Quote from: Dilopho on May 02, 2025, 09:30:33 PMThe D. rex toy is called Rumble 'N Rampage, so presumably that "built in snarl" is referring to vibration in the head, like that one Epic Roarin' T. rex, or whatever it was called. The Camp Cretaceous one.

NGL I find these gimmicks too much sometimes. I'm sure the kids are very entertained by them, but I prefer to be able to pose and move my dinosaur toys on my own terms, rather than have a built-in mechanism with preset movements do it for me.

Hence why I find the 'Lab Lockdown' rex superior to its 'Power Devour' counterpart.

Me too, I do photography of these guys for fun and I get tired of having to discreetly jam debris into their joints and buttons to keep them holding a simple pose.

I save the sturdy clear film like with the pull to try plastic ? It's useful for a lot of things and not visible.

I found the new Spinosaurus, Colossal Rex and Mosa boat set on Amazon UK, and the Colossal Rex on Amazon JP, but no shipping to me sadly.

SO. MANY. NEW. TOYS!!  :o

Can't wait to find that Inostrancevia in person...always wanted to have the JP Lycaenops but never did. You can go ahead and release that one as a HC figure if you can do a HC Scutosaurus, right Mattel??

That's my dream too.

And an updated Ornithosuchus (the forgotten third weirdo from the Kenner days)

Although we've gotten several other Triassic pseudosuchians. Spiritual successors.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

avatar_SBell @SBell I think the 2020 Postosuchus is a call back to the unreleased Kenner one.

But I want a more modern Ornithosuchus!

I'd still like a new one. Can't be just it and Starlux!

Paleodude

Went to Walmart (in Canada) today and to my surprise the first wave of Wild Roars were in stock!

Baryonyx looks way better than the promotional shots but Utahraptor is kind of a let down. The paint feels unfinished, the arms are made of this cheap feeling soft rubber, and the teeth in the lower jaw are molded separately but not inset into any gums so they just look like one giant monotooth.

End of the day only went home with Maiasaura as in my opinion it's the best looking of the assortment and an often underrepresented species in the hobby. It is a little small for 1:18 for an 8-9 meter adult (1:22-1:24) but fits the bill for a smaller 7 ish meter smaller adult.

Overall it's a good first entry to the line but I do worry about paint application with how frankly conservative Mattel has been, especially with painted nails, claws, and horns.

I found some at my Canadian walmart today too! Sadly they only had the Maisaura in stock from this wave/set. They also had the lab rex and baby Dolores. Emphasis on had in the latter case, hehe.

That Utah might be good to repaint in the Kenner colors.

Here's a video of the Spinosaurus figure set!

Wow that's a completely unexpected surprise. Would have thought we would have gotten one of the Rebirth trio, as we did with the new T. rex and Mosasaurus.

I have no doubts a lot of folks will be happy it is the JPIII one here.

About time, I was really surprised they hadn't already made a SC JP3 spino

CityRaptor

Interesting that most of the pictures show it with the '93 Classic Hatchlings rather than the usual Minis. I wonder if those are included this time.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Can the wrists be rotated to pronated?

Good catch, it sorta looks like it!
