The Safari knockoffs are from the "Century of the Dragons" bootleg set.

Also, how does one knock off Geoworld models? They're pretty much knock off quality already, with their poor paintwork and detailing.

stargatedalek

"archeopteryx" >_<

"enviromental protection water-baised paint"
they even spell like a bootlegger

sauroid

"you know you have a lot of prehistoric figures if you have at least twenty items per page of the prehistoric/dinosaur section on ebay." - anon.

Hmm, this is bad, and they shouldn't get away with it. Has anyone contacted the plagiarised companies to let them know? If not, I'll drop them an email/tweet.

DC

I believe I have seen a Brachiosaurus copy also.  you would think they would at least change the colors.
You can never have too many dinosaurs

Hynerpeton

They look nice for a cheap. How much are the non knockoffs?
Walking With Monsers:
[about Lystrosaurus] Astonishingly, their vast herds make up more than half of all life on Earth. Never again will a single species do so well.

Walking With Monsters: (Hynerpeton) To avoid injury the males demonstrate their strength  in a strange  push up contest.

Let's see:
Living Stone Stego is 9.99
WS Stego is 9.89

So they are selling the knock off at a higher price than the original!
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

stargatedalek

I assume thats before the stores price and before shipping if you get it from safari directly?

oh, well then thats pretty bad they are charging pretty well as much as the real thing

Hynerpeton

Do all the "real" ones have the same color scheme then?

You certainly should; these are blatant knockoffs.

Yes, you really should.

Living Stones Toys (= Holy Stones Toys) is now also a seller on Ebay, selling knock-off versions of figures from all sorts of dinosaur toy companies. Including, for example, a version of the new running Papo T. rex.

They are marketing them under the name 'Holy Stones'. They won't fool us, but they might fool some.

Quote7 available / 3 sold

Pretty sad, but what can you do ::) Especially since the original is so ubiquitous.

Why do people buy these fakes? I don't understand. I'm genuinely curious as to why someone would buy this. I guess it's cheaper than buying the original but it's an inferior product. And it hasn't been safety tested.

Crackington

Most people wouldn't have a clue about the various dino brands, to them they would just be dinosaur toys.

Shouldn't Amazon and E-bay be reported too, if they are allowing blatant counterfeit products to be sold through their websites, aren't they profiteering from this crime too?

stargatedalek

well they are essentially selling them second hand on eBay, eBays profit is like the host of a flew market profiting from each tables rent
