IMO Boundless World's Tarbosaurus completely blows PNSO's out of the water. And I suspect the same would be true if they decide to make a realistic Yutyrannus.

Base will be included and detachable

Comparing it to the PNSO's one, it would be almost difficult to say that they represent the same animal, given some striking differences in their anatomy :

Does anyone have an idea of the expected release date and if there will possibly be different color options ?

@#42 avatar_Turkeysaurus @Turkeysaurus wrote that it will be made of PVC at a 1:35 scale and will come with a base^^
I believe the PNSO Tarbo is based on a fossil with a broken skull, hence that part of the weirdness? The rest is down to soft tissue, I believe.
It's based on a poor plaster reconstruction of the skull, rest is due to funky anatomy, shoulder girdle is placed too high and feet are too large. Pnso tarbo is a really messy figure

I'm very curious about what the Tarbosaurus's colouration will be like.  It looks so good to me already and it would be so great if it had a nice colouration too.  I wonder what species this company could make in the future?

Thanks for the answers on the base!

I feel like this is a contender for 'most accurate Tyrannosaur figure available'... Can't wait to see an actual prototype...

The PNSO Tarbosaurus is a wonderful figure, even if I use it more as an aged, slightly oversized Gorgosaurus... but the anatomy is strange, as a result of the pose.

I've never felt that PNSO's Tarbosaurus had surpassed the old Favorite one, though it was certainly much more widely distributed. But this one hits the centre of the bull's-eye for me. Hope that the paint job is up to the same standard and that not too much detail is lost on the actual release.

I wish Boundless World was producing a Saurolophus angustirostris instead of a Shantungosaurus...  Maybe for their third figure?

StickyDan

That sculpt looks really good to me so far, can't wait to see what it'll look like whit color :) That said, their Yutyrannus did have issues with substantial paint chipping when put on the base, at least in my case, so I'm hoping that it'll be improved this time around.

I too have no interest in getting a Shantungosaurus for my collection, but would've been interested in a Saurolophus angustirostris.

No clue about what will they be making next, but considering their first figure was a chibi Yutyrannus and that they started making realistic figures afterwards, I guess they'd feel compelled to release a realistic Yutyrannus at some point (that's what I'd like to think, at least  ::D).

SidB

A lipped Yutyrannus with a properly to-scale skull would be welcome. I was thinking of getting Bravo models to "lip" my PNSO one, but the issue with the skull size has put that on hold. Boundless World would certainly be a candidate for making the definitive Yutyrannus, in as far as that is possible.

Shantungosaurus could technically work as barsboldia to fill up the other nemegt hadrosaur niche

Paleofiguras posted a video of a prototype of the Tarbosaurus, its head isn't narrow as far as I can tell!

OMG. Are they doing a popjaw???

W-Dragon did a full alternate head for their Stan, one open, one closed.... is Boundless Earth about to advance that technology with an alternate closed jaw that pops in!?!?

thebermuda303

Head is spot on! Really happy with how it's turning out! Also a bit of some fun news, Paleofiguras shared info that preorder on this guy should come really soon!!IMG_20250709_235531.jpg

Bodes well for the Shantungosaurus.

Very excited to see this one! I don't have a Tarbosaurus in my collection yet...

Just asking out of curiosity, having read the update regarding EDE's T. rex, but does someone have any clue on the price range of BW's Tarbosaurus ?

Betcha about 50% to 60% of ED:E's rex. $65/$70 at the MOST.
