Yet another line of knock-offs have appeared on Amazon, from seller Baidecor: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Baidecor+dinosaur
I recognise what most of them are copies of, except for the Protoceratops.

PhilSauria

Ever noticed how egalitarian these 'homages' are?, they don't just target one company, they'll 'borrow' from most across the board! Although having said that I see more Schleich and Papo copys than anything else.

sauroid

the Chinese pirates are having a free-for-all.

Local Dollarama has a lot of "MONTOY" products, they're definitely at the far low end of the quality spectrum. I've seen plenty of bootlegs almost indistinguishable from the original, and a select few even improved, but these things are just outright garbage.

They might also be available at Divisoria.

Not sure if this is a knock off or a custom model, but it seems to use the Safari Cryolophosaurus head and the Favourite Co Allosaurus body.

Lanthanotus

Looks to me like a custom with the fixit sculptey under the neck,... I like it :)

It's forum member Simon's custom Cryo, that he posted on his website: http://bucketfoot-al.tripod.com/DinoModels/index.album/kitbashed-cryolophosaurus-140-scale?i=97

.... which is currently being enjoyed by some fan who picked it up on ebay from me 4-5 years ago ... as with with 95% of my pieces on my website which have found good homes ... say what you will about ebay, it is still a good way to find good homes for stuff you value but no longer particularly want to keep around ...

Whoever bought it is lucky!  ;D
Keep up the good work Simon, love all your artwork and modified dinos!

Ahh, okay! Apologies for confusing it for a knock off, it's just that it was weird looking website so I wasn't really sure what to think.

Yes, that is a weird looking website (with a lot of missing photos).  Whoever put it up "borrowed" the photo from my Garage Kit Gallery without asking permission (which I am OK with, but a little "plug" for my website would have been nice...)  ;)

CityRaptor

This Oviraptor for sure looks familiar...
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

But what's with this sudden onslaught of knock-off Schleich, Safari, Papo, and Rebor figures?!

sauroid

the Chinese plagiarists/pirates thought it would be much cheaper to produce (and therefore much more profitable) their cheap products by using the molds of existing best-selling western figures.

Those scamps! >:D

stargatedalek

I never see knock-offs of anything good actually being sold in stores, just knock-offs of other knock-offs of knock-offs of figures that were so cheap in quality to begin with they're worse than "actual" knock-offs...

IrritatorRaji

Really interesting knock off of the Safari Spinosaurus I came across on Etsy. They're earrings.

Same seller also has what looks like Safari Tyrannosaurus earrings too.

While we're on the topic of Sarafi's Rex, I've seen this.... thing... on Etsy countless times. I don't really understand the appeal to be honest :-\

Same seller also sells an Apatosaurus version, ripped off from Safari's Apatosaurus.

Still debating whether or not the glittery dinosaurs are knock offs or repaints. The seller does say she makes them herself out of resin, so she probably just made casts out of the originals, I dunno.

Flaffy

Those earrings are just straight up Safari Good Luck minis, not even knockoffs

Can confirm those are definitely the actual minis, the paint used and even the injection points are identical. Those are customs, not knock-offs. ;)

The same is probably true of the others, though they certainly could be casts. Perhaps the glittering material is some sort of particle placed in the resin?
