This one.
Seven times cheaper than the real thing, (only $7 including shipping),
....and somehow still awsomebro.

that's an interesting remod of the REBOR Carno...

question to anyone who has info. were Carnotaurus able to move their puny arms forward/backward? ive always thought that their arms were always tucked on their sides.

Looking for Spinosaur figures online when I stumbled upon this abomination

It's supposed to be a puppet

It's kinda cute, but looks more like CG. Is it an actual product or a stock photo?

I'm not entirely sure, the seller (Puppetoys) also sells a Rex puppet which does seem to be real, so I'm assuming their other products are real too.

Found china casts of the juve Papo Tyrannosaurus. Ordered some because they are only going for $2.59 and I can't find the official one's anywhere.

you can still find the baby rex on ebay and most online sellers like DeJankins, ED, MiniZoo, Urzeitshop, Dans Dinosaurs etc.

If you search patiently you can still find even the green variant, that's been discontinued since 2015.

Dan's was sold out unfortunately. First place I checked. Thanks for the recommendations! I'll keep on a lookout. If I find real one's I will definitely pick them up.

I am currently waiting on some to pop up. Will definitely snatch right away if they are available.

Keep an eye on Ebay, last time I checked there were quite a few.

If you've got a Facebook account, join the Papo Dinosaurs Collector's Club, people will very often post rarer Papo models for sale there (such as the green or 'rainbow'), or, if you make a post asking for help finding one, the members are really friendly and will help you find one for sale.

Thank you so much! I just requested to join. Hopefully there are some people in the states willing.  :))

I think I have a Papo baby green. Happy to trade/sell it.

That would be amazing! Should I PM you?

New Rebor Knock-off with a terrible paint job.

Everyone's favorite Spino knockoff also got a better paint job. The eyes seem much more neat.

SidB

Interestingly enough, IMO, this hybrid was suggested on the DTF BEFORE it appeared as a bootleg. Wonder if that was an inspiration ... or a case of "great minds think alike" (versus "fools seldom differ").

@SidB I'm pretty sure it was a case of many people thinking that the skull was oddly characteristic of Bary's larger cousin.
So someone decided to do it. To be honest, it looks awesome. I have a feeling it would be absolutely amazing if a paleoartist took a repaint on.

Also, has anyone noticed that the number of Chinese knockoff sellers on Amazon has skyrocketed since last month?

SidB

I agree that it's neat. But then I never cared for the pose and body of the Papo Baryonyx - IMO the Papo head has found its true home.

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Syndicate Bias

I cant bring myself to buy bootlegs. If i want to find a model for cheap i just go to every dinosaur seller i know like ED, DD,MZ and Ultz and ME and of course Ebay and wait. Usually i buy mine for a few dollars less but every penny counts!

EBay is your best bet for retired models. Ive gotten all my retured ones from auctions in which i tend to bid last minute to win every time aha. Keep a look out for papo dinosaurs on Ebay. If you want me to i can let you know if i see anything i usually am always on the lookout for anything papo related on ebay or any other company

mgaguilar

@SyndicateBias Is it a case of principle (legitimacy/morality)? Or more of a quality control issue? You mention that you will do whatever in your power to obtain the cheapest "legitimate" model, and will never buy a bootleg.
This figure is actually one of the least bootlegged-ish figures available. The head is a Papo Baryonyx for sure, but the body (spine-sail, tail, arms, etc.) look to be originally sculpted, but heavily inspired by the Papo Spinosaurus.

I am honestly curious. I have bought some bootlegs as a consumer and I see them (usually) as entirely different figures from what they were based(casted) on, primarily due to the bootlegs having a different paint job.
Which leads me to buy the original anyways just to stare at the comparison porn.  :P
