Not to take the easy road, but the original Jurassic Park Soundtrack, by John Williams is amazing.

CityRaptor

Also "The Lost World".

The Walking with Dinosaurs Soundtrack ( Series, not Movie )
Disney's Dinosaur ( terrible Movie, but great Soundtrack )
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Paleogene Pals

The song "Walk the Dinosaur" that came out in the late 80's. I forget the artist.  And, not a song, but the band T-rex is pretty cool.

pascosaur

Not sure if it describes how awesome dinosaurs were but the song "I'm a little dinosaur" by Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers (Live in 77) is very moving...  :)

My "Top 4 most awesome dino doc themes" of course ( http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=1790.0 )!

QuoteThis journal entry was inspired by the Nostalgia Critic's "Top 11 Most Awesome Movie Themes" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlzhxVj7xck ). It's nothing formal, just a list of what I (as a non-expert dino fan) think are the most awesome dino doc themes & why. Even still, I hope that at least some you will get something out of it. As for why "Top 4", to quote Santa Claus ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_KMYPsPNXQ ), "I've checked it more than once, but less than ten times, because around four I get bored."

4) "Paleoworld" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXjbcImbO-k ): This theme is great adventure music. In fact, this theme reminds me of "The Lord of the Rings" (#11 on the NC's list) in that it makes me want to stand up & yell "F*** YEAH! That was just the begining of the action! Ehh!!!!" & "F*** YEAH! I'm gonna vacation there! Mmmhhh!!!" (in combination w/the footage of dino digs & museums, respectively).

3) "Evolve" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfUGBtRxmTE ): As a wrestling fan, this theme reminds me of Batista's theme ("I Walk Alone": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sSTRiv_OA8 ). Don't get me wrong as I never really liked Batista. However, I always really liked his theme b/c it made me think of "RAW ANIMALISTIC POWER" more than any other. That's basically what "Evolve" is about (albeit in a different context), hence why a Batista-esque theme is so fitting.

2) "Bonehead Detectives of the PaleoWorld" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-GqRtc3tRE ): As a rock fan, this theme reminds me of "You Shook Me All Night Long" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWCINQn6k0s ) for obvious reasons. Specifically, these are 2 awesome rock songs with similar-sounding choruses, & everyone loves screaming the chorus of an awesome rock song.

1) "Dinosaur Revolution" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBKOxMi47-Q ): Even though DR got mixed reviews, I think everyone can agree on 2 things: 1) Its dinos are the most anatomically-accurate of any dino doc at that point; 2) Its theme is the most awesome of any dino doc at that point. In fact, DR's theme reminds me of "Conan" (#2 on the NC's list) in that "it's amazing, it's grand, it's epic, it's...just massive". DR's theme is so awesome that I had to provide a link to the extended version (as opposed to a DR episode, which uses a much shorter version).

Honorable Mention) "Walking with Dinosaurs" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqs5kqUwMhg ): It was kind of a toss-up between this theme & "Paleoworld". I know this theme gets a big cheer whenever the doc opens, but it's the songs in the actual doc that make me wanna stand up & roar (E.g. The "Diplodocus Herd" scene from the "Ballad of Big Al" episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1yv7Pi78Og ), hence why it didn't make the "Top 4".

When  I listen to my song (first post) I always imagine every species of dinosaur charging in as fast as they can into war, against something not so coo, like pokemon or something, and the dinosaurs totally annihilating the other army.

No offense to pokemon fans. ;)

I hate getting into these kind of conversations but the dinosaurs would totally get annihilated by the Pokemon. Considering how many of them can breathe fire, ice, water, electricity etc. For example the temperature of Vanillite's breath is -58 degrees Fahrenheit, Magcargo's body tempterature is 18,000°F, which is hotter than the surface of the sun...so yeah, they wouldn't stand a chance against them.

Just saying ;)

Hey everyone. I'd just like to say, when it comes to music that portrays dinosaurs, we don't need to limit ourselves with Jurassic Park soundtracks or classical music in general, or the music doesn't need to be about dinosaurs for it to be fitting.

For example. I don't know if you've heared about a group called Boards of Canada but they compose ambient, downtempo music and It's very good in my opinion.
Would like to know what you think about this song. For me, everytime I listen to this song, it just teleports me in to the amazing prehistoric world. It suits to almost every prehistoric period. I can easily imagine dinosaurs or other prehistoric animals and the world they lived in by listening to this.

Click on the individual covers for each album to listen to the songs. The albums themselves aren't being made anymore, but Don can make cd copies if anyone wants to buy any for a moderate cost.

Ok did anyone have to sing this song back in Elementary School?   I remember my Music Teacher(the one who had the Carnegie Collection on her Desk, and was the one who got me into this hobby in the first place)

Made us sing Dinosaur related Songs, and forced us to sing in a concert about them or it was an automatic F on our grades.   I cant for the life of me remember any of the songs we sung. EXCEPT ONE

This is the only song i remember singing at the time, and man i think its beautiful

Brian Engh, at http://dontmesswithdinosaurs.com/, has an album called Earth Beasts Awaken under the pseudonym of HistorianHimself that's about dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts returning to the present and wreaking cosmic horror-type havoc, and it's incredible. He also does very good paleoart (he did the press release for Aquilops).
