This is looking great! I think I want one hehehe! I'm actually thinking of trying my hand at sculpting myself, and I think I'm gonna make myself some 1:1 dinosaur heads and mount them on trophy shields. ;)
UPDATE - Where've I been, my other hobbies, and how to navigate my Flickr:

Paleogene Pals

Looking really good so far. The cats may be relaxed around it now, but just wait....

One of the things I intend to do when I'm done with this guy. ;)

Thanks guys!

I have come to the conclusion that this guy will be called 'Flicker' (due to a song stuck in my head). I'm currently fleshing out the body:

Kayakasaurus

That's cool! I've been working on a 1:1 as well, and it would go perfectly with your velociraptor. Can you guess what it's going to be?

Cool would be a Therizinosaurus, but I'm guessing Protoceratops? :) In any case: show us, please!

Anyway: Here is the first foot almost completed. I really like how the toes turned out so far!

jooooo

Wow, its getting even better, and i didnt mean functional flight feathers just a remnant.

Pachyrhinosaurus

Very good progress so far! I was going to make an archaeopteryx a while back using similar techniques (actually foam instead); never got around to it. Maybe this project is just what I need to motivate me to do it. Great work, I can't wait to see how it progresses.

Thanks, everyone! Since the weather today is pretty much the worst, I'll be working a lot on the model later on (after I've actually woken up and got some coffee...)

You should absolutely go for it!

Impressive! I would completely comission one like this!

Thanks edu! I'll have to figure out how to ship these, since I probably won't be keeping this guy anyway. ;)

fabricious

Progress on the other half:

He is about 5 - 10% too big, I only just realized. His hip is 60cm tall (while apparently they should have been around 50cm), I'll just pretend he's an extraordinarily big male. :D

Mmmmm... i'd be really interested!

Perhaps you could sell the armatures with eyes as kits?

It looks really good, can hardly wait to see it with feathers!

I decided to work with paper mache and maybe real feathers, if I can get my hands on them, otherwise I'll use fake fur to imitate emu-like feathers for the body. I'll keep you guys posted.
Didn't you say a while ago that you got a lot of duck and chicken feathers that you were going to use on it?

Anyway, great progress so far, I can't wait to see it finished :)!

Scott Hartman pointed out once that all animals have minor variations even if we can't see them. That's reduced a lot of my stress... ;)

Yeah, I thought I'd get them but never heard of the person again, sadly. :/

My thoughts exactly. :D
