I found an amazing collection of Playvisions prehistoric mammals, just wish I had the money to buy them.

Three bids and a few days left. Hope a forum member wins it :)

I had a box like that when I got the large figures years ago.  I also have two of the smaller figures, but its not worth that stiff price just to get the little ones I don't have.

I'm fairly certain the pteranodon is not Colorata, since I have a few Chinastore figures using that very mold
I also have suspicions on the smaller spinosaurus

but I'm probably wrong,  in which case I may have to dig out that set and check for other Colorata bootlegs

I think the small spinosaurus is suppose to be a baby.

Colorata, 8 pieces, $13.99, $0.86 shipping. Too good to be true?

Green Spinosaurus, T. rex, Dilophosaurus & Deinonychus are from Colorata's very first Dino box.
http://dinotoyforum.proboards.com/thread/2972/beautiful-dinosaur-mix?page=37&scrollTo=129584

Dsungaripterus is from Colorata's Dino Cretaceous Vol.1 box.

Carnotaurus is from Colorata's Dino Cretaceous Vol.2 box.

....... the bases aren't the correct ones.

The other two figures look like Chinasaurs with random Colorata bases to me.

I am sure the two little figures (and the bases) are not Colorata.  These probably are not authentic as Colorata figures of this series should come in a box with an information catalog.

thats a good rating, but that doesn't matter in regards to whether or not they are selling bootlegs
the sellers rating is more for things like courtesy and quality of service, condition of goods, etc.

SpittersForEver

I know but doesn't that mean he/she is a bit more trustworthy?

I'd say the price is okay for the Dsungaripterus, Dilophosaurus, Deinonychus & Carnotaurus alone ;).
(... if you do not insist on having the correct bases; the Dsungaripterus' base is the only correct one by the way.)

Yes, but trustworthiness doesn't factor into it. The seller isn't responsible for whether the items are fakes or not (he didn't make them after all) - it's up to the buyer to use good judgement to decide that.

These will end up very expensive ..... as usually :'(.

Does anyone know what species charniodiscus and haikouella are?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-2-Yujin-Prehistoric-Haikouella-Charniodiscus-Mammal-Dinosaur-Figure-Kaiyodo-/321485265066?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ada03d8aa

Yes, they are...Charniodiscus, an Ediacaran 'animal' that looks kind of leaf-like. And Haikouella, an early-Cambrian chordate from China.

Both figures are part of the Yujin/NHK series.

And they should be expensive. It makes mine more valuable. Also, they are incredibly rare, it had a very brief release, only in Japan, and those were ones that were not later re-issues as gashapon repaints.

Oh, okay.

But surely the customers who have purchased items from him have bought the real thing and therefore are writing good feedback. Doesn't that mean that these are probably not bootlegs?

They don't look to be--but they aren't all Colorata. Some are Safari toob dino knockoffs (the little Pteranodon and Spinosaurus). And it's hard to know if those are the correct bases. Plus, the figures appear to be mixes of at least two different sets (original dino box, and Dsungaripterus from the current Cretaceous 1). So it's a strange mix, which is what causes the questions of authenticity.

Thanks for clearing that up.
