I can't wait to see the final product!  :) :)

Blade-of-the-Moon

Should be done next month.

We're renting forklift today with a telescoping front that will raise it up on it's pivot point. darn thing is costing me 500.00 for a day. :/  Planning to use it to hang the Tupuxuara as well..a lot to do in one day.

Patrx

Man, that would be something to see in person - even just being the front of the animal, it's massive! Well done.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I wish it was the whole body..maybe some day.   Nothing like seeing full size dinosaurs in the flesh, kids love em' makes such a huge impact and all.  I'm very happy to do it.

Pachyrhinosaurus

Good work! I remember back when you did the baby one, and you said someday you'd tackle the adult, and of course you delivered!

thanks bud, back then I had no idea pieces of this size were even possible!  Now I'm thinking if we can somehow manage to build a big Brachiosaurus....

Holy Cow, Blade, that looks awesome!

One question though?  What's to keep that critter from becoming a giant kite when the next big storm hits?  Or breaking from its moorings when its turned into a sail by the wind?

Thanks man, Spiney scared me to death getting up on the lift yesterday...I'm so relieved right now, we raised the Tupuxuara yesterday then we did the Spinosaurus..i was scared to death it would deform under the lifting weight and it did a tiny bit..but it was fixable.  It rained/lightning on us so we had to leave her hanging up there all night.  I sat up off and on all night planning and checking the weather to head out right after it stopped raining.  I ran out as soon as it quit and started cutting boards this morning, my buddy got up and we went at it hard til 5pm we released the rope and she stayed up!    Still some work to do , but  the hard parts are over of these..whew!

Well we've  had smaller and lighter pterosaurs stay in the air so far.  It does weigh quite a bit, took four of us to carry it out where it goes and it was  still back breaking.  He's mounted with three strands of cable around 3' long connected to eyebolts with big washers strung from each wing and the neck to a central cable stretched between two trees a big oak and an elm, strong, slow growers.  We can really only hope it's enough til see some gusts hit him..he's only up around 12' off the ground too. If we see it looking too loose we'll have to add some more smaller cables.

Tupuxuara going up!

That looks fabulous - the third shot with the light coming through the trees is quite amazing.

Thanks, I had two friends snapping pics and video all the while we were working, should more soon. :)

Loving that Tupuxuara! Your work continues to amaze. Used to follow your progress back in the day on the JPL forums - it was awesome then and it's awesome now. If I ever find myself in Tennessee, you bet I'll find my way to the park. :)
You may also know me as: Crimsonraptor / Styracosaurus Rider / officially that guy

Thanks bud!  I don't frequent JPL nearly as much as I used too.  When I posted there fewer and fewer seemed to care so I just quit in the end.  For sure, let me know when and we can do " The Main Tour"..  lol

Spinosaurus up and getting more work done!

The spino is looking amazing! I am sure you will be able to build the other half some day!

I think for a large dinosaur like a sauropod, you could build it so that the front and rear leg assemblies are built to support like a sawhorse, but build it modular in sections so its torso can slip along support beams in the middle between the front and rear legs and go together like lego practically. The neck and tail could be broken into a few modules as well and put together on support pins. Something to think about. It'd make handling it a lot easier. then do all the meshing and skin when its all together.
I'm seeking Orsenigo and other interesting vintage dinosaurs. Contact me if you can help with my search!

Thanks!  The bit of land it's on is my grandfather's garden currently, then its supposed to go to his son..so we'll see ..heh

that's a cool idea!  our Apatosaurus was a pain to build and  make sturdy enough as well.  You can see some pics of how she was done here :  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10202515707870499.1073741842.1129456954&type=3

If we do a Brachiosaurus/Giraffatitan it will really take some funds and planning...I do figure to make the head neck separate then crane them into place.
