PNSO New for 2025

It's a good choice, but it doesn't interest me.  I was really hoping for a Nothosaurus or Anshunsaurus to be made next, or a plesiosauroid.  I don't understand why PNSO has made so many ichthyosaurs but no plesiosauroid.

Halichoeres

Like the recent series of aquatic reptiles by Animal Heavenly Body, these recent few from PNSO seem to be based on fossils found in Guizhou and Yunnan and highlighted at the Geological Museum of Guizhou--so no mosasaurs or plesiosauroids. Maybe a pistosaur? But who knows, PNSO might change gears again any second. I'm going to enjoy this uncharacteristic focus on the Triassic as long as it lasts!
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

I figured there was a method to their madness beyond just making marine reptiles.

I will not stand for the plesiosaur over ichthyosaur libel on this forum!
In all seriousness though, this is awesome. I'm both an ichthyosaur and Triassic superfan, so this is near perfect for me.

Of course they release a second icthyosaur that I like even more than Youran right after I get him. Oh well - I won't complain about more nice marine reptiles.

Me too. When I started expanding my collection into dinosaurs (sensu lato lol), marine reptiles were a group I initially ignored. I am enjoying these new releases to give me the opportunity to get some new and interesting taxa!

Same. Marine reptiles are one of the weakest aspects of my collection and I've been slowly trying to fix that. Pterosaurs too but nobody likes making pterosaurs and I really only buy ones that are in resting poses.

I have the same philosophy for pterosaurs (resting, or if in flight mounted on a base, like the recent Favorite Dimorphodon). Unfortunately the recent CollectA ones are all too big for me. I think I may only have like four pterosaurs at the moment  :o

I know right? It's almost a crime that PNSO hasn't given us a single full sized pterosaur. I've said it before but it seems like such a missed opportunity. A walking quetz or hatz would be perfect and it would probably sell very nicely. Maybe their Chinese constituents only care about Chinese  dinosaurs?

That's why I ended up paying a few hundred dollars for a Musee studio quetzalcoatlus
Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean

I don't want to take the topic too far off track but I am clamoring for a standing/resting Quetzy. After the recent blog review of the TNG model by @suspy I am considering that one.

Another marine reptile and another Triassic species!

Oooh I like that it's very visually distinct compared to the Himalayasaurus.

Elengassen

On that note, and out of curiosity, does anyone know what genus PNSO's Himalayasaurus is actually based on (since the latter is so fragmentary)? I note the proportions and positioning of the hind flippers are rather different from the Guanlingsaurus.
One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.

Quote from: Doyouthinkhesaurus Rex on July 16, 2025, 02:39:41 AMDinocephalosaurus orientalis (already in the prehistoric animal line)
Keichousaurus hui (already in the mini line)
Qianichthyosaurus zhoui
Guanlingsaurus liangae
Mixosaurus panxianensis
Xinminosaurus catactes
Sinocyamodus xinpuensis (we might have a good shot at this one since PNSO posted a concept art of it on their instagram once)
Odontochelys semitestacea (already in the mini line)
Psephochelys polyosteoderma (also posted concept art of this one, looks a lot like their glyphoderma figure)
Qianosuchus mixtus
Guizhoucoelacanthus guanlingensis
Sinamia huananensis
Birgeria liui
Guizhouamia
Protopsephurus liui
It's basically confirmed that PNSO is releasing Triassic Guizhou Museum species, so based on this list and the one posted by Paleofiguras,
one of these species could be next:
-Qianichthyosaurus
-Xinminosaurus
-Qianosuchus
-Anshunsaurus
-Nothosaurus
-Xinpusaurus
-Lariosaurus
All are suitable for a 1/10 scale model, unfortunately there are no more bigger species (at least to my knowledge) that fit a 1/35 release.

Fembrogon

Nothosaurus or Lariosaurus would be most exciting for me, but frankly I would agree that ANY more of these would be a blessing by merit of how few marine reptiles are on the market at all.

suspsy

I'll probably be passing on a lot of PNSO if this really is the case. Just not interested in those animals.

Has anyone else noticed that PNSO's new figures for this year are all species that have never been made (as a non-action figure) before?  I'm enjoying this, even if I have no interest in the Stellasaurus and this new ichthyosaur.  It's refreshing, especially after how Haolonggood is making so many species which already have at least one good figure, and how EDE is doing the same, and that people keep asking Eofauna to make already well-represented species.

Guanlingsaurus and Dinocephalosaurus were both made by Animal Heavenly Body previously, so not all of them were newly made as figures.
Yes, those figures are heavily stylized, but they were made prior to these ones.

why does it look so different to the skeletal ??

Also is the honkongosaurs coming out this month

Sim

PNSO has made replica figures of species that never had a replica figure before.  That's my point.

I'm still waiting for the icthyotitan
