If so, I had no clue that Nothosaurus could grow that large!

Likewise! Very interesting species. Though if PNSO wants to focus on Chinese species, then maybe the similarly large N. zhangi would be considered instead of N. giganteus.

The PNSO WeChat account just posted about a collab between themselves and the Chinese film museum. Looks like there's some sort of show/exhibit centred around Chinese marine reptiles.

The post lists the following species as being part of the exhibit:

Dinocephlosaurus orientalist
Nothosaurus youngi
Guanlingsaurus
Mixosaurus panxianensis
Cyamodus orientalist
Odontochelys semitestacea
Atopodentatus unicus

I'm happy for all you marine reptileophiles, but I do really hope PNSO gets back on the Dino-train soon. haha

I'd be especially excited about Cyamodus and Nothosaurus
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

MORE, I NEED MORE TRIASSIC WEIRDOS!!
A pistosaur would be amazing. Yunguisaurus would be super up their alley

Same. Not really a fan of the idea of 1:20 scale models of 'Triassic weirdos' that the lovers of obscure species get excited about.

It's actually very annoying that even with a focus on the Triassic, there's no sign of Plateosaurus despite it being the most iconic Triassic dinosaur.

The big ones on my wishlist are a fully lipped Tyrannosaurus rex, Plateosaurus, Cetiosaurus & Muttaburrasaurus. No sign of any of those at all!

Based on what has released, Plateosaurus is far out of the pattern. Not every single figure needs to be the most popular animal.

It's not just about popularity, it's about how important certain animals were in the realms of science or evolution. Plateosaurus is so poorly represented in figure form, so it's justified to be puzzled as to why there isn't one.

To be fair, the importance to science is totally arbitrary. These are models to be purchased by collectors, not a top 10 list of most significant fossils. If that were ever PNSO's primary focus, I could understand being annoyed by the lack of Plateosaurus, but otherwise being upset that figures aren't of a proper perceived importance because they're not based off of a genus with dozens of specimens is a personal issue, not a company issue.

I would argue that most collectors would want to have those significant animals represented.

Everyone is entitled to their own preferences, but people who limit their collections to say, Triassic marine reptiles, or only ceratopsians baffle me.

"only marine reptiles and ceratopsians"
It's 3 each. Nobody's collection is in danger by letting something less common release first.

I'm not saying that at all.

Im just happy that after what 3 years of ONLY dinosaurs (and a buttload of theropods at that) pnso is actually doing something different. Dinosaurs will be back, a new rex is inevitable, but Triassic stuff? Thats way more interesting. Lately its felt like Collecta's been the only company bothering with anything not a dino so this a much welcome change of pace for me and I imagine a lot of others

If the Triassic focus gave us Plateosaurus, Cymbospondylus, Riojasaurus etc, then it'd be more exciting.

I'd love for PNSO to try their hand at prehistoric amphibians as well as Permian stem-mammals. I'm totally on board with them making more Triassic weirdos. All I ask is that they stay in 1/35 scale. Their new one looks great but I don't think it's 1/35.
Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean

I wish one of the brands would make some 1:35 or 1:25 scale raptor figures. I love Rebor's deinonychus trio.

Sim

The lack of Plateosaurus is really weird.  Not from PNSO, but companies in general.  For example, I don't believe Safari can rely on how well the Carnegie Plateosaurus sold to determine whether it's worth making a new figure of one since the Carnegie figure is a rather poor representation of the animal.  CollectA has a relatively nice Plateosaurus but it too has key errors that make it unsatisfying.  In any case though, PNSO has been focusing on marine reptiles featured in that museum, which is why we won't see Plateosaurus or another overdue animal like a plesiosauroid or dromaeosaurid.  I'd love these latter animals from PNSO, and Cymbospondylus too, but I'm not thinking we might see them until PNSO stops with the species from that museum.  Personally, I'm just hoping for a Nothosaurus from PNSO before they stop making figures of the marine animals from that museum, although I'd be interested in a pistosaur too.  What I'm drreading is PNSO making only one extant animal and nothing prehistoric in a month.  I would prefer if they made one of each in a month.
