Oh wow thank you! They must have added them this last week.

*edit*
Aaaand it doesn't worth without texting. Guess I'll have to try ordering them in-store.

doesn't work without texting?   What does that mean?

stargatedalek

Walmart doesn't let you order online without "confirming via text". Email and regular phone won't work. It's fine, I'll find some workaround or get someone younger at heart who has one to help lmao.

avatar_stargatedalek @stargatedalek  ...yeah they do.....it just looks like they don't.  I went through the same thing the first time i ordered from them.  All you have to do is uncheck the receive text box and you can order without getting texted.

They my have changed it at some point, as I have no option to uncheck anything text related. Only a "change" button which just returns me to the previous screen to change the phone number (which had a checkbox to disable email sale alerts, but again nothing text related).

i just tried a mock purchase and i had no problem, i could have bought without texts.

Have you signed up for an account?  If not, you may need to.  Also, i am paying with Paypal. not sure if that makes a difference.

That is the issue in itself, it redirects me to "make an account first", and it won't let me do that without text confirmation. That would explain it though if you made an account before they started trying to mandate text confirmation.

that's strange.  I just placed my first order online with WM 2 or 3 weeks ago and that's when i signed up.  It's odd that they'd put a restriction like that in at all, let alone so recently.

Look carefully again.  I was convinced i wasn't going to be able to order without the text option until i realized all i had to do was unselect it.  I remember the unselect was on the left side of the screen and it didn't look like an option, it was just auto filled in, but i was able to get rid of it by clicking on it.

It just seems so strange that they would force someone to receive texts before letting them order online....they would lose a lot of sales because of it, for a variety of reasons.

i found this with a google search:

'Walmart does not force customers to receive text messages to place an online order. You can opt out of receiving text messages from Walmart and still place orders online. Walmart uses text messages as an optional communication method for order updates and promotions. If you wish to opt out, you can do so through your account settings on Walmart.com, by contacting customer service, or by replying "STOP" to any text message from Walmart.'

If you can't figure out how to unselect the text message option call customer service and they will tell you what to do.  I've found that ordering online from WM is as easy as Amazon.

stargatedalek

It's not a matter of opting out, I don't have a cellphone. I can't send the confirmation code they demand to be able to text me. I think I'm not even getting to the page you're talking about.

i don't have a cell phone either, i bought on my pc.  I opted out of receiving texts when i signed up for an account on WM.  I've made 3 purchases online with WM with no need to receive any text messages...which is good because i can't.  I think i got a confirmation email when i signed up for the account, that had a link inside that i had to click on to verify the email address, but that was it.

Like i said, phone customer service they should be able to walk you through signing up without need for text messages.

Received mine today along with the Chilantisaurus. Both are well detailed and pretty awesome. I never thought I'd be getting species from Mattel and decently done ones before  I received scientific replicas from elsewhere.

Collect Jurassic has reported someone has found the Distortus rex (and Aquilops) raft set at Target. So keep an eye out there.

Got myself the "Bite 'N' Blast" Mosasaurus

While the Dilophasaur dinner implies it's kaiju-sized, at 25" the Mosasaur works as a more realistic 1/18 scale toy, neat!

The toy's gimmick is that it's supposed to launch it's lunch, though I haven't been able to get much distance out of it. On the flip side, it provides a fair bit of throat to shove other toys in.

I suppose the little Dilo could work as a baby? Meh.
(Wow they really missed with the eye paint, lol)

Blade-of-the-Moon

Received him today, I don't know how I missed that big claw shaped neck wattle before. I think I was drawn in by the overall color scheme.

crazy8wizard

The weird dewlap thing may be oddly shaped but I don't think it's too far out of the realm of plausibility. It at least looks like there's some draped skin around the edges.
