Despite the fact that the snout looks too short for me, I really like it overall.

I thought the snout looked too short at first, but after doing some comparisons, I don't think it is.  I think what makes the snout look too short is that David's given it a lot of flesh and feathers at the back half of the jaws which makes that area look taller, and although they aren't really the jaws end up looking shorter.  The colour scheme of the head could have helped lessen this appearance, but so far I think it's increasing it.  Maybe it will look better in person, but I'm finding the all-dark eye surrounded by pale skin makes it look like the whole eye is the pupil and the skin is the iris, which makes the eye look bigger and the snout look even shorter...  Based on the photo's description, it looks like David hadn't finished painting the Buitreraptor when he posted it, so maybe it will look better once it's finished.

I think I like it so far. It's not my first choice for the mini "raptors", but with the color being added, Buitreraptor looks like it will still be desirable for me, and I think I will still want to get it and its pack at some point if I can. I also love how the base and other accessories are turning out. I think I'm getting hyped for these packs all over again. I'm surprised the image for the WIP (with Saurornitholestes for scale), hasn't been shared yet. Hope I added this right:

If you're happy to say, which figures from this series are you planning to get?

Well, like I said, most of them:
Acheroraptor
Adasaurus
Atrociraptor
Balaur
Dromaeosaurus (not sure which)
Linheraptor
Pyroraptor (not sure which)
Saurornitholestes langstoni
Tsaagan
Zhenyuanlong (fans choice version--I love blue dinosaurs but the orange snout is a little too bird-y for me)
Wetlands pack w/ Buitreraptor
Desert pack w/ Mononykus
Mountain pack w/ Troodon

I'm pledged for Velociraptor but I probably won't keep it. I'm very happy with the new Safari version, and if I'm going to have multiple Velociraptor figures I want one of them to be small enough for my 1/20 or 1/40 shelves. I keep dithering on which Pyroraptor and which Dromaeosaurus to buy, because I really like both versions of each. I'm also not sure about the forest pack because again, I'm very happy with the Safari Microraptor, and I think they'll be at a similar scale. At the same time, the cycad trunk in the forest pack is an enticement, because it's such a good spot to perch things.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Did you have to had done the kickstarter to get them? Or can you get them later without doing the Kickstarter?

You can still order them from the BackerKit here: https://beasts-of-the-mesozoic-raptor-series-action-figure.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

I do like the choice of emu colors for this one, and it looks to be turning out nice so far, but it'll probably be better when its done. So two (almost?) done, and the two left (Microraptor and Troodon) are the ones I am anticipating the most of the mini "raptors".

so the egg nest is supposed to be a raptor nest, right?

I've decided to get the Velociraptor and the desert set. I was going to get the babies too but decided not as it looks like the nest comes with a hatchling and to me it doesn't make sense to have older babies running around with one adult and have that young one in the nest too.  And it a lot less cheaper without them too. Lol

What are you guys getting?  Is anyone getting the babies packs?

If only it had Safari's level of fluffiness...
Also, a bit too blue for my liking.
Definitely will be considering adding the mononykus.

Faelrin

A bit too blue for me as well. Then again the package art one was also like that, so... maybe that's why? Or the grackle inspiration? I don't know. Or maybe iridescence is just hard to pull off with paint? Then again both the Balaur and roadrunner Saurornitholestes had some. I have no idea. Perhaps I'll just stick to the Troodon and Mononykus set for now. I still like the Microraptor enough to pick one up later (as well as the Buitreraptor pack), but I did not have much of a dire need for its pack with the raptors I'm getting for the meantime. It was mostly an interest in the sculpt and the fact I jumped the gun a bit for thinking it would turn out more black with some subtler iridescence (something like the Balaur I guess). I'm not an expert on Microraptor though, so this is more of a preference thing for me then looking at it from an accuracy standpoint.

Looks very grackle inspired to me.  And speaking of which, I've seen grackles with slim and sleek feathering and I've seen fluffy grackles, so why do all Microraptors have to be super fluffy?
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

They can make themselves look slim by flattening their plumage and extending their very long necks. This guy looks too shaggy to have flattened out feathers - the individual feathers are way too short on the neck and body.

Does the fan's choice Saurornitholestes have iridescence too?  I know the bird that its colour scheme is based on has iridescent feathers, but I never saw David say the Saurornitholestes figure had iridescence.

Faelrin

It's mostly on the tail. I was able to pick up on it when I saw it at JerseyFest. It's more of a green then blue iridescence though (the blue next to it was painted on from what it looked like). It does show up in this image a little bit:
