I have all the Invicta figures colored and monochrome.  I also have the Larami figures which are mostly copies of the Invicta figures.  Their certainly not the same quality but would be a cheaper alternative.
Yeah, you don't see the Laramis around much anymore. I have about a half dozen that I'd picked up over the years at thrift shops. Will be making these available in a few weeks. Even the Invictas are quite scarce now, haven't seen one in over a year at the local Value Villages here in Toronto.

Pretty interesting. I knew about the Larami versions which were knock offs and I have some. But those JHL versions are new to me. On the other hand it would be quite surprising if no cheaposaur company had never used the Invictas.

avatar_Duna @Duna I wish you good hunting and I know exactly what Invictas can do to a collector. Once you have one, you want them all.

Did you know there were even attempts to make other species in the Invicta style, not by the company itself? There are many figures somewhere in this style which I will never get my hand onto. Bummer! I read about it in a Prehistoric Times issue and was flashed about that!

Wow, it would have been so nice if we could have an Invicta spino with swimming tail and others!

Thanks for your support, so that means I'm not crazy at all as my husband says?  ::) Yesterday he dropped by something like "So you want more like those last that are so horrible? at least those (refering to the PNSOs on the shelf) are prettier!" ... ammm, he just can't understand .... :'(

Libraraptor

To me the longing for more Invictas is totally normal.

avatar_Libraraptor @Libraraptor  do you mean the ones sculpted by Robert Telleria, one of the Dinosauriana contributors and shown in PT a while back? Unfortunately, I think they are just one offs that he makes for fun. He has a regular article doing "what if" models, I liked the one he did in the  Airfix kit style.

avatar_Duna @Duna  glad you've caught the Invicta bug - classic models!

Well as you know their are the Kleinwelka and Basel Figures.

Duna

Hello everyone. Those who are lucky to have a stand for the marine reptiles and whale, could you please tell me the measurements?
I saw the one in Shapeways, but I'm trying to make one in 3D by myself and more squared like the Invicta, despite my knowledge about 3D design is rather poor. I'll try my best with Tinkercad. But I would like to know how long is it, wide, depth and the little support on the top.
Thanks a lot!

avatar_Crackington @Crackington Yes I guess you are right. We have them in this very thread ^-^  a few pages before: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=379.280

S @stoneage So I did not mean those,  although of course those are very interesting to monochrome lovers,  too. There was only one Basel figure as far as I know,  namely their Tsintaosaurus.

Good memory avatar_Libraraptor @Libraraptor 👍

Looking at the picture Takama posted back then*, it's a real pity Robert Telleria didn't hook up with someone to make them available isn't it?  Like those garage industry  Aurora style what if kits. The vintage style Spinosaurus looks great there.

*I should say I have the PT issue Robert Telleria put them in but glad I didn't need to dig it out from the pile!

avatar_Duna @Duna it's about 5.6 cm long at its longest point, about 4.1 cm tall at its highest point (but it's slightly tilted), and 3.8 cm at its widest point.

Duna

Thanks a lot, avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres. I've been trying hard but such a complex 3D design is not my best.
I got three original stands with a whole collection I bought (now I have two collections). I would like my twin girls to have one each in the future and enjoy it as much as I like them. I'm still missing the Lambeosaurus.  :'( If you some day came across one that does not imply I should sell one of my kidneys, please I would be very interested.
I may try to make a mold of the stand, that could be easier ...

Mattyonyx

I'm currently looking for an Invicta Baryonyx. Even if I know I'm asking too much, is there a place I can find it in good condition, or maybe someone on the forum willing to sell one?

Duna

I'm so happy now ... I asked a German Ebay seller if he would sell me a figure from a lot and I ended buying him a Stenonychosaurus and two Lambeosaurus in an amazingly perfect condition. He seemed to have 5 Lambeosaurus, I chose between four.  :o I felt it was my oportunity to get those figures or I would always regret it. I believe I did well, they were my only figures left.

Well done, good for you! Fortune, so to speak, favors the bold.

Duna

I found some pictures in eBay in this very complete boxes lot that is on sale that would be nice to show here in this post:

terrorchicken

why did they include a blue whale in this series? it would have been cool if it was to scale with the larger dinos to use as a size comparison.

Normally if you ask a seller to do that, they instead massively increase the price of the desired item. You were extremely lucky.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

avatar_terrorchicken @terrorchicken - see page 4 of this thread for an explanation for why they made a blue whale. Essentially it is due to the long association with the museum and it being a major drawer there.

I can only surmise that it would have been too big and expensive to make in scale. Most 1970s kids wouldn't have been able to afford it as the sauropods were already a stretch requiring deeper pockets.
