Quote from: Sim on June 03, 2025, 09:57:11 PMThanks Over9k!

I would love a Torvosaurus and Barosaurus from a Morrison Formation set!  I hope for those in this figure series!  I think a Morrison set will include Allosaurus and Stegosaurus though.  Hopefully not a Diplodocus!

My $20 says Morrison, being THE Iconic Sauropod Formation, will be Allo, Stego, Brachio, Diplo.

This means they're killing the online shop in it's current form, right?

Why would it mean that?
I guess I could see them scale it back a bit, but outright killing it; surely not...?

John

I think this would be a good opportunity for them to take on famous British dinosaurs like Iguanodon and Scelidosaurus as well as other prehistoric animals like Plesiosaurus.
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

Quote from: Over9K on June 03, 2025, 09:13:43 PMMy first impressions of the T.rex...

"Between this and the Papo, feathers are back."

"Major EoFauna vibes with the adherence to science, the softer detail presentation and the simple paint app."

"Arms cast into the body... that's uncommon."

I'd like to pay $35 for this. I'll be happy paying the same $45 for this that I paid for the EoFauna. I'm expecting to pay $60.

I wouldn't be suprised to see 60 USD.

They're now a direct competitor to a lot of the brands they're stocking. It's a conflict of interest, isn't it?

Fembrogon

I don't see any situation where this new, upstart project (however good it is) sells so well it completely overshadows established brands like PNSO, Papo, Safari, etc. No two companies are exactly alike in their output, so I'm sure this line can carve a niche for itself without making a dent on the big brand sales.

If the Hell Creek set will have Anzu instead of Ankylosaurus, I think it's possible a Morrison set will have Camptosaurus or a diplodocid that isn't Diplodocus.

I just looked up the formation Scelidosaurus is from and I didn't know Plesiosaurus is from there too.  I would love to have a Scelidosaurus figure, and one of Temnodontosaurus which is from this formaton too.
I'm satisfied with my CollectA Iguanodon, but I'm interested in having other animals from the Wessex Formation, specifically Polacanthus, Neovenator and Eotyrannus.

I hope that as this series progresses, Everything Dinosaur will produce species that lack an accurate figure.

I hope you're right.

Looks great! I would imagine that these will be cast in plastic and not just 3D printed? The 1/33 scale does seem a little odd considering 1/40 would be more standard, but I'm not a stickler for scale so it doesn't really bother me. Not sure if I'm going to be picking it up or not since I really didn't want to get into yet another manufacturer-- but it is tempting.

It's like a supermarket selling its own brand of cola alongside Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Pretty normal.

I'm quite excited for this project, my wallet... not so much  :*D

1:40 hasn't been standard for a long time.  It's been replaced by 1:35.

I have no delusions about the T. rex's price tag; it will surely be steep. But I take comfort in knowing that it would be directly supporting ED. They have been invaluable to the collecting community since their inception.

I'm not sure if the brand is 'Everything Dinosaur: Evolution Unearthed', as in the teaser, or just 'Everything Dinosaur: Evolution', as in the announcement. Maybe avatar_Everything_Dinosaur @Everything_Dinosaur can clarify this for us.  O:-)

It is "Everything Dinosaur Evolution"  only.

This is a good point too. I'm very happy to support a new venture in the space, especially one coming from a such a passionate origin.

So, we should change the title of this thread? And what's Evolution Unearthed then? Maybe they just meant 'unearth', as in to reveal, the Evolution line.

That's what i think as well. There is no mention of "unearthed" in their official promo photos.

"Everything Dinosaur Evolution – Our Story
Perhaps the most scientifically accurate range of prehistoric animal models in the world. The story of how the remarkable Everything Dinosaur Evolution range came to be. With palaeontologist Dr Dean Lomax, award-winning digital sculptor Glen Southern and the highly renowned palaeo-reconstruction artist Bob Nicholls.

Their story in their own words" from their  official website.

Paleodude

I like Everything Dinosaur and would support them but a new Tyrannosaurus toy is always a hard sell in this market. Especially since they've gone with 1:33 instead of 1:35 for some reason despite it mostly being the industry standard with these types of figures? It looks nice, not quite my speed but I hope it does well so we can see the other members of Hell Creek or preferably something we don't have hundreds of toys of already.
