Quote from: Paleomimi on May 15, 2025, 12:01:00 AMWhat is the average price of a manually painted 3d printed dinosaur figure? Probably depends on the person but wondering what kind of pricing it's worth on average.

Are you asking the price of the figure itself + painting service, or just the painting service? These would usually be separate costs, as AFAIK most people who sell 3D-printed figures don't offer a painting service (although I know Dinosauria Creatures among others do so). I would say both costs depend very much on the size of the figure, among other factors.

Indeed the costs will vary a lot with the size of the figure, because large figures require more materials and much more work time. I got some Haolonggood sauropods repainted including one Argentinosaurus so I know what I am talking about.

As a rule of thumb, I would say that a repaint of something the size of Alamosaurus or Brachiosaurus would costs 2 to 3 times of what for example an average ceratopsian would cost. Argentinosaurus would still cost more. The difference between an average ceratopsian and even smaller figures would not be that large, because the work time is more or less the same.

I'm so glad they arrived safely!  ^-^  I was already getting a bit nervous and wanted to ask — great to see them with you!

Yes, they made it across the Channel alright ;D

By the way, do you have any plans to restock any of the other 3D-printed figures on your site? There are a few which I wanted to buy but didn't get around to it before they sold out.

It definitely depends not just on the person, but also on the size of the print and the workload — whether it's a simple or a more detailed paint job.

Yes, I'm actually working on bringing my shop fully back online this year. There's just one last thing I need to sort out...

Regarding a painting service — I've been thinking about offering one myself, but I'm still unsure how to price it fairly. As an example, I've attached an old Plateosaurus model that I printed and painted. Neither the print nor the paint job involved a huge amount of effort, but if someone is fine with the level of quality I can deliver, I wouldn't be opposed to offering a combined package.

Great idea! Alternatively, have you considered collaborating with a local artist to offer a professional painting service? It would doubtless increase the price somewhat, but I'm sure there are people who would be interested.

I like that look for the Plateosaurus.

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector I know this thread is about 3-D printed (resin) figures, but man, seeing that Plateosaurus makes me wish for a PVC Wild Past version of it... A guy can dream.  :*D

Oh wow, this is really exciting, I've been wanting to get some of your models like Stenonychosaurus, Orkoraptor, and Chilesaurus! Do you have plans to add any new models?

Quote from: Elengassen on April 23, 2025, 06:35:33 PMThere is a paleoartist on Instagram offering a 3D-printed Nemegtosaurus here. I don't know whether he offers a built-up and painted version, but you could ask him, although it would probably be pretty expensive.
Many thanks for the contact avatar_Elengassen @Elengassen !
Having quickly checked the work of this guy on his Insta's page, I'll certainly investigate further this option to see if they still offer the 3D-printed Nemegtosaurus.
IMO, the prices are rather reasonable, but they apparently don't include the paint work.
Today is probably the most wonderful day of the week.
My very first 3D-printed figure, the long-awaited Nemegtosaurus arrived this morning - in one piece :*D - from Brazil.
The details of the skin texture, among other things, are amazing.
Icing on the cake, I even got an extra discount of 15$ on the total amount O:-)
avatar_Elengassen @Elengassen , these first pictures are dedicated to you ;) :

Will take more pictures this weekend with its Gobi fellows.

Looks amazing! Glad I could help  ;D
I'm very tempted to order one for myself, although I don't think that will happen any time soon as I have a lot of figures to catch up on. Never mind, I'll just vicariously enjoy yours in the meantime  :))

By any chance, could anyone recommend me a person who provides/may provide a 3D-printed Prenocephale prenes in 1:35 and including the paint job ?
Came across this shop however, €106.34 for a 7-cm figure sounds far too expensive.
Also asked ps_arts who made the Nemegtosaurus but unfortunately, they don't offer this species.
