Frankly, nothing about the PNSO Tyrannotitan is appealing to me.  Except for not having a base.

I agree! It's one of the few PNSO carcharodontosaurid figures that I have. I don't think it will make my top ten though. As far as PNSO goes I'm thinking the Camarasaurus, Lokiceratops, and Lufengosaurus will be my picks. Still not able to narrow it down to a top ten though. This gets harder every year.

ceratopsian

I voted for the three PNSOs avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi is considering. Unusually I'm voting for Lokiceratops even though I don't have it yet, as it's been slow to reach Everything Dinosaur.

2024 was a huge year for dino models of all types. There were four in particular that I feel particularly passionate about, as I genuinely think they have changed the game.
1. PNSO Edmontosaurus - This is not only the best PNSO figure, but it is also probably my favourite dinosaur model ever made. The attention to accuracy is nearly unfathomable. This is the closest any dino model has come to looking like the real thing to me.
2. BotM Dilophosaurus - This is my favourite BotM figure... and I literally have a figure in this line! XD (Sorry, Old Buck) The paint and sculpt are great, but the engineering/articulation is especially great. This is easily the most expressive dinosaur action figure ever made.
3. Hammond Collection Giganotosaurus - I had low expectations for this one as I don't like the design or the film it stars in, but this figure is fantastic. It's huge, well-proportioned, and super articulated. The over-the-top design works so much better as a good action figure over a movie-monster too. It's easily the best thing Mattel has put out so far.
4. Haolonggood Argentinosaurus - Little needs to be said for this one. This was a landmark piece as far as dinosaur models go and something a lot of us have been waiting decades for. It is something incredibly special and should be celebrated.

I think all four of these have been said already, but I just had to get my thoughts out there!

Elengassen

This was a tough one, so many great figures to choose from. I agree that 10 options doesn't feel like enough  :P
I tried to balance out my choices between companies somewhat. I managed to get PNSO, Safari, Haolonggood, Creative Beast and Mesozoic Life in there, but sadly none of this year's CollectA figures made the cut (although it's not that big a deal, as I don't have any of them and probably won't be getting any).
One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.

Joliezac

So many great choices! I only voted for figures I personally own. Mostly HLG, then PNSO, Eofauna, & Mesozoic Life.

Pachyrhinosaurus

Voted for the Safari Austroraptor, Nanuqsaurus, Stegorous, Saltasaurus, and Therizinosaurus, with the therizinosaurus being my personal #1.

picking just 10 was tough

voted for only those that i own in my collection (except 1) and ended up with the following:

CollectA Placeiras
HLG Alamosaurus, Argentinosaurus, Camarasaurus, Edmontosaurus, Maiasaura, Stegosaurus
PNSO Tyrannotitan, Lufengosaurus, Camarasaurus

Faelrin

Thanks to all who participated so far. We currently have a tie, with a very close third. I happened to vote for both of them too (and nearly did so with the third runner up), which might not be helping lol. I'm actually really surprised and glad to see the one doing so well, while the other was perhaps expected.

All this is true, particularly the coloration, and it's easily a top ten unfeathered theropod. But none of those made it on my list outside BotM.

ceratopsian

This is what I voted for:

Haolonggood:
Alamosaurus
Argentinosaurus
Camarasaurus
Chasmosaurus
Huayangosaurus
Stegosaurus
Triceratops
PNSO
Lufengosaurus
Camarasaurus
Lokiceratops

For me top spot without a quiver of doubt went to the HLG Argentinosaurus; and second place to PNSO's Lufengosaurus.
I couldn't quite find a CollectA model to vote for this year, though next January might be different as I'm looking forward to several in their lineup.  I debated whether to vote for the Meng Shantungosaurus but it didn't quite edge in.

thomasw100

I voted for 6 PNSO (Edmontosaurus, Lufengosaurus, Wuerhosaurus, Baryonyx, Camarasaurus, Lokiceratops) and 4 Haolonggood (Alamosaurus, Argentinosaurus, Mamenchisaurus, Stegosaurus).

It is a bit sad to see that the PNSO Edmontosaurus gets relatively little recognition, considering the exceptional level of scientific accuracy this figure has.

Also the Haolonggood Mamenchisaurus gets relatively few votes though this clearly is an outstanding sauropod model. Definitely size matters when it comes to sauropod models.

SidB

I have the PNSO Edmontosaurus too, and have to agree that it is a stand out figure. I suppose that there persists a residual disinterest in hadrosaurs in general as lacking horns, spikes and sharp teeth that might account for that - at least I have to plead guilty for such sentiments in the past. No more!

i voted for Edmontosaurus but Haolonggood  :D

Faelrin

I've currently tallied up over all the results atm, and last place is a tie between two figures at 13 votes each. 5-8 is tied at 17 votes each. As expected the current winners are between Haolonggood and PNSO, with two surprise showings (though they have done well in previous polls), that is assuming one of the last place ties wins in 10th place.

Every time I try to vote on this I can't narrow it down.  :-\

Carnoking

Gosh, how do you choose just ten from such a great year? I might have to hold out on voting until I get around to picking up the HLG Argentinosaurus (though I have little doubt it will make the list). How long are we giving folks to choose?

Noideaforaname

BotM:
Utahraptor
Deinonychus
Albino Zuniceratops

HC:
Therizinosaurus
Giganotosaurus
Pyroraptor
Scutosaurus
Dimetrodon
Atrociraptor Ghost
Baby Triceratops

As it turns out, I got exactly ten dinos from the list, hehe.

Honorable mention to the Transformer Magmatron. A robot that splits into a Giganotosaurus, a Elasmosaurus, and a Quetzalcoatlus is a lot of fun!

Halichoeres

Thanks for pulling all this together, avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin!

My votes went to non-dinosaurs and dinosaurs that added real variety to what is available, as well as small animals in scales other than 1:35. I like large things in 1:35, but many animals can't be really appreciated in that scale and we need more of those animals.

Alright, I put way too much thought into this thing but ultimately decided that I HAD to pick at least one figure from each company I collected this year and it had to be for a figure I owned or planned to own in the short term.

In no particular order I went with...

CollectA Placerias: The only CollectA prehistoric figure I acquired in 2024 and the only one I really wanted. There's no scenario where it wouldn't make the cut. I have a lot of love for the non-dinosaur underdogs.

Haolonggood Edmontosaurus: Despite a lot of decent Edmontosaurus figures out there they were all surpassed by the offerings from HLG and PNSO this year. I waited a long time for an Edmontosaurus like those two and I chose HLG for my collection. If it got my dollar vote then it also gets my top ten vote.

Haolonggood Stegosaurus: In my eyes the best Stegosaurus ever made AND it's S. ungulatus!

Mattel JW HC Giganotosaurus: I wouldn't mind voting in a top ten for Mattel poll (I think I started one last year but never did anything with it) but this was the obvious pick from a lot of great choices. I don't even like Dominion or the design for the Giga so that should say something about this action figure. The Diplodocus was very nearly in my top ten as well but I don't have it yet.

PNSO Camarasaurus: My favorite sauropod got a lot of love this year and this was the clear winner of the two for me. Despite many great sauropods from HLG I think this one surpasses them all. Even the Argentinosaurus. Size isn't everything!

PNSO Lokiceratops: Best ceratopsian of the year goes to PNSO's only ceratopsian. Again, HLG had many great offerings (I bought most of them) but this one surpasses them all. Of Haolonggood's the Chasmosaurus and Triceratops almost got votes.

PNSO Lufengosaurus: Perhaps the best dinosaur figure of the year.

Safari Ltd Austroraptor: While PNSO and HLG have mostly usurped Safari and CollectA, neither of them offered any small feathered theropods this year. Safari still reigns supreme in that department. Stegouros almost made the cut too.

ToyMonster Captivz JW Chaos Theory Pachyrhinosaurus: kind of tough to vote for something like this but since ToyMonster sent me a large package of Captivz toys to review for the blog my 2024 collecting was very much defined by them. This was the best of the bunch and the only one worthy of my top ten. Being my favorite ceratopsian helped. It really is a remarkable little figure for what it is and how much it costs.

Yowie Atopodentatus: Again, I don't know that a blind bag figure I bought at Walmart for $3 should make the cut but the excitement I felt over finding it after much searching means that maybe it does deserve it. I like that a kid can go into Walmart and end up bringing home an Atopodentatus.
