PNSO - 2025 Hopes and Dreams

People got mad at me for saying PNSO were showing signs of shutting up shop.

I was right after all.

I take no pride in being right about this. They were my favourite company and there were so many figures I wanted them to make.

Unless the current CEO leaves, then I don't think we'll be seeing PNSO in the "New for 2025" part of the forum, or beyond.

Quote from: Carnoking on January 23, 2025, 09:20:14 AMIf true, this is incredibly disappointing news, not only for the fact that new figures might not be forthcoming but that Zhao Chuang has to deal with his art being stolen

I received confirmation about the intellectual property case from another source. So this I believe is reliable information.

The new CEO who took office last year didn't seem to like dinosaurs at all, and last year's model production line was slowed down, and a batch of dinosaur cards were put on the market as a new business venture>:(
Now no one knows what the first new product in 2025 will be and when it will be announced :'( At least until the factory resumes work after the Spring Festival

Then, Happy Year of the Snake 2025! :-*

Very disappointed by this bad news. I thought that in a country like China, where capitalism is still largely state-controlled, a structure like PNSO would be fairly stable. If China had the will to shine in the world in the field of science and paleontology too, then it would have continued to release figurines and other dinosaur products. It's a pity, because as has already been said, PNSO is still my favorite brand and produces, overall, the best figurines.

I'm therefore going to pin my hopes on other, more confidential brands like Showana studio, which will be releasing its PVC scotty T rex and which could revolutionize the quality of PVC figurine production at under $100, but I can't see them launching 10 figurines a year :(

不要这样悲观,赵闯和杨杨有一个从2010到2070的长达60年的宏伟计划,这几个月只是一个小小的波折,PNSO曾经有过更艰难的时刻,但它还是挺过来了 ^-^

Don't be so pessimistic, Zhao Chuang and Yang Yang have a grand plan for 60 years from 2010 to 2070, these months are just a small twist and turn, PNSO has had more difficult moments, but it still survived ^-^

It is technically a little too big for 1:35 allosaurus fragilis. If I recall correctly it's more around 1:32. But it is very possible that there were some individuals of A. Fragilis that got that big. And we know there were some extra large allosaurus species like A. anax

Thank you! In that case I might grab one soon... I was holding out on them doing a lipped revamp of their A. jimmadseni...

Indeed, this wouldn't be the first hiatus we've seen from PNSO. I'm sure this will just be another wrinkle. The only question is how long it will take to get back on track

Why are CEO's always so out of touch?
Must be the thin air up there. Or maybe the hot air.

Quote from: ARGDino on January 23, 2025, 12:31:04 AMTheir figures are fantastic, but despite all my reading of reviews and watching them I still don't know which ones are considered the best for accuracy. With them being as expensive as they are, I can only afford to buy so many.

Did they really make a Majunasaurus though? I must have missed it if they did (I know HLG recently released one).

The youtube channel DinosDragons is my go to review for PNSO and Haolonggood figures. Watching his reviews should give you a good sense of how accurate a figure is then you can decide if it meets your own criteria.

PNSO is still my preferred company overall.

Some of their standout figures for me in terms of accuracy and aesthetics are:
Lokiceratops
Edmontosaurus
Camarasaurus
Deinocheirus
Helicoprion
Saurophaganax (Works great for Allosaurus fragilis)
Olorotitan
Suchomimus
Gorgosaurus (no lips but other than that a great figure that can work for both Albertosaurus or gorgosaurus)

Remind me again - does the PNSO Saurophaganax fit the size estimates for A. fragilis in 1:35 scale?
PNS is more or less 11m along the centra there are a handfull big adult fragilis of that size and Allosaurus anax was probably very similar to fragilis so it works, in any case it fits any Allosaurus much more than to apatosaurus  ;D  ;D

I miss PNSO already 😞

I miss those exciting monthly announcements, I miss having a wishlist of figures I wanted them to make, and excitedly ticking them off when they did indeed make one of those figures.

I miss fitting new figures onto a shelf, I miss planning dioramas for them.

The new CEO has broken many hearts. I hope he's happy.

I hear you. But don't fret too much, because he's probably as happy as a clam. Anyways, there's the continuing emergence and flourishing of HLG and any vacuum created will likely be filled by some other company. Then again, it may not turn out so badly with PNSO in the long run.

Are you able to share your source for this information? Has local or national press reported these facts, or are you (or someone you know) connected to the company?

I do feel it's best to sit tight, wait, and see if any official word comes down regarding the future of PNSO.

Only other company might fill niche of PNSO is Showanna if they are serious about PVC market imo. Tyrannosaurus looks around PNSO level, let's see whatelse they'll release.

Meanwhile i'll be in debt of 1:35 HLG sauropods so i can wait for PNSO's comeback.

Question about zhao chuang paleoart. This is related about an AI took his art?
Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Conan, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!

PNSO responded in a social media thread that they will continue to make dinosaur figures.

This is why I said it's better to wait and see instead of pushing panic buttons.

We are peer pressuring PNSO to release a new figure through immense gossip!

I'm proud of you all.

I'm proud of you all.

Two things:

1. We aren't peer pressuring anyone. If PNSO wants to release more figures they will. If they don't, they won't. Fortunately, as can be seen above, they officially stated they have plans to release more figures.

2. I'm not proud, because I'm also tired of this doomposting. At this rate, PNSO can officially state every single day they plan on releasing more figures, and people will still be saying that's it for PNSO figures and so on...

Having hopes & dreams for PNSO may be futile.

I'm finding the persistent doomposting quite repetetive and unproductive.

^ Just this.

Looking forward to the next PNSO figure, first and foremost so that this doomposting can end. (Well, unless after that they don't release a new figure 10 seconds after the first).

First, it is not nice that you leash out against all people who have raised some concerns about the future of PNSO releases. It is also not appropriate to frame this discussion altogether as doomposting.

Second, if I ask to give the link to the original PNSO post where they confirm their intention to continue producing figures it is out of curiosity. One may want to see the original wording. I cannot see what would be wrong with this.

Third, you need to accept that this 4 month break in PNSO releases is an anomaly compared to their release schedule in more than 5 years. Which warrants to ask for an explanation.
