Mattel - New for 2025

I saw one at my local Target a couple months ago, but I passed due to the price point.

I've seen photos online of some Target shelves with very healthy Spinosaurus stock. It's just that it's such a feast or famine situation with this one specifically.

Honestly, I wouldn't pay full price for it either. I'm not enough of a JP3 fan. It would still be nice to see one in person though, and for them to be available if they were ever put on sale.

BBTS finally has the HC Spino and Stego up for pre-order. I got an order in for a couple of spinos so we'll see how it goes. Last time I pre-ordered an HC figure from them was the Pyroraptor and that got unceremoniously canceled :p

Walmart in Canada still has the HC Spino for preorder (available Jan 1 2026) BUT they jacked the price up $20.

yikes.....that's as much as WM in Canada is now charging in Canadian dollars......about $65USD.  Original price at WM in Canada was $69.97 Canadian....that's looking like quite the bargain at the moment.

I wonder if tariffs have anything to do with the US price on Amazon?  Or maybe there was a problem with the initial batch of HC Spinos and it had to be replaced, hence the delay and causing the price escalation?

It's $64.79 on Amazon US. Target price was $59.99.

There was definitely some QC issues with the jaws breaking or getting stress marks on the inside of the mouth from the articulation people assembled incorrectly or too tight. Quite a few posts on this over on the Hammond Collection subreddit. A number of people had to get in touch with Mattel customer service over it.

I'm relieved I managed to get one when I did. Target's website indicated at the time that my local store had them in stock, but strangely it wasn't available for pickup or shipping. I ended up going to the store and talking with an employee there, and she was able to locate JUST ONE figure that was either in the back of the store or tucked away in a weird display spot. I never saw another one in the store, even when they had the HC stegos out for display soon after.

My sympathies to those who missed out. Mattel/Target keep dropping the ball with this character for some reason.
Meanwhile my Walmart still has stacks of the Rebirth Spinos sitting on shelves.

well, i wouldn't give up.  WM Canada has them for preorder for Jan 1, 2026.  They've sold way over 200 of the preorder so i imagine they will be showing up.  So Mattel either goofed up on the quantity in the initial run or there was something wrong with a large chunk of the figures in the first run, making them unsellable and Mattel had to do another run of them.  Booking factory time takes a while, which would explain the Jan 1 date of the WM preorder.

We have seen new HC images. I'm betting they continue with the Rebirth branding or at least logos for next year. No idea what reimagined might be..so far it's been mostly let downs.  I'm betting we get the Indominus Rex HC next year.  If Chaos Theory really ends with this next season that will be one semi-line gone, but not til they make a few more figures for it.

It doesnt mean that. Look lego, they took a break for 2015 to 2018. And lego is still making sets.
Probably will be a no name line. And of course Indominus will have an HC, weird they didnt announced for the 10th anniversary for JW.
Chaos Theory will end in season 4, it doesnt have material to extend the biosyn valley enough.
I cant take seriously these kiddos pass the italian alps with no problem and found exactly the biosyn valley location and enter this site without any problem. Like I said to other friends its like UAC from Doom or Weyland Yutani from Alien has a special door for spies.

Beginning to fear the worst for my SDCC order. No movement in well over a week. I've submitted some inquiries to both Mattel Creations and the couriers but all I've been told so far is they either missed a scan and now it's going around waiting to be dealt with manually or it did not in fact make it to the most recent checkpoint as indicated by my tracking.

I can't seem to recall ever having a package get lost in transit but boy oh boy would it be one massive bummer if this was the one to vanish.

Hope it shows up, but if it doesn't then Mattel should give your money back as it never showed up.
