It looks like a whale.
Okay, what's wrong with that? It lived like a whale so why shouldn't it look like one?

No, it lived like a marine varanid, so it should look a varanid.
No, you just don't like it because it actually looks like a real creature instead of a crocodile scaled shrink-wrapped skeleton of a lizard. It's simple enough, if you live in cold water you need to stay warm, hence you need blubber.

How dose tubbing up animals make them look real? Not every species is layered in fat.

I'm not saying they should be shrink wrapped, but you people are taking too far, can we just reach middle ground? A little fat here and there, drumstick legs, muscular tail, defined neck, and visible upper teeth (theropods).
I may not like feathered dinosaurs and stumpy legged Spinosaurs, but I will keep those opinions to myself, I will not start a debate over it, I promise. 😇

We can't see the picture.

Also, in many ways, it didn't live like a varanid. It was viviparous and likely endothermic.

It's an unggoy. I accidentally put the wrong pic.

That is a well preserved itcthyosaur.

Okay, so what's wrong with drawing the mosasaurs that actually outcompeted the ichthyosaurs in a similar manner?

I don't like the title of this thread, it is snarky, and not befitting for an "open and friendly community" like ours. How about if I change it to "Reconstructing soft anatomy"?

Yutyrannus

I would've but since I didn't start the thread, I can't change the title. You'll have to ask Trisdino.

Nothin, I said it should have scales, we have found mosasaur skin impressions. But ichthyosaurs seem to have been smooth skinned.

The title was ment to insult me because I said that the "new" Spinosaurus looked kinda fat.

Given the thread so far, it would take more than a title change to make it "open and friendly".

I think you need a members-only fight club thread to air out problems! ;D

Actually, I think it was because you disagree with every new discovery that makes dinosaurs real animals. Either way, I agree the title should be changed.

By having smooth skin, even though we know they had scales.

It's tails too small, and the pelvic bones are too pronounced.

For the last time it has scales! I just didn't draw them so that I could color it without smearing the pencil lines.

And?
