Attention paleo book collectors!

I don't know why this didn't occur to me sooner but as I'm sure many of you are now aware I've had the good fortune of living close to one of the largest book sales in the United States (so I'm told). It occurs every May and October for the first three weekends of the month. I've gotten a lot of gems there, a lot concerning paleontology and dinosaurs. If you look at my book collection thread you can see my collection for yourself. A good number of those books came from there. So even though it is a bit late for this month I'm putting myself out there for you guys. If you're looking for a particular book concerning dinosaurs, paleontology, evolution etc. just shoot me a PM, I may be able to find it. I would be more than willing to pick up the book for you and organize a trade or something. Just let me know. No promises though! Some years are better than others and there are dedicated book hunters who even camp out overnight. I can't compete with that! All I can promise is that I'll keep an eye out. This goes for children's book on these subjects as well.

Do they do really cheap books for kids on dinos? Like .25-1.00 or so?  I find some on occasion at a used book dealer and I put them in the shop. Wouldn't mind finding a lot of them as we have none right now.

That's a very kind offer! Are you going this weekend? If so I might send you a pm with a couple of things I wouldn't mind picking up.

I would be up for most any of the new, current, trendy titles in nice shape if the price is below say ten a title for them. Most of those books sell well over double that so....anything like that I would be game for myself. My interests are primarily dinosaurs with a specialty in horned beaked and frilled beasts of course.

I was hoping to go on Sunday but I've been having car troubles so I'm not sure I'll be able to make it. Honestly it's the first day of the first weekend that most of the best dinosaur books are available. That's why I'm kicking myself for not thinking of this BEFORE the sale started this time around. Send me a PM anyway of what you're looking for. If I can't find it during this sale there is always the October one.

Blade, there are always tons of kids books. Many of the books left at this point in the sale are very outdated. Interested anyway? I'll see what I can find.

So like I said before, if you want an idea of what I could find just check out my book collection thread. Some titles are there every year with some sales being better than others. Typically the fall sale is better than the spring sale. Again, no promises, but I will keep an eye out. I've gotten a lot of great and hard to find titles there. I couldn't believe it when I came across "Wildlife of Gondwana" last weekend.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Sure bud. I haven't seen one really little kid's book with accurate info in it..lol  But some kids just like picture books and such, if we can turn it around for another 1.00, that's another 1.00 for the Park. :)

Two kids books I would pop for are ..."The enormous egg" if in really nice condition and happens to be the yellow cover with the picture of the nest with the egg in it....any of the Shy stegosaurus books, and the scholastic book club books like..."They turned to stone" vintage 70's .

By any chance can you find a copy of Maia: A Dinosaur Grows Up?

I might trade one of My Commissioned models for it.

Gwangi

Made it to the book sale one last time yesterday but being the last weekend of the sale the picking were slim. But don't despair, I have a list of the wanted books and will keep an eye out during the October sale.

Here are a few I picked up for trade purposes. Let me know if you're interested. "Archosauria" is already spoken for.

Gwangi

Fall book sale is in October and I'll be there. For those looking for specific paleo-books go ahead and post/pm your lists and I'll do my best to find what I can. To those who already sent me lists, I don't have them anymore so please send them again. Sorry. I can't promise I'll find what you're looking for but I will certainly try. This is one of the largest book sales in the country so It's always worth a shot.

Takama

Still want Maia: A Dinosaur Grows Up.

Gwangi, anything dinosaur related by Ken Carpenter would be on a short list of must haves for me..if you notice any.

Do you already have "Eggs, Nests and Baby Dinosaurs"? I'm sure you do, but I do recall seeing it there once before.

I'd be interested in the following if you can find them:

Dinosaurs under the Aurora (Life of the Past) by Roland A. Gangloff
Drawing Out Leviathan: Dinosaurs and the Science Wars by Keith M. Parsons
Hadrosaurs (Life of the Past) by David A. Eberth and David C. Evans

Thanks

Gwangi

Just got back from the book sale, went last week too. There were a lot of dinosaur books and I found a few for myself but none of what you guys requested.
