Got papo corythosaurus and customized it straight away! Those weird teeth really bugged me, but that pose is just too good to resist, Perfect photo material.Messenger_creation_2A3A6536-5896-4C1E-9A98-1FB265460F14.jpeg Messenger_creation_2BBB5E00-D9A7-40D6-B56B-EB1EF9194A4C.jpeg

Paleodude

Decided to scope out a new thrift store today after a move and found this charming little Jurassic Park 3 Pteranodon keychain by Tiger Electronic.

It's honestly really charming and I dig the fact that the wings are on hinges so you can display it mid-flight or walking around, as Grant put it, a bird cage. One weird thing is that comparing it to the Spinosaurus of the same line the Pteranodonis enormous partly due to the proper wingspan.

Here's hoping I can find the Raptor but with seemingly no listings for a while I'll probably just have to find it thrifting as well.

avatar_Paleodude @Paleodude I never even knew those existed. That's some really neat merch there.

Just some comparison shots of the 2018 and 2025 Super Colossal T. rex figures.

avatar_Dyscrasia @Dyscrasia The upgrade in detail work is like night and day. Hard to believe how many years its been. I kind of miss how exciting it was to go hunting for these back then. I still remember how excited I was to see the SC T. rex for the first time in the 2018 Toy Fair video too.

Fembrogon

I keepf forgetting to share this, but my Nanmu JP3 raptors finally arrived from BBTS a couple of weeks ago (with some Hiya kaiju thrown in for good measure). The raptors have some "growing pains" to their designs but are overall very solid, I think.

Protopatch

My modest batch of the month includes this mini TUBBZ Jurassic Park T Rex, the Schleich's Dunkleosteus...

... The 3D jigsaw crystal puzzle of Triceratops with its nest, in the green version (not received yet, it should arrive by the end of the month from Hong-Kong)...

... And Storm, the new fellow of Lucky (for those of you who don't know the story of the latter, here is the link to the dedicated thread).
They both form the « lucky storm » couple *-*
Actually, I went today to the same newsstand to pick up another parcel, and the owner recognized me : « I remember you, you are the person who knows well the names of the dinosaurs ! ».
Apparently, they were so impressed last week that they wanted to offer me another dinosaur today.
And I chose this cute Triceratops, which I nicknamed Storm.
After all, couldn't we divert the famous saying by thunderstorm might well strike the same spot twice ? ;D

I have to admit that the acquisitions are rather limited at the moment, in anticipation of the 3D-printed Nemegtosaurus purchase, but I'm always happy to feel surrounded by more cool stuff, they are such a heartwarming outlet ! O:-)

Paleodude

Continuing my collection of weird and off-putting JP toys is this terrifying pod-people Parasaurolophus from the Jurassic World Fierce Changers line. Got it on clearance for $5 and I think it's the last wave of the line. They shelf warmed hard up here in Canada and with no announcements of them for the Rebirth line I think they're probably dead.

The key feature is the transformation which I can only assume is intended to be the Chinese delicacy that is the century egg. Having bought this I can see why the line fizzled out now.

It makes me a little nostalgic for the transforming dino egg toys I got from Chuck E Cheese back in the late 90's.

I think what holds these back from being a little more enjoyable is the arms are part of the egg and unpainted, the color of the egg parts, and the eyes have no pupils. Otherwise they would make for some cute hatchling styled figures.

I'm so lucky this week.
I got this huge bundle of Dino Valley and Jurassic Park figures from somebody for only £25  :-[

This is like one of those moments you have in a dream where you find something so oddly specific to you for a bargain-

Seeing the head of the Kenner red rex peeking out from the seller's doorway as I came up was like a magic moment.
There he is!  Rexford!!
That celebrity of the dinosaur figure world which for the past 20-something years of my life I had only seen in pictures and videos online.
Now I FINALLY have one of my own. It's emotional for me.
Seriously, I used to browse JPToys for hours when I was younger, I must have visited that site almost by instinct whenever I was at a computer. That and the Dinosaur Toys Collector's Guide. I used to soooo badly want these things, but it was just out of my world.
Not anymore! Now I totally get why people like these things.
I'm suprised the Triceratops comes with the skin piece, too.
I had to give both of them a good clean, though. I'm going to clean them even more in the future once I figure out how to appropriately do so.
They were just covered in the sort of grime where you can't see it with the naked eye, but rubbing them with a tissue turns the tissue grey.

The Dino Valley ones too, this was my childhood dinosaur figure line which I always wanted to expand upon.
I've never had most of these before. They're quite badly painted compared to the ones I had as a kid, but I know Chap Mei products vary in quality a lot.

The JP figures have held up very well over time...the Dino Valley figures have NOT.
They feel like they're ready to just snap and fall apart at any second. They creak and groan and the mechanisms barely work, lol-
I feel bad for them, to be honest. But I'm going to take care of them.

avatar_Dilopho @Dilopho Man JPToys was my thing back in the day too. I remember finding them back when the 3D version of JP came out (which was the first time I got to watch it in theaters), if not slightly before then. That was in 2013 I think? Still is my main resource now though. Nearly every pic I link to on my Mattel threads is from their site, particularly for the mainline scale stuff.

I'm happy to see you finally got your hands on one of the best og JP toys, and for such a good deal. Those Dino Valley figures have some nice colorations too. Love how vivid that Dimetrodon and Pentaceratops is for example. That Oviraptor(?) almost looks like its crest is glowing lol.

avatar_Dilopho @Dilopho Old school chap mei is awesome! The Dino Quest: Rescue Mission line was the best quality in my opinion, great paintjob and mines are still holding up well. Too bad the quality of chap mei toys has kinda downgraded with time. Not gonna lie I'm salty at Dino Toy Blog for the one star review of the Dino Quest t-rex to be honest cause that's my favorite childhood toy. This is what happens when people's only criteria is scientific accuracy smh  :*D

Roselaar

Four lovely new JW critters in! :)

Oh dang, I didn't realize they even gave out scores that low! Though between the... design, the screwholes, and my previous experiences with budget roaring toys, I can't really blame them  :*D It's not like the Mattel toys don't regularly get four stars on the site, so I don't think the inaccuraccy was the biggest problem either...

This does make me remember the really fugly toys I was really attached to as a kid.
Look at this beautiful monstrosity.
Don't own it anymore, but, damn. I really just had hybrid dinosaurs before it was cool, huh.

Shoutout also to this creature, which I decided at the time was "some random Asian Stegosaur"

And this guy. I had two of these, in red and yellow. Mine still had most of the tail spikes, tho.
They really did not measure up to the Schleich Stegosaurus and Carnegie Brachiosaurus they shared a toybox with!  :*D

As for Carnivores, I had this lovely goober

(Pictures aren't mine, just random ebay listings. Sadly do not own any of these anymore. Fingers crossed they won't succumb to link rot  :*D )

Dilopho

avatar_Roselaar @Roselaar Those are very nice.. to be honest, the whole Chaos Theory line is really nice, I think it's Mattel at their best when it comes to original sculpts.

T @Trenchcoated Rebbachisaur The asian stegosaur is a knockoff of the Battat Stegosaurus!

I think I found a rare Kosmoceratops!

What actually is this? It's beautiful!

Paleomimi

There is no brand on it or anything. Here is what I found with some research though, the 3d model of that same dino:
https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-kosmoceratops-angry-1-35-scale-pre-supported-dinosaur-free-model-sample-276983
I think the one I found has been 3D printed and handpainted!

Shane

My latest acquisition, something I've been searching for for quite some time and was happy to cross off my list,

The Safari Saber Toothed Tiger (aka Smilodon) Cub. Still even has the original hangtag!

Nehalennia

Wow, that's a rare one for sure! Congratulations!

Prehistory Resurrection

Nice! Did not know that Safari Ltd made a Smilodon cub. This one's more on the cute side as compared to Papo's one.
