Wild Safari ceratopsians look so good together! I actually like the earth tones, for a change :) The Monolophosaurus seems to be about 99.9% accurate - I love it!  8)

Really nice pics Boki !

I was just thinking today about taking some pics of Doug's three ceretopsians together...glaf I didn't..would have been a poor effort compared with yours . lol :)

The Scutosaurus is going to be retired?  But it's so tiny and adorable!

That it is! A pretty little figure that doesn't take up much room :) if it is being retired I guess it just isn't a big seller. Shame :(

It's also out of scale with almost every other obscure-ish prehistoric creature that Safari has released!

Except for some of the big ones.

Tribute!  Here's a photo:

finally got around to taking pics of the WS 2013 pachy and mono  ;D
Both are good figures, but needs some help in the color department :P
Here is the beautiful Pachyrhinosaurus ( with it's predecessors, too  :)))

Monolophosaurus - overall better quality control than the Sucho, but once again, really drab colors ???

Who has better dental benefits?  ^-^

The trio

The three ceratopsians together do really look very nice.Woyldn't it be awesome to have a Kismoceratops to join in the family?  ;)
But if we mean to resculpts,I would still like to see a Spinosaurus from Doug. The actual one is pretty hideous imo.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I would almost guarantee a new ceratopsian is coming..they seem to be Doug's favorite..and I can see why. :)

The yellow Spino ? eh it's okay. The Carnegie one is superb though.

A new one would be much better, same case as with the new Sucho.Even if the Wild Safari line has improved A LOT,the Carnegie line is far superior.I think that's what they're chosing different( and more interesting species).(I guess)Safari thinks Carnegie is better than Wild Safari, but they choose more exciting and more appealing paint schemes than the Carnegie Collection to equalise these two lines in some way (yes, thenew Carnotaurus has a stunning paintjob),somI doubt they'd resculpt it.

It has been for a long time until it stopped with last year's cheaply designed Concavenator.
And ....... a T. rex isn't really a different (and more interesting) species ::).

Actually,my Concavenator has a default on its hump  :'( The Cryolophosaurus,Carnotaurus or even this year's Tyrannosaurus arenfar better than it.And I'd love to see a very obscure dinosaur from Carnegie sometime.I don't think it'll be in 2015,as w'all already have something, feathered and popular in our minds for Carnegie 2015  >:D

amanda

Dunno, Vagaceratops, Diabloceratops and Pachyrhinosaurus seem more interesting and "obscure" than a T-Rex. So I'd say that Wild Safari is pretty equal to Carnegie. I'd like to see Carnegie release a new (non Trike or Styraco) ceratopsian, but it seems they are leaving those to Safari....

Carnegie has been lazy for the past 2-3 years. Their last awesome product was the Brachiosaurus. I am extremely disappointed with the manner in which they painted the hump on the Concavenator. Every year we wait for them to release something worthwhile, and it never happens....

Now,I'll say their last awesome figure is their last figure:

LOL at the ones who said this one was poorly detailed or 'smooth'.
But,yeah,the Concavenator was a meh.

Heh it's funny to me they posted a pic of one of the  areas it did preserve much of the detail.. lol  The figure isn't totally smooth, but holding it yourself you can see where the detail for some reason along the back from the neck to the tail base and over the hips is a bit smoother than the rest of the body.  Maybe it was poor molding, handling, or too much paint, but it's there.   Still not a bad T-Rex..the head is  perfect...but the legs are a little thin again.

I think the detail looks "okay", but in comparison to past Carnegie models (such as the Miragaia, Apatosaurus, and Giganotosaurus) I feel that the sculpting is inferior.

Also, did someone spit on that Tyrannosaurus?!

I'm not certain it's the sculpting as I do see detail..so I'm more inclined to believe it's the cause of the manufacturing.

Maybe a bit too much gloss ? lol

I knew what you meant.

Don't you just hate late night decisions ? Whether it be posts, purchases or anything..they always bite me in the rear. heh

As luck would have it, I was able to get the new Carnegie T-Rex at a reasonable price. I have to say, this figure did not disappoint to disappoint.
I was not a fan of this figure to start with, but as I said, if you can get it cheap, why not? So I did. To be honest, this figure does not deserve it's overpriced cost of $17 – 25 dollars depending where you find/but it.
Unlike it's WS peers, this figure was really poorly executed, in my opinion. The biggest flaw, and this has been the trend since the Concavenator, was the really sloppy paint job on the figure. Simply put, its' just horrible! Although the eyes and red facial splash looks great, the teeth and gums are just so bad, and it's pure white! Really, I am not aware of any animals with pure lily-white gums?. Really, Safari needs to work on their Carnegie line quality control.
there is also something odd about the overall proportion.
Really, if you are going to release another T-Rex, make something that would make it stand out from all the others out there, and there are tons of them.
That's one reason why, despite its slaws, I prefer the CollectA rex with prey, it stands out and memorable.
