I feel like their older Smilodon and Mammoth looked better. Nice to see yet another figure of the Moa though (after Eikoh's last year). I hope that trend continues.

I fully agree; these new figures look cartoony in proportions compared to the originals. I guess maybe they wanted larger figures to sell without the calf and caveman?

The moa looks alright, though; more extinct bird toys is a nice thing.

Halichoeres

Well, the mammoth with calf and Smilodon with human were both in the full-size Ania line. I think these are capsule figures, so they're going to be a little cruder.

New Jurassic World Dominion figures coming on the way. Atrociraptor (Ghost, Panthera, Red, & Tiger), Baryonyx, Carnotaurus, Dimetrodon, Giganotosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Pyroraptor, Quetzalcoatlus, Therizinosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor (Blue & Beta):

I don't usually collect these, since I usually get the Mattel stuff, but I think I definitely want to pick up that Pyroraptor at least, if it turns out their mainline figure lacks the wings like the basic figure does. At least it has leg and jaw articulation for me to fiddle around with. It won't be a true replacement because it'll be a bit on the small side, but it may tide me over, if/until a more accurate Hammond Collection version of it releases. Maybe the Parasaurolophus as well, again depending on how the Mattel one does, since this Takara Tomy version looks pretty faithful to the new design of it (edit: At least color wise. Safe to say we know what the sculpt will be like since it'll probably share the same sculpt as the Roland Tembo Legacy Collection set does).

Thanks, Toby.

Do you have a release date?

Also, I wouldn't mind anyone who's a member of that group answering the recent question re: buying these with a reference to me (There or in any other appropriate forum/site...).

I could do it myself but I imagine it would be more trusted and therefore effective coming from someone who's an existing member and not from me, the one who stands to benefit.

For anyone interested, I'm taking orders now.

Thanks.
Brett

avatar_brettnj @brettnj Unfortunately, I do not. I just stumbled across those pics while browsing instagram. Figured I should share them here to give folks a heads up about them. Hopefully someone who knows more about these could help share more info here. I would certainly like to know when these are releasing, prices, etc.

Thanks x2.

I came here to share that page as well.

According to my source, the figures released on April 14.

Taking orders now (from the Takara site in the link above) and will place the order Tuesday morning.

If interested and not on my mailing list, please PM ASAP.

Thanks.

Hmm, that Pyroraptor looks decent!  And probably easier to get than either version of the Captivz.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

What are the chances of the Pyroraptor getting a standalone release? I don't really care for Rexy and Blue that's packed with it in the set.

The Giganotosaurus and Therizinosaurus on the other hand look quite nice. The Parasaurolophus as well looks particularly elegant.

brettnj

My source in Japan tells me these are due next month.

Taking orders now.

If interested and not on my mailing list, please PM.

Thanks.

Okay so I put this link into google translate: https://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/ania/products/jurassicworld/figure/ and went from there.

The Quetzalcoatlus, Parasaurolophus, Dimetrodon, Atrociraptor (Tiger), and Blue (Snow Version) are available as single release figures. Approximate cost might be 1,100 yen (tax included). The Pyroraptor is unfortunately currently only in the set with the Tyrannosaurus, and Blue. The Giganotosaurus, and Therizinosaurus is in a set with Beta I think? The last set is with Atrociraptor Ghost, Red, and Panthera. Prices for the sets is approximately 2,750 yen (tax included). Reservations for the sets and single figures seems to be May 31st. So I'm guessing they won't be able to be ordered until then.

Some more pics:

It seems the Baryonyx and Carnotaurus are not available as of yet. Might be coming later in the year then?

The Baryonyx and Carnotaurus are included in this playset. No news on whether the new Carnotaurus will be standalone releases in the future though, the Baryonyx however already had a standalone release for FK.

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Oh I missed that. Thanks for the correction. I actually forgot to take a look at those playsets earlier and share them here. Will do that later when I get the chance.

Some capsule figures coming out soon. Most of these look like repaints of figures released in 2020, but I don't recognize the Stegosaurus and it might be new.

Allosaurus

Brachiosaurus

Stegosaurus

Tyrannosaurus

Takara Tomy is a lot like Bandai in that both make really gorgeous extant animals but their prehistoric ones are mediocre at best.
