Quote from: Saarlooswolfhound on May 28, 2025, 05:11:44 AMI was perusing ebay a few weeks ago and stumbled across a fellow STS member's listings I just had to pull the trigger on. The Bullyland Dire Wolf! Of course it is not truly a good representative of the species but its been a low key grail for sometime and I was desperately looking for a reasonably priced one. I was kicking myself on missing out on one for double the cost of this a few weeks earlier.

Bullyland made 3 figures with the exact same mold (but with different colors ) : Wolf / Arctic Wolf ( Alaskan ) / Dire Wolf .
Wolf was grey.
Artic Wolf was white and light grey.
Dire Wolf was brownish.
It seems that you found an Artic Wolf.

In my collection I've got a Bullyland Wolf (grey version):

^-^

I understand the marketing and variations of the model, but as a wolf enthusiast I can say none of these are arctic wolves for certain, and while they could generally pass as generic gray wolves, I will be classifying it as a dire wolf as that was the original marketing name for the mould. (Though I agree- it doesn't look like a dire wolf either with our current understanding). Its one of those neither here nor there situations so I am choosing what works for me.

I have been looking for years and they for pop up now and then, sometimes for a good price. This one was listed for 35$ and after shipping was only 42$. Keep looking! I'll keep my eyes peeled for you too. Did you have a color and condition preference? This one does have a few small scuffs but nothing horrible.

SidB

Well, thank you for that offer. My preference, as far as that's concerned, is for the brownish one, but really, first come, first served - I probably can't be choosy! I don't mind scuffs (they can be repainted), but the plastic needs to be free of gouges and major scratches.

Another batch! These are partly ebay finds and partly birthday purchases. The new Eofauna elephants are fantastic of course!

And I should have a part 2 to share once a few other packages arrive to me.

Thank you avatar_Paleo Flo @Paleo Flo! And yes, I think the Eofaunas are wonderful.

My most anticipated model arrived today (still 2 more purchases from my birthday splurge are still on the way). Anyway, Ramses by Mesozoic Life is simply goegeous. I love him! He has a few minor paint flaws and his right foot got a little warped in transit but I think I can fix that easily enough. He is a first of its kind indulgence for me, but since its my favorite dino, in a modern interpretation that I like (the posture/gait/locomotion), and has a lovely paint scheme I just went for it.

And now I am planning out a special prehistorics display shelf to show off some of my favorite models including him and my Eofauna Sue! I'm not good with scale but I think they roughly fit together? At any rate, I think they present two varieties of powerful extinct predators.

Joliezac

Fantastic new addition!! Everytime I see Sue I'm reminded I need to pick her up, alas I have Rebor's Kiss Island Rex arriving tomorrow and do not need another rex  :*D

Congrats, the ML Spinosaurus is a great acquisition!

Quote from: Saarlooswolfhound on July 15, 2025, 03:05:15 AMI'm not good with scale but I think they roughly fit together?

Not really, the Spinosaurus is in 1:25 scale whereas the Tyrannosaurus is in 1:35 scale. So the difference is noticeable.

It has taken me a minute to come back to this, work has been nuts this week.

Thank you both! And a special thanks for the scale correction, I appreciate it as I am terrible about judging it correctly.

If you follow my "Zoonotic" social media (Facebook and Instagram) I recently got to take a mini vacation down to see my sister's family and then popped over to see the Dinosaur National Monument Quarry and the Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum (phew!) near Vernal, Utah. And then we spent some time at the Bean Life Science Museum in Provo, Utah. It was a very last minute scrapped together vacation, but it was a ton of fun for me and my Mom and it was nice to go visit those places again. Anyway, I have photos of our trip on social media if anyone is curious but here is my haul!
