Tripod Tyrannosaurus huh? I wonder if its safe from that guy from another site who "bobs" his dinosaur's tails just because they're in a tripod stance . Ugh.

They're his toys, he can do what he wants with them.

I personally found his website very enjoyable. It was unique and fun, and didn't take itself too seriously. The guy wasn't a paleontologist, and he never tried to be one. He was just a dinosaur toy lover. If you don't like it, you don't have to look at it.

Cryptozoology Toob

Blade-of-the-Moon

Thanks Dan !

You can definitely see the detail in the Rex now.  The tail still bugs me a little..it looks too small and too thin for some reason. I'll reserve my full opinion til I see it in person though or more pics.

Any other toobs ?

Might you have pics of new dragons ? :)

Yutyrannus

Whera are the Safari Monolophosaurus and the other Carnegie? Also, do you have any pics of the dragons?

Jetoar

New toobs are cool, overall the Deep sea creatures  ^-^. Suchomimus is very nice  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

I would say the lack of the second Carnegie figure in this bunch of images pretty much confirms its delay, but the Monolophosaurus is still missing too. Maybe there's still hope?

Dan

Sorry, not sure what happened to Monolophosaurus. Let's see if he'll behave this time.

All other items (yes, including dragons) can be seen right on Safari's website:

Looks like just the one Carnegie this year.

Yutyrannus

The pictures don't work so can you try to post them?

SpartanSquat

Thanks for the pics Dan! So the second carnegie this year, for the next. I cant remember, but this happened before with carnegie.

Yutyrannus

I found the pictures. Finally a Manticore! Also, the Good Luck Dragon is awesome!

Carnegie T.rex looks good...it's just the size that's bothering me. I hope it's at least 1/40 scale. Not interested in the Safaris.

Not impressed with the crypto toob to be honest. So we have sasquatch, yeti, Loch Ness monster, giant squid (Kraken?), weird rabbit thing with deer antlers (jackalope?), a fur bearing trout, and a coelacanth? It's not really even a cryptid, since there is a species of coelacanth alive today.

Seems like a missed opportunity, there were cooler cryptids they could have picked (the mothman, chupacabras, and the jersey devil for example). I think I'll stick to UMA models for cryptids.

Maybe Safari could make a Ufology toob with different types of alleged extraterrestrials (greys, reptilians, insectoids, Nordics etc, maybe include some alien craft and other things associated with UFOs, like MIB). That would be super cool. Safari, if you're listening: make it happen >:D

Gwangi

I kind of like the Crytozoology toob but overall I agree. The fur-bearing trout, giant squid, Jack-a-lope and coelacanth are not cryptids. Two are pieces of folklore perpetuated by gaffs and the other two known animals. That said, I'll probably get it. I would not mind having those non-cryptids anyway.

Takama

The Giant Squid is supposed to be the Kakkan

Dan

I spoke with Loren Coleman about the Crypto Toob, and this was how he classified each piece, if anyone is interested:

Bigfoot (cryptid)
Yeti (cryptid)
Loch Ness Monster (cryptid)
Fur-Bearing Trout (fake)
Jackalope (fake)
Giant Squid (classic species of cryptozoology discovery)
and Coelacanth (classic species of cryptozoology discovery)

Simon

Thanks you.  Quite embarrassing that the Monolophosaurus is so superior to the TRex both in pose and detail - AND - its a much smaller model, too.  As I said elsewhere - Carnegie should hire the Wild Safari sculptor.

Another note on the TRex - looks like the legs (once again) become anemic when you get to the ankles/feet.  Which, of course, were quite robust in life.  Maybe its the angle....

Then again, its probably just .... Forrest Rodgers....

joossa

Yeah, the T-Rex isn't doing it for me. I honestly think it's pretty bad.
The Suchomimus doesn't look bad.
