Kinda wishing I had $75 lying around...

That should never stop anyone! ;) I have no vested interest in this... >:D

On the other hand, I am hoping to have the 3 fish figures up mid-week...the pre-order for the trio won't be that much! ;D

SBell

As of yesterday I received my Safari 2016 initial order! Which is great, and all loaded up:

https://faunafigures.com/product-tag/newsafari2016/

One thing I was really suprised about was the improved paint jobs on some of the sharks, and the reissued prehistoric mammals.

I will say/post more about them when I get to them, but I just haven't had the time today.

I also received my first batch of the FF Fish line--the bichir, African butterflyfish and West African lungfish

I had more time with them today, so pictures!

I'm pretty excited to finally have these available!

And some group shots:

A raft of butterflyfish:

A...breath?...of lungfish:

And a...beaching?...biking?...of bichirs:

I have been waiting since I was 12 (an unreasonably long time ago) to see figures of these made. Since no one else did, I did!

At last! I don't suppose the free shipping on orders over $75 still applies to the States?
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Unfortunately, no...but the Canadian dollar is 70 cents to the US right now, and all together the fish weigh well under 250g (they are ridiculously light, even bundled up).

SBell

They have arrived! Lamprey, paddlefish, bowfin and African bonytongue! Can't make a real Cretaceous river scene without a bowfin... ;)

Or maybe even without a bonytongue...those things were here in Alberta in the Paleocene! And, somehow, in Bolivia in the Cretaceous. Mind officially blown.

I'm out of bichirs, but they can be backordered, only takes a coupke of weeks (maybe less, I'll have some on the way soon).

I'll get my own photos up soon (this is a before-they-were-shipped photo).

SBell

Just thought I'd put a new photo of the fishes up--one of my own! With a CollectA guy and Safari guy for scale (obviously, the fish are not to scale wtih each other...)

And, my son requested a marble lungfish pattern on the original lungfish:

To compare with the original West African:

Hope you like them!

The ol' coin purse is a bit light right now, but I'll definitely be after some of those new fish before long...

These are still a long way off from ready (and may not all be released at the same time), but the next wave have been sculpted!

L->R White-headed hagfish, Aquitanian pike, Wels catfish, Sterlet and Burbot

We are going for a European range this time! And, yeah, a little beyond the 'freshwater', but why not? Still FaunaFigures Fishes!

Also, check out this hagfish mouth:

So weird.

And we still have at least a few of each the other species still in stock at the store (except the bichir, but I'm getting more!)

Flaffy

First a Paddlefish, now a STERLET?!  :o You're making my dreams come true  ;D

Honestly, I'm making my dreams come true--I'm just happy it's good for other people too! It amazes me how many awesome fish are out there, completely unrepresented. ^-^

After you've made all the present day fish you desire, would you consider making some prehistoric fish?  ;D

The current goal is to cycle through the modern continent/continental regions at least once each, and then add some prehistoric animals.

Most of the current list is ray-fins and lobe-fins of various kinds, but Brandon is a fast sculptor, so I could always add an 'agnathan' or two!

What's that? AN update from FaunaFigures? It is indeed! After waiting all summer, I have finally received my first batch of wave 3--the European (-ish) species.

We have brought out a starry sturgeon (I kept saying sterlet...that's an entirely different species), a burbot!, and a white-headed hagfish (whose heads, really, aren't all that white apparently).

They are not up on the site just yet, but I do have a group shot with them and all of their back-in stock fellows:

I am still waiting for a couple of marbled lungfish...

I also have some models made by Brandon for his own line, Obscurus. A Mystriosuchus and a Balaur!

They should be up on the site soon!

Flaffy

Love the starry sturgeon and hagfish! :))
Brandon's mystriosuchus looks great as well. ^-^
Is the rostrum a little too short for starry sturgeon?

Thanks, I'm happy to get a few of Brandon's figures in!

As for the starry, they seem to vary--it might be younger ones are more 'nosy'?

Other images of 'heftier' ones have this kind of build:

And a closer look at the figure:

I didn't sculpt so I don't know the source of images used. On the other hand, we have at least one other sturgeon on our 'eventually' list, and as they are the Eurasian shovelnose types, it will kind of help really distinguish them.

SBell

Just wanted to give a quick update--the Burbot, Starry sturgeon and Hagfish are now up on the site! Along with the rest of the series!

SBell

Who wants a quick update?

I do!

Really, it's more like news--I have put most of the store on sale until December.

And, like always for Canada, free shipping on orders over $75 to the USA!

https://faunafigures.com/2016-season-holiday-savings/

SBell

It happened! I actually got 2017 figures in, in 2016!

Not the full assortment yet, but a whole bunch of them!

Also check out my store-wide sale and shipping offer!

That koi, I'm practically drooling!

It is really pretty! I don't normally buy from myself right away (except dinos) but I added the koi to my collection first!
