I'll give this one more week before closing it and tallying up the winners. Now's the chance to make any last minute adjustments.

That PNSO Lufengosaurus has pulled into a clear lead over HLG's colossal Argentinosaurus. Size seems rather irrelevant here. The latter is a quality figure for sure, but there's something about that Lufengo. I hope that this inspires others to make other sauropodmorphs and their allies. I was thrilled to see CollectA issue their Ingentia recently, and have ordered one from Minizoo.

Looks like I forgot to close the poll. Um, yeah, so I'll do it tonight. Gonna try to shoot around 6 or 7 pm est time, maybe after. I think I'm also going to revisit my top ten as well, as I really want to include Mattel's Diplodocus in my votes now that I have it in hand.

Here's what I previously voted for, fwiw:

CollectA Placerias
Creative Beast BotM Gorgosaurus
Creative Beast BotM Utahraptor
Haolonggood Alamosaurus
Haolonggood Argentinosaurus (even though I'll never be able to afford one, it's an incredible feat for a company only a few years into doing this to pull that off)

Mattel JW Poposaurus

You're not alone, avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin , in voting for and applauding a figure that you haven't purchased, namely the HLG Argentinosaurus. Selling for over 500 dollars Cdn., including shipping and other charges, it has the two proverbial chances of entering my collection - slim and none. But it's a great piece and will remain truly impressive. I'm really glad that there's a viable market for it and that some DTF members have been able to acquire it without being sent to debtor's prison. For myself, I recently got the older 2016 PNSO Huanghetitan which after an absence of several years, re-appeared on Aliexpress. As L @Leyster pointed out, it can very nicely stand in for a generic Titanosaur, and is a visually remarkable model in it's own right, but for a fraction of the cost. Nice to see that the winner, the PNSO Lufengosaurus, is a visually far less massive figure, but one that in rarity  and production values has received the accolades and votes that it deserves. Thank you for taking the plunge and running this poll for us.

Faelrin

So it turns out I actually forgot to close the vote on this poll the other night. Oops. I've gone and done it now. I also revised my vote:

Creative Beast Gorgosaurus
Creative Beast Utahraptor
Haolonggood Alamosaurus
Haolonggood Argentinosaurus
Mattel JW HC Allosaurus
Mattel JW HC Therizinosaurus
Mattel JW Legacy Diplodocus
PNSO Lokiceratops
PNSO Lufengosaurus
Safari Ltd Austroraptor

I also debated voting for the BotM Allosaurus and Dilophosaurus, but held off as I prefer the Cyberzoic versions which are releasing this year (ditto for the Smilodon). The HC Allosaurus and Therizinosaurus are some of Mattel's best, so I wanted to vote for them, and they are next on my to get list. And the Lokiceratops has been growing on me. Hope to pick it and the Lufengosaurus up sometime this year.

Unfortunately this means I bumped off the CollectA Placerias, Mesozoic Life Spinosaurus, and Mattel's Eoraptor and Poposaurus, as much as I also really like all of them.

Anyways I will next work on tallying up the totals, and perhaps also do the pie chart thing I've done for last year's poll (and others).

Okay here's the top ten results. We had 92 votes total, which I think was more then previous years. Will have to check and compare. Sauropods absolutely dominated it, and no surprises there.

PNSO Lufengosaurus 53
Haolonggood Argentinosaurus 49
PNSO Lokiceratops 46
Haolonggood Stegosaurus 35
Haolonggood Triceratops 32
PNSO Camarasaurus 32
Eofauna Tyrannosaurus 31
PNSO Edmontosaurus 31
Haolonggood Alamosaurus 29
Haolonggood Mamenchisaurus 21

Here's the runner ups (it's impressive to finally see some of Creative Beast Studio's figures almost make it to the top ten, despite the onslaught and tough competition of Haolonggood and PNSO, and Eofauna as well):

Good to see that HLG gets rewarded for taking a tremendous risk in issuing three huge sauropods that get elected for the top 10. Three old classics, Stegosaurus, Triceratops and T-rex get chosen for the middle of the race. And a basal sauropodmorph leads the pack - hurray!

Amazon ad:

Carnoking

Can't say there's anything on that list that I disagree with. Not surprised that HLG and PNSO dominated. I actually broke one of my cardinal rules and cast a vote for the Argentinosaurus despite not having one in hand yet but I think it's a pretty safe bet that it will prove to be one of the most impressive figures in my collection.

ceratopsian

I too unusually voted for something I didn't own: the Lokiceratops. But mine arrived a few days ago and it's as good as I expected from photographs and video. So I'm happy to have made this exception to my rule for such an outstanding release.

Halichoeres

I was expecting Lufengosaurus to place in the top 10, but not necessarily for it to get to number one. It is the most distinctive true dinosaur released by the big players last year, so maybe that's a factor. Thanks again for running this, Faelrin!

I wonder what Haolonggood would need to make to come in first place?  They came very close to it in this poll!  What could get ranked higher than a massive Argentinosaurus?  I think it's possible Haolonggood would come in first place with their Brachiosaurus or new Tyrannosaurus if they didn't have exposed teeth.  However, I also think a company could come in first place in one of these polls if they made a Plateosaurus.  It's the most wanted species on this forum and we've seen how well the PNSO Lufengosaurus did!

crazy8wizard

If I were to guess, maybe the price and sheer size of the argentinosaurus knocked it a few points lower. As for the rest maybe it's because they're species that have already been made before?

By default here, then the Lufengosaurus had a certain leverage, likely enough. But since I have it, I can say, as others have, that its quality of production is really superb. IMO, it deserved its triumph, not being an unworthy winner. Then again, I wouldn't have been upset if the Argentinosaurus had prevailed either. It was and is a monumental production, which I suspect that I'll never be able to afford, though I'm glad that some of us can.

Faelrin

Probably helps fill a much needed gap on the market. Non sauropod sauropodomorphs have been kind of mia on the market for a long time now, even if the Haolonggood Argentinosaurus is one of the largest made to date. However there is options for giant sauropod figures outside that particular genus, and nothing but dated figures for non sauropod sauropodomorphs.

Even now I still see demand for Plateosaurus, which is great, but it's good to see something like Lufengosaurus, which also has good material, and routinely neglected, be brought to light. The vivid striped green coloration is much different from PNSO's typcial colorations. Hopefully the positive reception of it can lead to them doing more down the road.

Another thing is that PNSO has had a market prescence for longer so that too might haven given an edge in favor of the Lufengosaurus, other then its smaller size and being much lighter on the wallet then the other.

PNSO's Lufengosaurus is not only small and inexpensive, it's really pretty! The colors and patterns are a treat and the sculpt work is impressive. Not to say the Argentinosaurus isn't, in fact far from it, but a great figure that lots of people can get ahold of is certainly a bonus.

Joliezac

I got my first PNSO figures in 2024. I limited myself to 5 and I was really shocked when I ended up picking the Lufengosaurus, as it was a species I wasn't familiar with. Its coloration and uniqueness ultimately made my decision. A really great figure!!
