After the terrific Diplodocus i'm interested to see what they can come up with next, to top it.

A @andrewsaurus rex Might be Titanosaurus based on the rumors going around.

It's kind of a weird pick since it is a dubious genus, nevermind that they already had Dreadnoughtus, and Argentinosaurus is also far more popular if they didn't want to stick with the prior titanosaur. That said I guess it gives them a blank slate to work with design wise (similar to the "Becklespinax", another odd pick when both Conavenator or Acrocanthosaurus could have fit the bill better, nevermind the outdated name).

Edit: Now that I think of it, they might have gone with it because of the name. Titanosaurus literally has titan in it, and since the plot details mention they are going for the largest animals then obvious something with titan in it is easy to market.

Poor Puertasaurus and Alamosaurus. Oh, and Argentinosaurus too.

well, depending on the final sculpt a "Titanosaurus" could end up looking like just about any titansosaur and used in ones collection as whatever one feels is most appropriate.  I use the Mattel Diplodocus as D. hallorum (Seismosaurus) because it ended up being bigger than i was expecting and rivaling the Dreadnoughtus in size.

Glad to hear there are at least rumours of a new sauropod for this year.   Fingers crossed.

Personally I really like the Troodon other than the posed hands

Pretty sure it's Titanosaurus in the catalogs so the name is at least definite.  I think it's easier for kids to pronounce vs Dreadnoghtus lol

A closer look, seems to have red highlights here and there. Wish they kept the red throat.

Mattel obsession with making extremely obscure critters is so frustrating, although good for the wallet.

Not for avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres's wallet.

Ha, yeah. I haven't seen a JW movie since 2015, but Universal is getting some of my money anyway because I buy the oddball species that have nothing to do with the franchise media.

Another cookies-and-cream colored raptor. I kinda want a repaint of the Pyroraptor just so I can get all four species in the same theme.  :))
