Too true.

That said, these days, I'm far more disappointed in what manufacturers are doing in terms of camouflage, than their color choices. I feel like these enormous hunting predators would require some bold markings, meant to diffuse the outline of their mass, obscure the direction and speed of their travel and thus, confuse prey, rather like "dazzle paint" on a World War 1 battle ship. It seems nobody wants to take that kind of risk on the cash-cowsaurus.

Here are my ideas in paint.

Cool, I like that. Yes, using the example of the WW 1 ships is very convincing, at lest in terms of making a boldly patterned "dazzle scheme" plausible. Confusion can be as effective as outright concealment, especially when the difference between life and death becomes a matter of mere momentary hesitation.

I saw this image over at Paleofiguras' FB page and remembered you asking this...

Assuming this is an adult hand, I think an estimate of the figure being 10 or 12 inches long-ish isn't outside of the realm of possibility.

avatar_Over9K @Over9K Yeah, saw that pic, but was hoping they'd resize it lol.

Paleofiguras had this image up today.

Ooh, that's pretty. It's also distinct from the previous figure that was shown. I wonder if they just replaced it, or are releasing more than one Dilo?

Definitely a different pose. The prototype we were shown had a deeper stride. I'm assuming they had difficulty getting them to stand. I wonder if this means the Velociraptor will also change in production.

Halichoeres

It can camouflage itself against the BotM Centrosaurus.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

avatar_Sim @Sim Do you think the dewclaws might be placed too high on that one?   ::D

Sim

Yes, I did think of commenting on this!

mgaguilar

Oh my...that gigs is certainly looking pretty appealing. The Rex unfortunately has massive feet which stands out to me so I don't think I can go in on that one.

Nevermind, images are already in the OP

This is the same group of images we saw months ago, they're included in the OP.

Note the first version Dilophosaurus pose in the background.

Oh, my bad! Missed the image in the spoiler tag. Nothing to see here..
