Oh, dear, no.  :( I'm curious, did the recent lot not sell, or does this seller by some miracle happen to have two sets of complete mint-in-bags Battats?  ???

Maybe Niroot's suspicion is correct and for some reason the first sale didn't go through, and this is the same figure listed again?

No, you're all wrong ;D. The seller even sold at least 3 complete sets (mint in bags) to the next highest bidders and is now offering the single ones.

No, that Diplodocus won't be cheap anymore :P. The seller sent an e-mail to all the people who asked him for one after the first auction and is now aware of its value (obviously he was not in the beginning ;D).

Blast and curses.  >:(

Well, I was partially right in supposing that they had more than one set. But to have as many as they're now listing! That just beggars description. Aiya...  :o

There is a set of Play Vision prehistoric reptiles listed here.

I just hate it when sellers "smarten up"!  *yuck*

This struck me as a rather good 'Buy It Now' deal, free shipping too, and 8 available.  :D

Strange, why are so many of them hovering above their bases? Also, why is there a little Safari Spinosaurus among them?

They're hovering because the seller didn't cut the acrylic rods. That's a standard for all Colorata figures--they have a rack of rods that goes with almost all of their sets, and they are all the same length (the DX have their own special rods). It is up to the purchaser to then cut the rods. Sometimes the rod needs a certain length--like to get feet into footprints. Other times, it is up to the owner (like for fish or flying animals).

And it's funny--the sets are missing all of the 4-footed, no-stand figures from the original set (the Brachiosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Dimetrodon, Allosaurus) and that is not the Colorata Pteranodon. Plus the Dsungaripterus and Carnotaurus are from one of the later sets.  So really, it is only 4 of the original 12 figures.  But the stands are almost worthwhile on their own!  I have the series, but not the stands (made some out of sculpey instead).

You can see all of my Colorata figures here, including all of their dinos (series 1, 2, 3 and the originals):http://picasaweb.google.com/HyenaSean/Colorata

The original series is near the end of the list.

Thanks for the clarification. Are those bases home made? Or do they make different ones? I notice the bases the seller has look different than others I've seen, some of them look quite crude.

The ones I have are home-made, I never got the original bases with the original dinos (Japanese auction). The ones in the auction look authentic--many Colorata bases, especially early ones, were fairly basic. And in some sets, they just used the same ones several times (like the first Saltwater fish bases).

The seller uses bases from many different Colorata sets.

The seller tells me they have a complete battat set that they will also be selling. But AS USUAL they dont want to sell them all separate.

I've seen that lot several times--and yeah, without the ichthyosaur, it just doesn't seem worth that much to me.
